This really didn't feel like a finale for ash this felt more like "we are gonna leave him in a limbo state just in case the new protagonists don't work out" genuinely a frustrating way to "end" Ash's story
Idk I think it works. In the World of Pokemon your journey is never over. Theres no big point where you have done everything and theres nothing left.
I think it was the best way to end the series. Ash doesn't settle down he's still got adventure to do, pokemon to see, a world to go explore just he will do it with pikachu by his side without us.
The anime has more stories to tell and new protagonists are needed
That wasn’t it at all tho
He will pop up for cameos and we still have his movies
And also in ash’s eyes an eternal adventure is something amazing that’s why it’s the perfect finale
Ur just being cynical and making it all about you
Maybe they’ll keep making movies with Ash, even as someone else runs the series.
Problem is the first or second second episode of Journeys is that there are all the references to past saga's for Ash, meaning its the same Ash in every series, he just gets dumbed down for plot reasons (And notice him and Pikachu only got dumbed down in every series until gen 6, after which they didn't do it anymore) and in Unova, there is the added fact Ash has to do it all alone now and cannot rely on his mentor/brother Brock anymore.
yep, that i can agree on 100 percent!!! he was depending on brock a bit too much at times!!
I personally think that ash became a pokemon (maybe when mew and mewtwo clashed) (or that was how ho ho granted his wish) along with only a few years passing 1 ep is equivalent to 1 day so no one has noticed yet this is based on ashes increased understanding of pokemon in contrast to everyone else's ablity to understand pokemon.
@@erikburzinski8248 what? Wouldn't people acknowledge that Ash is different now? Ash not aging means no one technically ages even if they change
Also wasn’t pikachu sick or something like that during that infamous snivy battle?
The best part of why I back your Bruno is Ash's dad theory is because of the most apparent similarity they share: superhuman strength and agility. Many other characters in the main series of the anime lack the kind of ability Ash seems to have with his lore bending strength. Bruno is one of the only characters, and certainly the only suspected father, to have known feats of strength.
Bruno’s been working out his entire life and is jacked.
Ash is a scrawny ten year old
I’d presume that (much like the games) the Unova series was intended to be a soft reboot to the series, which is why Ash was dumbed down and his age was reset.
Because as we know, Black & White were originally supposed to be a soft reboot of sorts for the games to try and inject new life.
How did you all feel about the final episode? Have you seen it yet?
Not seen yet, I have no cable...because it is a relic. I am waiting for the series to come to Pokemon TV
It was great, had surprises, Pidgeot showed up, & of course Ash did not reclaim it & catch any other Pokémon.
A bit underwhelming in my opinion, but we saw pidgeot so at least one of most prominent plot holes was closed
The bruno one has always made sense musty because ash has always had parity good luck with fighting type and never forget pikachu signature move he only used once the rocket punch in that episode its show that ash has some fighting knowledge
@@jodamora7338 he did reclaim Pidgeot, he doesn't recall it to it's ball or anything, but he says: "Wanna come with me again?", and Pidgeot consults it's flock, then it happily nudges Ash as he says: "Alright Pidgeot!, Counting on you once again!" So Pidgeot has finally returned to Ash.
Ash Katchem and Pikachu you're always special to me .
You made me look forward to seeing your show on tv and beyond growing up .
I loved growing alongside you Ash Katchem and Pikachu it was a Spectacular Journey .
May you have many more adventures in the future .
I would also like to point out that Bruno is an elite four member, in the short film that takes place in the alternate universe, Pokémon: Blue Skies, Delia and Ash's Dad are having a dinner date, at the end some important work came up, but left a gift for ash, in this timeline Ash got the League Hat from his dad, not from winning it. Wanna know who directly works for the league, being an elite four member? Bruno
Please do not type about Bruno.
@@fireembliam9090 oh right, my bad. Lmao
How are either of those events related?
@@pickedceasar1216 can you please elaborate on which events?
