Thank you for the video. I wanted a blazer but had limited funds and am a plus size, so limited availability in my town, so ... I bought a men's tweed blazer at a second hand store for $40. I had it dry cleaned and it's what I was looking for. If you want to participate in a trend there is always a way that is both sensible and economically viable.
Thrift stores are the best for finding nice blazers/jackets ... 99 cent tag day at Salvation Army is the best. Usually have a nice plus size section. Community thrift stores are also a good place to shop. There is a shop in my area thst benefits victims of sex trafficking...great clothes donated Sold rather cheaply because they have so much.
Waistcoats (Vests) were a staple of my working wardrobe back in the 80's. I can't wear anything so fitted these days, but knitted vests/pullovers are a good alternative.
I really like your videos. it drives me nuts when I hear one of the RUclipsrs, I watch , feel they have to make a comment ,like you did, at the beginning ,that people think you're telling them what to wear. People are watching the videos for the wrong reason. I think some people are just out to make a stupid comment , anybody who watches any videos like yours or any other video about fashion or makeup or home decor . people are not telling them what to do, it's suggestions for inspiration for things that they can do in their home or items to wear. I personally enjoy your videos and find them informative. Thank you so very much, I hope you have a wonderful week 🌻🍂
Great video! I love the look of the baggy jeans - on my 20 yr old 5'9" very slim granddaughter. At 5'1" and not 20, I'd look like a fool. I'd love a tweed blazer - this is something I want to look for, I'm thinking of all the blazers I've had in my past. It's nice seeing cute flats - I absolutely can't wear heels anymore. (Today I was shortening some pants I'd bought and realized that with wearing flats all the time, I don't have to think if the pant length will work with heels anymore!).
I agree I don't like to feel like jeans are too big. I always prefer a denim skirt anyway. I might try a tweed jacket for sure, I'm 56 and yhink.those shoes look.like grandma 😆 I like the vest look, a sweater vest and denim vest is cool 😎 Great tips.
Your video made me realize I always wanted a tweed jacket, but had felt it was overly dressy. I have a polished style, yet seeing the pairings you showed made me realize it's possible versatility. Thank you!
I like the blazers you showed. Not the huge oversized ones, but a more classic timeless cut. I also like your “conversation from my office” vibe today. Thanks for helping us stay relevant and modern.
Favorite trend: give me all the vests! Least favorite trend: square toed ballet flats. Not the best look for a shortie with wide feet! Thanks for another great video, Nancy 😊.
Well done - looks are modern, not frumpy; feel like as we get older we need to not look out of touch with what’s happening, even if going with the trends in a more moderate way👏👏👏
I really like the oversized sweater vests. I know that you said that you have lost a alot of weight. Will you do a strategy for clothing while losing weight. I have about 50-60 pounds to lose, and I don't want to break the bank every 10 pounds. Thank you!
I absolutely love the autumn colors….browns, oranges, golds, russets, tans/creams, dark greens, burgundy/wine, etc. I love the look and feel of vintage fall fashions that seemed to give a Ralph Lauren equestrian vibe. The warm colors, varied textures, and classic seasonal plaids, always welcomed fall with excitement and a touch of class. I am currently planning my autumn wardrobe and will definitely be leaning away from most trends, particularly colors such as pink for the fall…I just can’t do it! I find the men’s department offers the best selection of jackets to compliment autumn with a great selection of jackets and vests. I pick the items in the colors, fabrics, and textures (closest to my size), and let my tailor do her magic to fit my little 4’10” frame appropriately. I find vintage and thrift stores offer a great selection at more affordable prices. I have never regretted the money I have invested into getting my clothes tailored. I am sooo anxious for the onset of those crisp fall days, with showers of falling leaves, the smell of warm apple cider, and enjoying conversations around a warm, crackling fire. Bring it on!!!!
Hi Joan, I'm so glad you enjoyed the tips! It's not about the designers at all - it's about finding clothes that fit you and your lifestyle at a budget you can afford. 😍
Hi Nancy. I’m brand new here. Im plus size , and I’ve already got rid of all my tops that were not v shape. Should I do the same with dresses? Or can I wear dresses with scoop neck ? I love your jacket your wearing too, it’s beautiful colour. ❤
Glad I watched this video! I have a pink tweed jacket I love & have been holding onto, even though it's just too big for me now. I thought I had finally convinced myself to let it go, but after hearing the prices on the ones you showed, I will be taking mine to a seemstress! Love the one you're wearing!
Hello. I’m from Australia and enjoying your talks. Can you help me with my measurements please? Bust 40 , waist 38, shoulders45, hips49. Thank you.chris
Hi Chris, based on your measurements, you're a pear shape. Focus on drawing attention upwards to the shoulders and bust. I'll be doing a video on your body shape in the near future! 😍
I agree, there a lots of great, classic wearable trends this season. I also agree that it’s really important to distinguish trends from fads. Skinny jeans were a trend, because they endured as the dominant trouser style for 20 years. Looser, straight leg or wider jeans and other trousers are now the trend that we’ll have for at least 10-15 years. The extreme, less wearable, “trends” are usually just fads, like the feather trim that we’re seeing at the moment. This has very limited appeal, versatility and wearability for a variety of women, and is also impractical, so it will not endure as a trend, it’s just a fad for those who don’t mind spending their money on something they will only wear once. Most of us want items that will serve us longer and are more environmentally friendly, too.
I'm 💯 agree. Trends come and go,maybe you can like one piece here and there but the true personal style is not about trends, it has more depth of expression of our personality.
I liked everything but the short Channel style jackets - To me, they look gaudy with the obvious trim and invasive colors - I disagree with you and think they will go out of style pretty fast - I love the blazers and sweater vests which will always look current - I rarely wear prints or plaids and find solid colors stand the test of time much better - The exception may be a subtle plaid blazer for fall - Great video - Peace
I really love your content. It is extremely educational for all of us who need help pulling it together with our clothing. The content is so classy except for the annoying tacky cartoon pop ins. I do not know why these are needed when just some subtle music would fill in the void if necessary. You have a good gift but the graphics are not necessary in my opinion. They are just distracting.

