Thanks for the video! Not sure if that's something you'd like to do but I would personally love to see a video with all these small jobs you mentioned you still have to do: fixing the handle, the box, sell the instruments, erase the laptop data, etc. A compilation of productive things.
Pro organizer here. Great job on the closet. One thing I would recommend is to put the toilet paper and paper towels down low and the canned goods at eye level. It will be easier to see what you have and not have to squat or bend down to hunt.
This is inspiring to really go through my closet. I have so many clothes I don’t need anymore. I’m 52 now and I’ve had some of these clothes since I was 41 lol
I love how realistic you were in this, I can’t Tell You how many times I’m like yes! I’m motivated then you take all Your stuff out and then it’s like wellllpp now I’m overwhelmed…
Great end result! Seems like you've gotten through almost your entire living space now. After you have had the time to live in your new tidy space, could it be an idea to do follow-up videos for each room/area and see what has worked and what needs another decluttering?
Thank you for being real. It is so comforting that you show your struggles, and thought and solution processes. It takes the shame away. I have hooks on the back of most of my doors. Takes care of coats, purses, in between clothes, laundry items that get hung up vs. the dryer, etc.
You really glowed after cleaning out your closet! I am so bad at building stuff, too. Kudos to you for getting that done. It looks so great. So satisfying when you rolled your washing machine in there. You’ve inspired me yet again. Thx TCP!
You are so good Carla. I would’ve kept those old shelves at the back of the closet in case. I’m saying this as I have about 15 shelves sitting in my basement from our kitchen cabinets since we replaced them with drawers. I’m going to put them on craigslist free today!!
I really enjoy your Decluttering style. I also appreciate how you not only explain the process before you start but what you are getting rid of why and how. Thanks again for another super motivational video!
When it comes to the books in your closet, you can stack them on floating shelves over your TV. That would look nice and you would open up more space in the closet. Just an idea ... : )
Yeah, I would store the books in the living room. I think there are many possible solutions from floating shelves somewhere to one of those book tower shelvings things etc. That would give more space in the closet for the ugly stuff and in my opinion books add coziness to a living room.
Yeah, books in a closet....feel so sorry for them. Either read ' em over and over again, then I' d put them on shelves in the living room or sleeping room, or after only reading them once give away. Have to admit switched from reading printed books to Kindle.
I recently got rid of a Longchamp carrier bag too so I am relived I am not the only one to hold on to those bags. When you rolled your washer into the closet it was so satisfying. Here’s to your next project 🍸
I never knew there was such a thing as a portable washing machine till your channel. I wish I knew about it years ago. I have two of the Closetmaid storage racks in my home. They are total game changers. Great job on decluttering & organizing. Having seen your most recent videos, I must say you've come a long way. 😊
Yeah, I only know the tiny chinese one, with the size of a basket (also foldable like s basket). Well, in Germany we don't have build-in closets. If we had those, I'd probably use of these portable washing machines too. Cute.

You said early this video that it had stagnant energy and needed to be cleaned- and also that's why houses get haunted because its dead energy just sitting there. While I might like the ghosts (my childhood home that my parents built, I am the second owner), THIS is sooooo true. Like my brothers and sisters cleaned out a lot of stuff from this house after Mt dad passed, bit also left a lot of stuff. I cried taking screws out of cabinet hinges for goodness sake! Lol. But i just heard you say this and it hit me, this house if filled with stagnant energy that I am trying to overcome! Wow! I needed that!
I definitely keep fancy bags!!! I use them Incase I need to take something somewhere. Or as a gift bag.. I even used one to keep my underwear in on top of a small dresser while I was trying to decide on my bedroom suite and while I was waiting on the 12 weeks it took for it to come in.. The bag looked nice sitting out🤷🏼♀️
I used to keep all the fancy bags and gift bags and even grocery bags. I would use the nice clothing store/gift bags for gifts, but I've stopped collecting them now. I still keep grocery bags when I get them cuz I use them as trash bags for smaller trash cans and when I clean my cat box.
Carla love your content and your baby is adorable. Keep doing what you do, as an organizer myself we have to take a day or two to declutter our own spaces. I can't stand messes!!!

@TheCarlaProject would be so cool ! Where can I send a private message? I want tell you where I saw this kind of thing and I am not sure if it is ok to write here in comments.
It looks so much neater! I love that over the door thing! I've stopped hanging on to bags, but because of pandemic shopping, I've started holding on to shipping boxes. WHY WHYYYYY!!!
Listening and part watching while I’m decluttering my paperwork x gosh it feels good x love the organisation unit x I would definitely keep items for a back up... I’m a mini prepper and it’s the time to have items stalled just in case of power loss etc...