@@newski7284 the dinner date and Bruno
For Ash’s age, I think the anime version of Ash ages 1 year every Pokemon league with the league being a yearly event, evidence supporting this being the Pichu & Pikachu short. This would make Ash 16 by the time he became Alola’s champion. Also the only person to reference Ash’s age after season 1 is the narrator, an out-of-universe source of information directed to watchers that “yes, Ash is 10 years old just like you target audience”
Silver being Ash’s dad feels like it should fit thematically but Bruno’s appearance and personality makes for a better fit
I think levels in the anime is fluid, based off how much stress the body has been through, training being a common form of putting the body under healthy stress, this explains why Pikachu was defeated by a Snivy who is battling for the first time, and why some Pokemon evolve when they haven’t defeated any opponents, if a Pokemon has overcome a hurdle or is prepared to face a challenge then that can be enough to trigger an evolution or even trigger the ability to learn a new move
Please do not type about Bruno.
that I can agree with you on when it comes to levels, these are animals/ living creatures/ no longer bits of code like in the games, so them only gaining things by specific levels doesn't make alot of sense.
so your saying every gen series happens ash ages
@@komodrasteel8019 more or less
I think we might assume Ash Dragonite started at lv 55 when it evolved. It would make sense from it being such a powerhouse at early Journeys and getting some loses later on.
6:00 - Brock openly says after summer ends "That I'll have to wait a whole 'nother year to meet a girl!" in "The Ghost of Maiden's Peak"
I think Ash is 16 as of Kalos & 18 at the end. It was said that each region's league happens once a year & his Kanto journey took nearly a full year. He started at 10 years, 10 months & 10 days of age. After that he got better & faster. In Johto, he celebrated the anniversary of him meeting Pikachu, so he'd be 12 years, 10 months & 10 days old then. After that I round up & assume he can finish a league in 6 months or less, so that puts him at roughly 15 in Sinnoh, 16 in Kalos & Alola is a school story & he completed a school year, so 17, & Journeys was much harder than a standard League, so a full year seems reasonable.
No way he's 18. He's 10 and it's a kid show where logic is thrown out the window most of the time for the plot
I'll give you like 13-14 at most but no way the little prepubescent child is 18 😂
Interesting video, i really like Bruno being Ashes dad. That being said I really dislike mechanics such as level being considered canon. Or using season mechanics as an in world thing just does feel true to a living world. And like that opens up things such as scarlet and violets silly day and night cycle.
Well according to the Hoenn anime Levels are very much a thing as when May is using Blaziken to battle Ash’s Charizard Prof.Oak brings up how this battle is interesting because it’s between such high levelled Pokemon
@@skelitonking117 Well technically in sports like football people say that some people are top of their game, or high level. It doesn't necessarily mean there is some power level. Maybe he just means they are skilled.
Please do not type about Bruno.
Ash's team's levels really worked out to match pretty perfectly to Red's levels atop Mt. Silver!
I guess you didn't see the Special back in December called "The Distant Blue Sky" where Ash's Dad is mentioned a few times. Ash seems to know him and says to Pikachu "It has been a while since we have seen Dad". They are going to meet up but Ash's Dad has to leave before Ash arrives. I would reccomentd checking it out. It doesn't necessarily debunk Bruno being the Dad but it would imply that Ash has learned who his Dad is at some point.
yeah i kind of prefer his dad to be someone else entirely, not known by the audience, but also someone who might have done well for themselves enough for their family to get through life.
I believe Silva is his grandfather and Professor Oak's cousin, hence why Oak checks in on Delia, and Ash and Gary are so close and have such a rivalry.
"Pikachu getting nerfed at the start of a season" is actually a big headcanon in fanfics to explain why Pikachu is alleys struggling at the start. Plus the "Ash caps Pikachu to 4 damaging moves only or he's too OP" lol
ash is getting pidgeot back and tracey's venonat is now a venomoth, also, someone who worked on the anime said ash is forever 10 years old
I agree that Ash's pikachu is around level 100 now, I think you're spot on with the ages especially seeing how Brock is acting like an adult in the PLA special which would make sense with him being 15 at the start of Ash's journey and if it really was around 3-4 years he would be 18-19 now. The only one I'm not sure about is who Ash's dad is. I think Bruno was set up to be Ash's dad but they've changed so much about the anime I think like most anime for boys his dad is going to remain a mystery I've not seen the last episodes though since I watch as the English dub gets released.