Question: if you would not wear a pair of pantyhose and a “tunic,” then why would you wear tights as outerwear? And, by the way, obese woman in tights is horrific. Just a thought - nothing yet invented by man can hide an extra 30 or more pounds. All one can do is keep it covered so the rest of the world does not have to see it. If you, yourself, do not like what you see if a full-length mirror, then what makes you think anyone else wants to see what you don’t want to see?

Great video, but those Macy’s quilted shoes scream ‘OLD LADY SHOES’. In my opinion of course. 😉
They sort of look like bedroom slippers....
100% grandma shoes, agree

Yeah!!! Even if money wasn’t an issue I love shopping second hand for so many reasons. I’m actually in search of one for me. ☺️
Me too! Love secondhand shopping. You can always find such great prices with better quality than todays items at a good price.❤❤❤❤
More video madam I love ur video for age 50 above

I buy all of mine at estate sales..pay about five dollars for and made in USA..
That Lily jacket looks so chic and vibrant on you!!!
I love the Tweed jackets. I'm a Goodwill shopper so I found some great deals
I’m a big fan of the jackets and vests this year, glad to see high waisted jeans return also.
Yes! Vests are awesome and nothing like high waist Jeans!

I love the 2 Lily tweed jackets. She makes tweed look more relaxed and feminine if that makes any sense.
Great video! I am glad to see vests coming back.

I like an outfit with a touch of definite feminine. Like the ballet flats or Chanel type jackets. So much is so masculine!

Your style is horrible
Thank you Nancy. I have been more fashionable and my co-workers have complimented me!. My college age daughters are impressed!
Yay! Can't ask for anything more than that, Joy! 🥳

Wonderful choice of options Nancy. I especially love the Tory Burch squared toe ballet flat, and your lovey LP fringed sweater!
I Love it ! 😀 the Baggie pants .
Love the vest idea. Good thing cause I just bought one from Garnet Hill.
I'm sure you'll get a lot of use out of it! Garnet Hill clothes are such nice quality 😍
Love that pink jacket!
It would be more helpful to see you try on examples of these trends (a real woman like us!) instead of catalog pics. thanks-Linda

Crops are silly, especially in fall and winter. Ohio is very cold. Crops still look like high waters.☺

Glad we don't have to comply with your opinion. We don't all live in OH.
