    Viofo is getting better i just wish they have a cloud feature that would make it the best class dashcam in the current line up

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback! Viofo appears focused on providing the essential features needed in a dash cam, rather than these advanced features. BlackVue still stands tall as the go-to for a cloud connection.

    This didn't address the single most important issue: what about readability of licence plates? I am kinda worried in that context that you did not mention 60 FPS..... it is 2023 ;)

    • @Bacnow
      @Bacnow Год назад +9

      Every review I’ve seen has shown this model against ALL the flagships and the VIOFO slaughters them all! 60fps, 30fps, 4k, 2k, 1080p…doesn’t really matter! At this time, there is no dashcam that excels at reading license plates like the 139 Pro and it’s not even close!

    Looks like a great camera. Viofo appears to be leapfrogging Thinkware. This is coming from a guy who is/was a Thinkware fanboy 😂! 🇺🇸 🇨🇦

    How many hours of recording will we get on a 256 GB card, assuming we set the front camera at 4k/30fps and the rear at 2k/30fps

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад +3

      Good question, though there can be a lot of factors at play, including the bitrate, and the file length you've set. It's also worth noting that the rear camera is only 1080p, not 2k. I would expect roughly 8 hours of recording with this camera on average, for an in-depth look check out this page: support.viofo.com/support/solutions/articles/19000109194-how-long-could-32-64-128-256gb-microsd-card-record-

    i heard it doesnt notify u when the memory card is full, is this true?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад

      This is true, and customary for dash cams, since it automatically overwrites exiting footage in a continuous loop.

    Does the dash cam run solid while using 512 GB micro sd card? I personally doubt it.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад

      Both ourselves and VIOFO directly have tested this camera with 512GB SD cards and found no issues! We've received no negative feedback from the community either, and the A139 Pro has been out for a few months now.

    Dash cam not working.
    I just purchased a Viofo A139 pro, after many reviews I settled on this unit.
    And after 3 days many rounds with brused ribs from laying on my car seal .
    The problem was the unit would work intermittently would not stay on.
    The fix was the battery limits switch would shut it down in park mode. So pay attention to your battery voltage I had to put switch to the lowest voltage for it to stay on.
    It seems simple and stupid right , well it took me 3 days to figure it out , I hope this will save some poeple from a frustrating install.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад

      Sorry to hear this turned into such a headache for you. Yes, it is very important to consider what voltage your vehicle's battery is at, as with a weaker car battery the cut-off can be reached very quickly leading to issues like this.

  • @sdshawn29

    You are so right about these dash cams, I bought a viofo a139 pro 2ch a year ago and I hate it 400 dollars I paid for it and it has missed every I mean every close call I've had in my car I have no idea why it only record clips and not constantly from when I start my car to when I turn it off same goes for the front and rear cameras they record when ever they want and not at the same time or in sinc.
    My final straw was yesterday I got a ticket for a illegal lane change that I know I did nothing wrong but the rear camera footage is what needed and the one thing you can count on is this camera will not record anything you bought it for. I'm sending this pile back and blowing it up on RUclips maybe save someone from this scam called dash cams should be called scam cams..

    Nice short & sweet review I might pass on it cause your last vid said it's not best for hot areas. One thing I wish you guys talked about is how long it takes to download clips & does the camera alert you when something or one hits your vehicle low bit-rate & energy saving should be a standard for all dashcams time lapse is kinda not good it doesn't have audio which is important. On the topic of the app make sure you check reviews on it could help to see it's gonna be a pain in the butt (BlackVue) Another thing for dashcams that don't have screens is companies need to have their app be perfect or near it, there shouldn't be a reason we are pulling our hair out to just download, view some clips

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback Captain! As the wifi network for the A139 Pro is 5ghz instead of 2.4ghz in other VIOFO models, the video download and streaming should be quicker than before, and relatively quick overall. The camera does not notify you of a hit in parking mode, though it will record it, and it does have a low-bitrate parking mode, though no energy saving mode. It is definitely important to have an app with no hiccups for a screen-less dash cam VIOFO tends to keep their app to the essentials to avoid creating too much hassle.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад

      Hi there. Unfortunately VIOFO cameras are unable to provide remote notification to your phone. This would be a feature of cloud dash cam systems, such as premium Thinkware or BlackVue systems.

    • @2URGSE

    So basically if one would get carjacked there’d be no way to get those files?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад

      Since all footage is stored on the SD card inside the camera, yes this is the case, as it is for the vast majority of cameras. If you would like footage that is safely backed up to the cloud, consider a cloud ready dash cam, such as BlackVue's models.

    hello! can i ask, is there any way to avoid the interior camera to capture that purple color due to infrared?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад

      The IR of the interior camera lens can be set to "Auto" which will make it so that the IR will not activate in bright situations, only giving the purple hue when it's needed in low-light situations. Alternatively, you can turn the IR off altogether in the settings, but then you will lost the effect of IR along with the hue, that's just a byproduct.
      IMO, the colouration is much better than the alternative in other IR cameras, which switch things to black and white instead, with super muted colors, many of which don't have the option to be enabled/disabled automatically so it will always look like that.

      The Sony Starvis 2 image sensor of the A139 Pro is expected to have the camera running a bit hotter.

    Viofo A139 Pro vs 70mai Omni 360 degree camera?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад

      Tough to say since the 70mai Omni 360 is so new and different from other cameras. Still, the A139 Pro will have better resolution with it's Sony STARVIS 2 image sensor.

    What other dash cams out there are equivalent or better than the ThinkWare U3000?
    I'm looking for good night vision, HDR and at least 2k resolution for BOTH the front and rear cam. Radar and GPS would be nice to have also.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад +1

      The radar module built-in is one of the key points of the U3000, there's not much out there that can do the same. Possibly the Q1000, which you can add a radar to, and provides great night vision , 2k front + back, and gps

    Your price is way more than Viofo's website and 32gb ssd you offer, barely records long video footage, you can remove it as free option and instead give discount in pricing of dash cam.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  Год назад

      Thanks for the feedback. It's worth noting that we do allow discount codes on our website that can help with the price, for example, feel free to use the code youtube5 for 5% off at checkout. It's also worth considering that orders from VIOFO directly are fulfilled from China, whereas we fulfill from our offices in Vancouver Canada.

    Гавно , зря купил. Приложение тупит часто, быстро хрен найдешь видео. В режиме парковки без дополнительного провода который в комплекте не идет, выключает и не работает. Если работает в редиме парковки, то пишет все подряд даже с уменьшением дачика движения, если еще сильнее уменьшить вообще не записывает как человек мимо проходит. Короче денег своих не стоит. Если поцарапают машину, реально задолбаешься искать этот момент в записи, так как повторяюсь пишет она все подряд часами.