My quick and dirty maths actually has Ash at 18-19 at the end of Journeys when he became World Champion and Pikachu at Level 100. I got nothing for Ash's dad, though Bruno seems the most likely of the characters we know of.
Well, Arezu spread her haircut to the Galaxy Team, so in theory, her descendant in that Team could've taken after her with it easily available.
I remember reading a theory about Ash's age; each episode "counts" as a day, and adding them all together to his original age would make him about 13-14. I personally really like this theory but that's just me.
what about episodes that are continuations of each other?
@@warpednylium Even counting them Ash would still be 13-14
I personally think that ash became a pokemon (maybe when mew and mewtwo clashed) (or that was how ho ho granted his wish) along with only a few years passing so no one has noticed yet this is based on ashes increased understanding of pokemon in contrast to everyone else's ablity to understand pokemon.
@I'm A Member of the Midnight Crew what about episode that show night and the next day in them
@@bellwood36313 or the fact that Journeys literally had a full four seasons in Kanto 😂😂
Also when I was younger I was convinced Bruno was Ash’s dad because Ash’s mom was the only one who knew where he was secretly training and it always made sense to me so in my head cannon Bruno is and always be Ash’s dad 🤷🏼
I really enjoyed these theories Toby, they were fun to watch, I would really like to see more Pokemon anime theories from you in the future.
Honestly: The "Bruno is Ash's dad" theory is a neh to me. Bruno looks more like an uncle for Brock than any relative for Ash. ^^;
But teh rest I do think is quite possible. ^^ But I haven't watched the final episode yet, so I'll have to see if any of those questions will be answered in it. xD lol
By the way, the first two movies are also strongly connected. Obviously, Mewtwo reappears in the series, but the events of the second movie are referenced when Ash encounters another Lugia in the Whirlpool arc of Johto. I feel like we've also seen Sam's sketch book from the fourth movie appear in the background of the show as well.
On the other hand, when Ash encounters Eusine, he states he has seen Suicune -- this is not in reference to the fourth movie, but to one of the first episodes of the Johto series... But I suppose it could be re-interpreted as referring to the fourth movie.
The Hoenn movies, especially the first one, get really weird because that one has them travelling by car for seven days across Hoenn... Kinda bizarre. Haven't really gotten to the Sinnoh part of my chronological watchthrough yet, so not sure how they react to all of that. There's probably some other references I've forgotten about as well... But any contradictions I feel can be chalked up to that the show in general sometimes forgetting past events.
Seasons happening at a different rate is really interesting. Perhaps there are two different meanings/uses of the word "year" here, which would be two seperate words in the world of Pokémon, one being longer and used to measure people's age, the other being a smaller measure, measuring rotations and used for time measurement, i.e. Ash & Pikachu celebrating having met "one year ago" is not the same "one year of age"...
But then... seemingly there's been at least 3 winters by then - 1. Holiday Hi-Jynx, Christmas Night, and Stantler's Little Helpers, with the next winter happening between movie 3 and 4, with Delibird's Dilemma.
Ash's father is also mentioned in The Distant Blue Sky, which is set in the timeline of the newer movies.
As for the hair thing - Dawn and her mother, with their blue hair, is a prime example from the show itself.
IIRC the first three movies are considered canon but until now all the following movies were ignored by the show canon, partially because the first three movies were written by the first writer for the anime
Thinking more about the winters; there's been 3 winters, yeah. And with the seasons passing every month, each season would pass 3 times a year, so that lines up pretty well actually.
The only problem I can think of is a contradiction in the show itself -- I believe the Indigo League is also supposed to be set exactly 1 year after Ash begun, as an annual thing. It's what he was watching when he set out, was it not? Or maybe it's not annual. Maybe it is three times a year?
