If you subscribe to the "wear whatever you like" theory, why would you see a winter trend video, click on it, watch it, scroll down it, and make a comment on it?
I bought a Barbour jacket for dog walking. I thought it was expensive at the time, Xmas pressie to self, but 17yrs and 4 dogs later, and daily wear for about 7mths each year, it still looks good.😊
I have a navy teddy jacket, longer length, which is always universally admired. It doesn’t look cheap. One friend asked me to leave it to her in my will!!!
You are so right. Don't look dated. Don't look ridiculous. Take risks, but mindfully. Don't be stubborn. Always look in the mirror before you go out. Be honest with yourself.
I hope you don't mind me saying but this light grey colour makes job look pale and worn out. The pale blue you had on in the last video suited you well and made you look younger.
I love my short puffer as I tend to be warm on my lower body but my upper body needs the heat. So, I'll keep it! I also hate beanies as I look like a big bowl head and have curls sticking out like a clown - the other style actually works really well for me in terms of my head/look. I guess I just fit more with the trends that are out and that's okay.
Impressive video, My Over 50 Fashion Life. Can't wait to see your next upload from you. I hit the thumbs up icon on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! Your insights on the practicality of short puffer jackets versus longer options were particularly interesting. How do you think the shift towards more classic styles will influence the sustainability of fast fashion?
Being only 5' I was initially extremely turned off by puffer jackets because of my small frame. So many of them look ridiculous on any height and especially on short people like me. But I did find a longer one that has the stitching running diagonally on the coat and it's not especially puffy. The diagonal stitching is very flattering and even makes me look taller. And that coat is very warm without be bulky. As you say, they do have a place since they are just very casual. And all my bags are plain. As I said I am short so have to keep accessories simpler so as not to overwhelm me. What I do is purchase plain bags but in different colors. I've got them in red, green, blue, lime green, apricot orange, yellow, brown, and various straw bags. That really helps to make me look distinctive without seeming that I'm trying too hard to be on trend.
@@Myover50fashionlife Yes! I had no idea you were nearly as short as I am! Obviously, you've got the "dressing to look taller" down because you fooled me! 🙂
Needed to see this, limited budget and chain store items without breaking the bank. I have a question for you, my 96 year old mum, likes to look nice and I struggle to find her tops and jumpers that don’t swamp her tiny frame, also all the sleeves are way too long. She’s under 5 foot tall and a size 10. Any suggestions?
I agree with you about the teddy fabric but lordy, velour??! Velour is the single nastiest cheapest looking fabric ever invented. Even velvet is extremely hard to pull off IMHO unless you are six foot with cheekbones you could slice prosciutto on
I bought a brown velvet jacket to the knee from Boden many years ago. Now it’s in trend again, but I still wear it every year because it’s a thin jacket and I am in a warm place.
Fashion videos are all just opinion pieces…you can always find one you agree with…what’s in on one channel is out on another!! And, by the way, why would anyone follow so-called trends set by people you don’t know but who do think they know what’s right for everyone around them? Use a mirror and common sense…that would be a good trend to start!!
I like some trends, but also good quality basics and classics. I don't need to dress head to toe with trendy garments. Especially with this long-term government caused recession in the U.S., I will think twice before adding trendy, low-quality fast-fashion.
@annewhitney8809 I know. It is caused by corrupt governments in Europe, Canada, Australia that follow the same globalist, elitist orders. I live in the U.S. that is why I mentioned that country.
Hence why great for a car but not walking. By the way my next video will have a glimpse of a painting I did last week that you can laugh it, as an artist 😀
I bet you wore all these garments quite happily when they were 'in'? Whether or not they looked good on you. And when they're back in style, you will wear them again. Ignore trends, ladies. Wear what suits, don't be a sheep
Wear whatever you like!

British fashion is so classy. I try to use it as often as possible. Sometimes, we, across the pond, get this much later. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Plain leather bags are ALWAYS in. Classic, smart and stylish. Always.
Yes. Exactly.

You are funny! Got a laugh out of your “wind sock” reference to the hat 😄
As you say if you already have the fashion item you can keep and wear it but if you go to buy any of these things it's nice to know whats trending.

I bought the M&S handbag after seeing it here. Its gorgeous!
I'm glad you like it
Me too! 😊
I love Fair Isle. I think it is timeless 🥰 If you pay a bit more for good quality, it will last forever! Mine comes out every year.
I totally agree!
I agree short puffer has a place particularly in Australia where it gets cold in Winter but not freezing. I wish Talbots shipped to Australia 😮
They ship to the UK but it would be expensive to return, I think. So like you I'm jealous.

I’m petite too. 5 ft 2 . I feel your pain on outfits. Bear my height in mind when you look at what I’m wearing in my videos. It might give you ideas.

You should check out the Jaeger leather jacket in Marks and Spencer beautiful
Nothing in nothing out wear what you feel happy in.
Why are you watching a fashion video then 🙈 if you’re not interested in trends then why waste your time watching 😂
I watched this just out of curiosity, I have found my style and stick to it regardless of fashion. Comfort is more important for me 😊
But I can't loose my infinity scarf.
Right! They don't fall off behind you while walking down the street.

How about 3/4 sleeves tops. Also try the teenagers areas, age 16 may have some nice tops. Lots of petites look there.

I just bought my MaxMara Teddy last year 😢

News flash….the recession is world wide.

Velour!?!
Please stop referring to plastic as vegan leather. It’s plastic and vegan wool is polyester.
This marketing is insane.
puffer, not puffa
With a short puffer jacket your upper torso is warm and your bum freezes.

I only wear what I like and what suits me . Trends are merely ancillary.
@Myover50fashionlife so why do you push the trends?
I don't . I share awareness
Take it or leave it as you see fit. Fot my part I take what I like .ruclips.net/video/RyR7d8LOpUg/видео.html
