Maybe everything will be ok for us after all... whenever I see such a wide variety of age, racial heritage, gender, big, small, the short and the tall, moving in unison while singing “we are marching in the light of God” and flashing a huge smile that comes from down in the core somewhere, I know that must tug at God’s heartstrings, and possibly help compel Him to have mercy on us, one more time, mercy we don’t deserve.

We briefly had an African minister at the church I grew up in (he returned home in short order once his wife had experienced the temperatures of northern England) - he taught us this song one Sunday morning. Not sure our performance would measure up to his effort though! However 30 years later I still remember it so he must have made an impression.

It is hard to find a composition that is so full of the joy of singing and the spirit of love for all people. What a challenge for this stodgy Episcopalian to give it the music it deserves!
We sing it in my Episcopal church! But we don't have the drumming to give it that extra oomph...!

Brings back memories of early 90s in grade school when we sang this in music/choir class. Always loved how this song sounded, so upbeat & positive!

South Africans freedom fighters who stayed in Tanzania had contibuted much into social change in 🇹🇿 i remember during 1980th we used to sing this songs in Secondary schools we called them JIVING most of them were zullu songs we didnt know the meaning of the words and iam not sure if we pronounced them correct but the melody and courage my God!!
We are singing this at our Church tomorrow. It won't be nearly as amazing as this, but it will be an offering to God just the same.