Regardless; we know Ash had to wait two months after "Showdown at the Po-ké Corral" for the tournament to happen. We also know from the novelization (iirc) that the first episode is set 10 days after Ash's birthday, on April 1st.
Last thing I want to bring up; I don't recall the exact wording, but is "Pikachu & Pichu" their 'first' anniversary, or simply their anniversary?
The XY protagonists are canonically the oldest protagonists at 15~16.
So Ash is at MINIMUM 14.5~ at the beginning of the XY series, and about 16 as of XYZ, which is why those got so mature.
So by your logic, Ash would be 11 in Sun and Moon. The anime is a whole different timeline from the games so your point is invalid. Plus, the timeline would be inconsistent because how did Ash go from being 15 to 11? How did he go from being champion in SM to a loser in XY?
@@ElectroBlastLuigi according to the writers, ho-oh did it
@@ElectroBlastLuigi Sun and Moon is a reboot.
It's a retcon because the producers felt like it, with no justification given for dropping the cast down to be younger.
There's only one Pokemon League tournament per year. That puts Satoshi at 15-16 in XY
@@priestesslucy3299 Cope. Your comment doesn't make sense and I've already explained why in my comment :/ I'm not surprised haters are still calling SM a "reboot" because they can and just don't like it.
@@ElectroBlastLuigi hater?
There's a lot to like about Sun and Moon. It's not my cup of tea but I certainly wouldn't describe myself as a hater.
I was addressing you asking how Sun and Moon could have been a flashback [your whole question of how Satoshi could be a loser in XY at 15-16 even though he became Champion at 11] and the answer is that it's not.
Sun and Moon happens after X and Y in the broader narrative of Satoshi's journey. The producers just decided they wanted 11 year old Satoshi again so they decided that he is.
Ashes father was mentioned at least 4 times. The latest is from his mom in journeys anime, when she said she was going to meet him, and Ash said he was coming too, but got side tracked with a ghost boy.
Could you please tell me the episode number or name or more or less when in journeys?
@@huh5950 I don't exactly remember the episode. I just remember it was being blown up cause in the episode before it, in the preview, alot of RUclipsrs were talking about Ash finally meeting his father. Which turned out to be a blue ball episode when it finally came out.
@@huh5950 I found it. It's the " Distant Blue Sky" is the name of the episode.
When you talk about Krabby, you’re not taking into consideration the fact that whilst he’s with Oak, he can still gain experience and level up.
WOW! Six years....How the time passes and what a journey to where you are now. Let's hope the new journey ahead will bring seven more fun and happy times.
could definitely be a retcon issue, but would like to point out in the original Japanese anime novelization from gen 1 era, it is mentioned that the reason we never hear of Ash's dad is because he and his grandfather both went out on their journeys and failed to become a Pokemon Master, so if this were still the case it couldn't be Bruno.
In my opinion, Pikachu's level doesn't get reset ever in the series.
He never "forgets" to use moves.
He never truely levels down... it's just his stats get messed up.
The unova arc reveals this the most. While Pikachu cannot do electrical attack on Snivy (cause their special attack has been turned to 0 ), their speed and attack are enough... though he loses cause Snivvy shennigans. (I highly doubt Snivvy was level 5 either.)
You could see the Snivvy and Pikachu fight as this.
a level 70+ Pikachu with drained PP, No special attack, Lowered stats and HP damage. vs a Level 10 Snivvy.
Add a lil luck and Ash loses.
Anyhow.... that is what I think.
in the alola arc pikachu learned a move though, he replaced electro ball with electroweb, the leveling down actually makes sense in that context because pikachu kept learning moves from the learnsets of later gens
@@Yamartimif we consider pokemon as actual creatures/animals, then there is no reason for them to suddenly stop learning.
I tend to see it as Pikachu’s electrical output getting trashed each time an electrical shenanigan happened. Pikachu’s lethality and skill seems largely attributed to its Thunderbolt and other high powered electric attacks, much less so than his Quick Attack or Iron Tail. Those moves are probably also affected by Pikachu’s electrical output, since it might use that electricity to power its muscles.