Great job and so inspiring! I would have put the paper towels toward the bottom of the rack and the smaller can food items a little farther up. Nice that the shelf is adjustable to the way you want it.
Question! Just wondered if you managed to get you washing machine out past the new door shelving? It looked like you might have had difficulty width wise xx
My closet needs some work this almost makes it seem like its gonna be fun! Gonna put me on some Foo Fighters and Delta Parole and then I will try my best. Thanks for the inspiring video!

I loved what you said about the ghost energy in the house.!!! You're absolutely right with that metaphor and I totally relate to it. 😊👍 Love from Greece 🇬🇷💖
Looks great! Can’t do Tide either-gross 🤢. Fragrance free laundry detergent is great. Check out Earth Breeze laundry sheets. Literally the size of a file envelope! No more water based laundry soap and frees up so much space! Even the cardboard packaging is recyclable! ❤
If you have room to replace the damaged shelf you’ll have options to space things so you can see them easier. Maybe when you’ve sold the musical instrument.
I also keep bags. Sometimes I go through and ditch some. But I definitely still have plenty. But the cute ones that are kinda common like Starbucks ( back in the day ) I would send home leftovers in them. I used to use them to bring my work to lunch in when I worked. I remember I worked at Dillard's in the summer in high school and would get cute bags from the makeup ladies :) I love that Samson has his own shelf.. I cracked up when I thought it was low enough that he might help himself to some extras 😃
HAHAHA he would love it if that were possible. Ya know I never even heard of Dillards until this past year! I saw an influencer on instagram mention where she got her boots and went to buy them on Dillards online. It sounds like our Bloomingdales (department store where I worked at right after high school :)
@@TheCarlaProject Growing up in Iowa we never had a big store like Dillard's so it was pretty exciting going there in the summers. I loved that store and would get all my clothes there before coming back home for school, since I liked to have unique clothes. Living in WA state now we have Macy's and Nordstrom's. But of course they never quite live up to the times when we were teenagers and were obsessed with clothes. I've only been to Bloomingdales once in Chicago. We've never lived by one, but I liked it.
After a particularly fun trip, I had a lovely collection of bags... fanned them out on the bed and took a photo. Brings backs the great memories while only taking up a sliver of digital space.

