I’ve been binging on your videos for the past 2 months and have slowly started decluttering. Taking off work tomorrow to finish what I started in the closet and tackle the bathroom and kitchen cabinets. The focused calm vibe comes across in the videos and is very motivating. You need to get a lobby set (dustpan with long handle and broom combo), it makes cleaning up crumbs so much easier when you don't have to bend over all the time. Your stove is beautiful, I don't think I've ever seen a vintage stove in such good condition.

With the smallest bathroom in the history of the world.
I first washed dishes, fed cats and made tea, then, started on bathroom.
I listened to you the entire time.
I got the sink cleaned, the toilet cleaned, the clutter moved into the hall.
Then, a friend called and I lost the video! So, I cant clean anymore.
Lol jk.
I will find that video again. But, truthfully, i needed a break. I'm drinking my rea and watching THIS video!

Great video. It's motivating! I try to not get my house to a place where it takes a whole day to clean. I now try to unpack from trips right away. And do the dishes right away. It helps me not get overwhelmed, now that my house is decluttered. I'm fighting so hard now to reclutter it so I'm constantly doing small declutters now. I really am fighting the urge to buy more and bring more into the house. It's a constant battle.
Yeah, it takes a lot of awareness to not re-clutter!! I make myself pause before purchasing at least 72 hours. And of course, asking myself. Do I need this? Or will this add value to my home/life?
As a big fan of you and following your channel, I feel like you give SO much to others- - that garage clean out was seriously next level and I thought you were on vacation girl?! - - so I totally understand neglecting home life afterwards. I think it''s whatever fills your cup during times in your life. And sometimes the things we give ourselves are the hardest to muster up the energy for. You are awesome always!

Love a good deep clean of a living space. The great thing is that with a small space you have to have a spot for everything or it doesn’t work. I’m never sure where all the extra bits and pieces come from, but they follow us into our homes. Your place looks lovely, shiny and clean and ready for another round of Carla adventures. ❤❤❤
I had a very similar stove in my apartment in Echo Park. Isn't it just the greatest? I love the tiles on the floor, I think in another video you said you installed them and they're peel and stick. They are so pretty! I like how Samson is unfazed when you remove the rug - he'll just lie on the rug pad instead. Oh, now you have to vacuum it a 2nd time. They are so lovable even when they are not exactly helping the cleanup effort. :)

A small tip from Greece: we wash rugs like yours in the bathtub..
many times during the year. Just fill it with water and cloth detergent...let it soak ...then rinse it...let it drip..and hang it on the balcony rails, as you alreadt did.

I can totaly relate to the not unpacking thing. Whenever I return from a trip and didn't unpack immeadietly, there is high chance that I won't do this for weeks, stuff will continue to pile up until cleaning floor would be impossible... I also love it every time when someone shows that you need to make more mess to have it clean in the end. My mother [who never did a deep clean] used to argue with little me, that I am making bigger mess, when she told me to clean [even tough it was part of the cleaning]
Yeah, I left my bag on the floor and just opened it up and kept taking things out here and there. Such a bad habit. My friend said I was just leaving it packed and ready for my next trip. 😂

Perfect timing for this video. I was away for two weeks dog sitting for a friend. My 17 yo grandson and husband were on their own. I washed 6 loads of laundry, vacuumed and am now trying to finish up dishes, microwave, and laminate floors. It is satisfying watching someone else do the same.

This was perfect timing. Our family has been sick with covid going on 2 weeks now and I haven't been able to clean. I feel like the apartment has spiraled out of control lol. Such a good video Carla. Thanks for the inspo, I needed it badly. I have been trying to sort out and declutter my bedroom and I can only do it in bursts...it gets overwhelming quickly. I enjoyed seeing you take breaks. It's unrealistic that we can do everything in a short space of time.
Yeah, it’s totally unrealistic to think you can do it all in a day. Especially when you’re in decluttering cleaning, organizing all in one. Gotta take breaks for food. Got to take out Samson got a rest in between handle calls or emails work stuff etc… you’ll get there and it will feel amazing though with your bedroom❤️

This was really motivating thanks. Im not a tidy person i stuggle so much with it. Im always in awe that you can just chuck all rubbish in one bag?!! Do you guys just have one bin?? Dont you have to recycle?? We have bins for paper plastic glass metal textiles cardboard food waste and garden waste. You cant just put it all in one bin in the uk. Takes up a lot of time but i cant even remember a time now where this wasnt a thing.

You are one of my fav RUclipsrs - it's eery how similar our lives are (at least from what I see on here!) my place can go from cluttered to deep cleaned back to cluttered in a week. Your style is similar to mine too. I'm in the market for a new couch - where'd you get yours? I assume it's out of my budget, but I absolutely love it!

This has given me the motivation I needed to clean my own place!
I just had an “Aha” moment. Every time I watch one of these “cleaning my messy room” type of videos, I’m always surprised when they grab a Target bag and start gathering all of the trash that is laying around. Since I already have a trash can in EVERY room, I realized that I NEVER have to do this.🙌🏻 Most people think of having a big trash can in the kitchen and a little one in the bathroom and that’s it. (So if you’re tired or feeling lazy,it just stays on the coffee table.) So….get a couple of Dollar store,plastic trash cans,line them with Target bags,then put them inside something decorative and attractive like a larger wicker basket and then put them in EVERY room!
There is nothing like a deep clean and the adrenaline rush you get just gives you more energy! The hard part, for me, is starting. You are such an inspiration, Carla! Don’t forget that huge garage clean out you did in North Carolina (I think his name was Brad?) - What a long day of hard work. No wonder you were feeling pooped when you got home! Everything in due time, my friend. ❤
yes!! i think the exhaustion from the trip hit me later. i was on adrenaline that whole week burning the candle at both ends..after that epic garage clean out we did a dinner party that night! those declutters w friends are so fun for me and give me a lot of energy but then yeah i think it all caught up with me when i got to my home cocoon! 😅😄❤️

this is my house...but worse!! i like that you do small motivations...it gets me feeling that i did accomplish something. i am handicapped so dishes and making one counter clean will tire me out...but there is your small motivation..i will rest for an hour then try to do more small things i n the kitech--maybe even another counter!
I love so much that you show us when you have these times when things get out of hand. Since decluttering most of my house, I do better but also still have the same happen. Why? I don't know for sure but some days I just don't want to be "tidy." Some days I hate the word tidy - ha! The free-spirit-me just rebels once in a while and I go into denial. I'm pretty sure I need to confess this to my therapist 🙃😬🙄🤪