Essentially, his power output is in the pits and so all of his stats suffer for it until he can build it back up.
That said, I’m convinced his nature is Mild, since his special attacks can get insane but his defense has always been trash.
Another note. Once we get to the end of Alola, Pikachu has had multiple opportunities to control his electrical output, and by Journeys we commonly see him slapping his cheeks like he used to do when using a z move.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some of Pikachu’s attacks at the start of Journeys ended up being as powerful as a Gigavolt Havoc or 10million Volt Thunderbolt from a weaker Pikachu.
I mean, doesn't the Bruno theory also kind of fall apart when they meet in Master the Onixpected and they don't act like they know each other? IDK, if I was a 10 year old kid meeting my Dad who was also an E4 member, I'd want to show him off to my friends.
That assumes he knows/remembers. And of course, he could just be an uncle.
Wait, "winter is coming" was literal? I always assumed it was a metaphor for the horde of ice zombies or whatever.
Thing is, while there are a few references to "level", very few of them are talking about game level.
I think game level doesn't exist.... so Pokemon fights are more like boxing matches in the real world.
And while Pikachu can fight physically stronger mom (like lighter and weaker people can fight stronger people), he can also be taken down by weaker mom (like how lighter boxers can be taken down by fellow light boxers that are worse).
I think "lightball" as an item is a good representative... Pikachu can take down the strong, but still be crushed by the weak....
Toby's hair looks like it had electrical shenanigans.
Counter Point - In Journeys You see Ash's Gym Badges from gens 3-6 plus alolan champions trophy. If it was a diffrent Ash have all the gym badges.
People could say Well He could of obtained them in the past and we see it as a memory. If they kept creating different Verisons of Ash why end it now why not reset him again in Paldea and give me a new starter. Simple Ash has reached the end of journey, dumbing down again like he did in Black and White would be a insult. He beaten most of the regions champions minus Alder.
@@lemiaofchampions because ash kept his kanto and johto badges pinned to his clothes which are in a. Drawer or in his closet
@@lemiaofchampions he wasn’t “dumbed down”
I’m convinced, Bruno is Ash’s dad confirmed!
For Krabby tho any chance being left at oaks lab similar to being left at daycare? Levels up the moon but maybe at a decreased rate than the daycare.
This actually makes sense cause if you think about it Ash's Pokemon left at the lab occasionally learns new moves when they returned to battle. Example: Noctowl learning Air Slash, Torkoal learning Heat Wave, Krookodile learning Aerial Ace and etc.
Something I think may show Pikachu's power level lowering throughout the series is the Event Ash Cap Pikachu and I think those are the levels it is sent back to in each generation.
And of course, it was easy to work around Johto since Ash never changed his hat in Johto and since Pikachu was also never reset or had it's power reduced in any way.
Also this theory about Pikachu's level is perfect at level 80. It is slightly low, but that is also just nearly perfect for the level of Red's Pikachu as well. They aren't the same character of course, but that would be a nice number to end it on since they are both the main protagonist of Pallet Town.
One of the things that I never see pointed out, is in the anime it explicitly mentions at one point. I don't remember when honestly. But it mentions that the Pokemon League tournaments only happen once a year. And even if they all take place on different dates that fact alone would easily have to put Ash at no less than 16 based on his just overall travels in each region.
Ie Krabby though, isn’t the episode “dig those diglett” when Jesse & James wanted to evolve Koffing and Ekans, wasn’t it implied there was a method called “emotionally induced evolution”? Obviously something specific to the anime, so maybe krabby being overwhelmed that it won, evolved due to the emotions it was feeling?
I’d have to watch the diglett episode again though I think.
Isn't that similar to just having max bond and then evolving? Or is this more like adrenaline IRL, where people under stressful circumstances can do thinsg they couldn't normally, like lift cars.