We think so alike with decluttering! My boyfriend says it's all trash...I consider it wasteful to throw it all away, so I donate/sell or give to fam or friends 😄 also electronic stuff I get rid of- I'm the same way.... Gotta remove hard drives first etc. And find out where to take things like that
I use the clear over the door shoe pocket organizers for organizing cleaners, toiletries & even in the kitchen for snacks & spices…they go over the door so they don’t take up space & they’re out of sight when the doors closed
I used to. I've been slowly decluttering things like this over the last 5 years. Most recently I found a bag from Victoria's Secret and I'm like, "was I really planning on using that to give someone a birthday gift?!" 😆
Love the transformation. I'm surprised you would get rid of the wood shelf and the fridge shelf. I'm presuming those are the landlord's. I can definitely see not using them, but keeping them for the next tenant.
Well done on the closet! Looks so nice and neat. Kinda sad to see the books in there rather than out in the open, but I understand it's not everyone's cup of decor tea :D Now you can move around your kitchen easier, which is amazing. Re: the door knob, that hole looks pretty bad, you may need to have it fixed with wood filler. A bit more time consuming, but it'd last you longer than glueing it on. Alternatively, you may try a cabinet door knob? Now that you have a proper power drill there's more options! Have a great week!
I miss having a proper bookcase for storing books but I definitely have several out on my nightstand constantly 😍 oh and good call about the wood filler!! will see what I can work out :) have a great week too!
Amazing ❤ It seems to me that your books and games take up quite a lot of space in your closet. How about a decorative hanging bookcase in your livingroom maybe with doors if you don't want the books visable?
Very nice job, love the door shelf unit a hit. You keep much of the things and also put the washer in, look how neat look now. Congrats, just keep doing your videos I love it and you encourage us to try new things.
This looks amazing!! Also love that you spelled T-r-e-a-t-s cause honestly… if you know, you know. I also appreciated it since my pups are laying next to me. 🤣 lol
@@rh7968 never heard of it. I use an eco friendly plant based detergent called Ecos. My boyfriend says it smells like nothing, lol. But it's mild enough for me to use with no problems. I will look up dropps. Thanks for the tip.
You did a great job reorganising your closet, it looks fantastic. Im another building challenged person, I prefer to watch a video rather than read instructions which never make sense. Im a mess trying to build Ikea items
Michael’s craft store has these wooden crates for like ten dollars.. I use them to store my books and games. That way when I move I won’t need to get boxes for them, they’ll already be in the crates.
I have not stopped thinking about it since the last video, and am soooo happy to see you got a vacuum cleaner! Yay Carla!! ❤️ Where did the living room carpet go?
oh that's my friends vacuum cleaner!! she let me borrow it hahha. It was a shark vacuum and was amazing..I used it to vacuum the rug in living room and rolled it up to do some vacuuming underneath.
I have one of those over door hanging things I got my son to put it together but I filled it with spices and all that stuff until a sister of mine told me to keep tea towels and paper towels on it’s better with these as the door is part of the kitchen and not on a pantry door Good luck with yours 😊
Lol we spell out T-R-E-A-T-S around out two cat too! 😂. My moms house was built in the 1920s (she lives in Gardena), all her bedroom doors have the glass door knobs and they were there when they (my belated stepdad), the glass door knobs started to be lose or just fell out, they finally had someone come in and fix all the door knobs but the hardware was just old, so awhile later they just picked our new door knobs that look antique and new hardware for the doors so they’ll stay shut and new locks. Her house is Spanish style with a terra cotta roof, and a lot of cabinet space in the hallway and in the bedrooms, she had all the old peach color carpet taken out, all wood floor under the old carpet and right now she’s getting all the wood flooring fixed, sanded down to be smoothed out and a clear wood stain to last longer. Thats a nice thing about L.A., the older homes and apartments have charm to them and looks great when remodeled. Hope all the ghosts went away with the clutter and dust! 😉😁
i grew up right next door to gardena!! my dream house is spanish style 1920s!!!! and i would love to just update and do cosmetic repairs like what your mom has done. gardena has some gorgeous homes. it's on my vision board to own a 1920s spanish style home one day....thanks for this comment!💕

Amazing ❤
It seems to me that your books and games take up quite a lot of space in your closet. How about a decorative hanging bookcase in your livingroom maybe with doors if you don't want the books visable?
That's a great idea!
Very nice job, love the door shelf unit a hit. You keep much of the things and also put the washer in, look how neat look now. Congrats, just keep doing your videos I love it and you encourage us to try new things.
Thanks so much!
This looks amazing!! Also love that you spelled T-r-e-a-t-s cause honestly… if you know, you know. I also appreciated it since my pups are laying next to me. 🤣 lol
🤣🤣 too funny
Wow, you really had a tough time getting started this time, huh? 😅 Glad you got into the groove eventually ❤
Great job! Always hard getting started but the result is alway so worth it!
It really is! Thanks Tysha!
As a migraine sufferer, I too have issues with Tide detergent. Heavily perfumed anything can be a trigger for me. Great video.
exactly!! I just can't be around anything synthetic or super fragranced!
Try dropps pods
@@rh7968 never heard of it. I use an eco friendly plant based detergent called Ecos. My boyfriend says it smells like nothing, lol. But it's mild enough for me to use with no problems. I will look up dropps. Thanks for the tip.
Looks great! Thank you for sharing your journey!
thanks for watching sandy!💕
As usual you look like a radiant goddess even when you're cleaning on your hands and knees and busting ghosts!
You did a great job reorganising your closet, it looks fantastic. Im another building challenged person, I prefer to watch a video rather than read instructions which never make sense. Im a mess trying to build Ikea items
IKEA furniture is the hardest 😂
Good job!
Your apartment is very spacious! Older buildings have more storage and charm than new buildings that have non of the above😂😂😂😂
Michael’s craft store has these wooden crates for like ten dollars.. I use them to store my books and games. That way when I move I won’t need to get boxes for them, they’ll already be in the crates.
so smart!
I have not stopped thinking about it since the last video, and am soooo happy to see you got a vacuum cleaner! Yay Carla!! ❤️
Where did the living room carpet go?
oh that's my friends vacuum cleaner!! she let me borrow it hahha.
It’s great isn’t it!
The good thing and bad thing about doing a decluttering, organizing and cleaning out is that everything is on you.
truth!!
I might just have to keep watching you... i want to know what you did with the old drill 😊