Ash knows who is his father. If he ever met him in the show, he would recognize him and say he is his father. He didn't even knew Bruno in person, so Bruno is not his father
Pretty sure Ash is a robot, the Pokemon league and Professor Oak designed him and he was "raised" by his mom so he doesn't know and can participate in the league as a "kid". They made sure he was given Pikachu to recharge him when he gets shocked. He's super strong, as we know, due to robot frame and gears.
They basically reset him before each region or release a new model (explaining design change) and just transfer over some of his memories (usually of old friends, but only recently have they transferred his battle skills)
School of hard knocks thing was referring to a battle simulator
Good video! 😊
9:13 oh hey feats of super human strength, ash has random moments where he does seemingly inhuman acts of strength
3:03 they wanted to try something different
It wasn’t dumbed down it was for new audiences and ash was enthusiastic about the new pokemon
This video was fantastic
Silver is Ash's Grandfather and Bruno is most likely Ash's Uncle because the main series did hint towards Ash already knowing his father is so that rules out Bruno!
Giovanni was already debunked on being Ash's Dad and Ash's Father is most likely to be a descendant of Sir Aaron because of Ash's Aura Powers which means that Ash & Riley are cousins!
Hey Toby wishing you the best!
Aw ty you to
Takeshi Shudo said that Ash’s father was a failed Pokémon trainer though.
But Ash knows his dad, and he met Bruno.... and he did not say he was his dad....
“Hey, VSauce! Is Pikachu… goated with the sauce?”
On Ash’s father and the Mr. Mime joke, I swear there was an episode in the first or second season where Ash and Gary are at Professor Oaks being given an assignment when there’s a knock at the door.
Oak asks Gray to answer it to which he does, he then turns and says, “Hey Ash, your dad is here to see you.”
Ash is like, “My dad?” He runs to the door and is like, “HEY DA…Mr. Mime?” Mr. Mime greats him and offers him a bento box which is his lunch his mom made and asked Mime to deliver it.
Ash being Ash asks Mr. Mime, “Mr. Mime, by any chance was dad here with you?” Mr. Mine looks confused and shrugs he doesn’t know.
I cannot find the episode anywhere and starting to think was it was a short parody I saw on WB. But nevertheless, it’s funny for it’s a clear gag the Pokémon company is also on the Mr. Mime is more then a Pokémon to Ash’s mom joke.
Cool video, new video topic ; Who will ash end up with. Senera or dawn
Loving the Pokemon Trucker look
Do you think that maybe Ash's Pikachu was at a super high level when he first obtained it in the very first episode, which is why it wouldn't obey Ash, then when it used the massive thunderbolt on the flock of Spearow its level dropped to a point where it would obey Ash?
I'm 27 and I have quite literally watched the pokemon anime my entire life, ever since I was a child - all seasons - all episodes - been there done that, I have seen it all - I was dreading this weekend for so many reasons, not only is the current MHA season airing its final episode.... but more mournfully as it is the final episode of Ash' journey - I personally really loved the final hurah Ash's pokemon and companions received through out the final episodes - I still haven't watched the last episode because I'm still going through the emotions, *_it legitimately feels like I'm saying farewell to an old friend whom I have known for my entire life_*
Your friend's not going anywhere buddy, you still have all the years of episodes that have come out to date.
Digging the new hair! 🙌🏻
Damn fruit came in clutch there. When I ask questions they're usually the one that responds so I also just want to shout out fruit.
1000+ episode for us but doesn't mean years for ash.. maybe just 1 year
I personally think that ash became a pokemon (maybe when mew and mewtwo clashed) (or that was how ho ho granted his wish) along with only a few years passing 1 ep is equivalent to 1 day so no one has noticed yet this is based on ashes increased understanding of pokemon in contrast to everyone else's ablity to understand pokemon.
Ash's journeys through gen 1 - 8 could take place in about 2 and a half or 3 years.
Ash went to MT. Silver, and this is foreshadows few interesting things.
4:05 If we presume that TPC actually had/has a multi-generational plan and isn't winging it with the Pokémon multiverse (hah, no), then this could also be the mega evolution timeline split. with gens 1-4 being the non-mega timeline, and 5+ being the mega evolution timeline with it being unknown or newly discovered during unova then running face-first into the phenomenon in kalos.
I get how the electrical shenanigans work, strictly for electric attacks. It still has Quick Attack and Iron Tail, which have no involvement with it's electrical power.
But don’t muscles rely on the body’s electricity? Electric types are known for speed, so there might be some logical connection between the increased ability to command lightning and the Pokémon’s physical abilities.
Hopefully Pikachu mastering it's Gigantamax form has 'fixed' his XP leak issue. Between it being a Partner Pikachu, and having the G-max factor might be why it has such a history of inconsistent performance. Two 'uncommon' infinity energy traits that caused fluctuating capabilities.
Well about age maybe Pokemon universe's earth takes more time to complete revolution around sun than aur earth and maybe that's why he's still 10 year old
You know how Lt. Surge fought in a war in Kanto… He’s not that old. Theres a good chance Ash’s dad didn’t come home from the war. Tho I’m absolutely fine with it being Bruno
Could also well be the case :D
Honestly for Pikachu, could we speculate a anime exclusive ability similar to Battle Bond? Like Mirror Stats or something? Like on swap in, it copies the opponents stats?
I'd definitely agree with the end result of Pikachu being at or close to level 100 at this point, but, Toby, if we're going to use game mechanics to explain the show, you're missing out on a big one when calculating that 15x experience multiplier - pokemon in daycare gain passive experience as their trainer walks! The explanation being that instead of being kept static in the PC, they're in a place where they can run around freely and play/train with other pokemon in the daycare, which, Oak's lab definitely seems to be providing the same conditions. If Krabby gained enough experience to reach at least level 28, this even matches the games, too, since pokemon in daycare won't evolve - they need to be taken out by the trainer and used in a fight first
Just another theory I came up with.
What if there was an experiment done to ashes Pikachu to remove his level limit of 100.
An experiment could explain an inconsistent level. In programming, if you take a variable that is an unsigned integer, and increase it past its integer limit, it will reset to 0.
Also, maybe there is another reason Pikachu didn't want to evolve.
Others my not like Bruno being the dad but it would explains Ash's strength like jumping high and tossing a log with such precision.
Deep down, I’m certain that Bruno makes the most sense as his father. Don’t @ me.
Know what you mean 👍 I share that thought also.
For his age, I think he ends the Series of his Saga at least.......... 18
I love the Ash being between 13-14 and the Ash Pikachu level to reach lvl 100. I didn't understand the Bruno theory tho.
I always kinda just figured they have a different amount of days to a year
Levels do exist in the anime cause in the Kanto episodes when ash and the gang got caught in a fog and ended up at a school the bullies was bullying the one kid about pidgey and such and he mentioned about pidgeot evolving at lvl 32
Maybe the Gyarados and Tyranitar were underleveled just like the "illegal pokemon" in gen 1 where Lance had a level 45 Dragonite or something
That's a game feature that should be brought back and be more widely available, not just fish a level 10 Gyarados or so like in old games
I want to be able to find a a rare level 10 Golbat in the wild etc
I also want to see gym leaders using a lot of illegal moves to surprise us, like a Pikachu using scratch for example
Was krabby at Oak's lab between when he caught it and his fight in the pokemon league? It might have just grinded up there like how we can grind pokemon in the daycare center
I would personally love to see that fighting professor in the new series with the Captain Pikachu be Ash's father. They don't look alike, but oh well.
Bruno did question Ash about it what it means and takes to be a Pokémon master. I admit, I was very skeptical of this theory, but I rather like it now.
Toby!!! I solved the riddle. Ash is 35 and is reliving his life from 10 to 13 years old over and over until his wish from ho-oh is finally granted to become the pokemon master. He all but says it on episode 8 or 9 of pokemon journeys. He has full memory of the Kanto saga before the first "reboot". He and oak are fully aware of this.
I think that Pikachu was actually a much higher level at the beginning of Journeys and here’s my reasoning. During the Honnen arc Pikachu merged with the Blue Orb while trying to getting it back from Team Aqua giving it a fragment of Kyogar’s power. I would assume that Pikachu’s level would spike from that.
Ash and Pikachu thank you for wonderful memories ❤ and goodbye you will live in our hearts ❤😢
I feel like the last three movies are sorta the in-world bio-pics about the first Alola League champ. They're just condensing things for the audience.
I feel like we already knew the main movies were canon because both Mewtwo movies tied into episodes.
Hey Toby what about those lightning bolt cheek marks, wouldn't ash's father also have those cheek marks
Maybe Ash's family has a type of dementia that's different than ours and it triggers every couple months/years and by the time Ash dad sees him again, doesn't recognize him, but see similar face in the other one u mentioned.
The directors confirm it’s the same canon lol
Also In scarlet and violet we got the Pikachu raid with light ball at lv100
Counter point about the levels calculations: its explicitly stated that Ash has off screen battles
It’s possible the multiplier for experience takes that into account.
The pokemon anime showed what the final message was.
Never give up because you can remain 10 years old for over 20 years to finish your goals.
Another fun thing to think about. I'd Ash is 10 in unova and kalos. He'd be just turning 11 in Alola. The canonical age you have to be to take part in the trials. And I have no problem believing Unova Ash started early because even in the anime there are much younger children with pokemon. So that part also holds up. I don't know if this is true or not but I vaguely remember something saying that Gloria and Victor are 13 at the beginning of Sw/Sh. So with journeys being in that time frame Ash's age lining up 13-14 with the games protagonists makes perfect sense. And yeah matpats theory from Pikachu was the same. And I agree that Bruno is the best candidate for Ash's father.
"Spiky" hair irl isn't genetic, but curls etc. are. Spiky is an anime version of curly tbh and I feel like it would count as genetically inherited.
Debunking the season for weather changes. In game they were positioned based more. Except places like galar it's more random.
Ash's dad is mentioned a fourth time in these last 11 episodes as well.
small nitpick here, not sure if anyone has seen that unova episode recently, but having a 1 and a half year old in the house has made me rewatch that episode at least 10 times, and its pretty clear that pikachu lost only because he lost his electric powers through the lighting strike he got from zekrom. Am i missing something after this?
Hm, interesting, these were some very interesting Theories and I say you did very well with presenting them,
Still is it really fair to use the Games to figure something out in the Anime?
Also, has Levels really been brought up enough times to really be considered as a thing in the Anime?
Anyway, this was a good video, keep up the great work and I will look forward to see what you cover next.
It's more like real life... You can assign levels to people based on their observed capabilities, but it isn't like a game where it's deterministic. Your 'level' would fluctuate and rise/fall depending on many factors.
@@DanielMWJ Hm, I guess, fair point.
For why Pikachu seems week every new region, maybe they were doing something similar to how Samus loses her powered up suit every Metroid game to start her from square one.
All interesting theories. But with Ash's age, the canon is that he's 10 years old. From Bulbapedia: "Kunihiko Yuyama, creative supervisor for Pokémon Journeys: The Series and executive director for prior series, has stated in a interview with Daniel Arsham in Arsham's Pokédex, a collection of Pokémon-related artwork, that Ash does not age because the anime is set in an endless early summer."
I know it sounds really stupid, but it's what the powers that be decided on and he'll forever be 10 years old.
Also, original series Ash is still the same Ash from Best Wishes onward and it's been proven during the first episode of Sun and Moon, where he gives his Kalos Pokémon to Prof. Oak in a flashback. Not to mention all the flashbacks in Journeys showing memories from previous regions.
He will def still be the protagonist for the movies for sure.
16:31 which should NOT be possible since Tyranitar IS A FREAKING GROUND TYPE MEANING ELECTRIC MOVES HAVE NO EFFECT!
You know winter is a stand in for war right? Especially in game of thrones and other genre literature. Like the expression “sweet summer child” like means sweet naive peaceful child. Winter is a stand in for wartime, or hard times or someone with a winter mind is hardened or jaded. Nothing to do with an actual season lol
