Nice paisley shirt, Suzy. Wow I didn’t know turmeric could be used for external use on your body as well as for eating.

I’ve had that shirt for more than 20 years. I like it too. I had a neighbour who was from Sri Lanka who used the turmeric paste as a face and body mask. He told me about it years ago. I didn’t give it much thought before but now I’ll have to try it. Thanks for watching

I hope Chester is feeling better soon. I took turmeric a few years ago for inflammation in my shoulder. It took a few months, but one day I realized the pain was completely gone and it hasn't returned. Hopefully it will help give him relief too. He's a good boy.

Hi there. Chester has arthritis too. This isn’t a cure but it should help with inflammation. It’s a slow process for natural remedies to be effective. Sometimes, you don’t know something works until you stop using it. Some of the ways I help treat chester are 1) I take him for acupuncture , this does helps with mobility 2) I’ve taken him for laser therapy and it helped too but not as much as acupuncture 3) I give him tri-acta joint and health. It has glucosamine and msm for dogs. I think this really helps too. 4) I walk him 2 times a day so he doesn’t get stiff in his hind legs/ that’s the problem area 5) after a walk, if chester looks like he’s in pain- I feel for heat on his back, I take a hand towel , wet it in cold water, I squeeze out the water then place the cold cloth on his back. The cold helps with inflammation. He’s stops panting almost immediately so I know it gives him relief. I’ve also taken chester for chiropractic treatments when he was younger and it helped immensely but this was before the arthritis set in. Once the treatments became painful for him I stopped. That’s when I went to acupuncture. Depending on your dog’s condition, some of this might help. The last thing I’ll mention is looking into electromagnetic mats. My vet highly recommends them for arthritic dogs, she actually uses a mat herself, for her bad back. This option is very expensive. $3000 in Ontario Canada as it’s being shipped from the USA. It’s very interesting technology but I don’t have personal experience with it. I’m not a vet , and can’t promise any of this will work . This is just sharing my experiences and hoping something helps your dog. They are such loyal friends and it’s wonderful that you are taking such care of them.

Hi Suzy, I used turmeric also for my dog as well as myself, but I will definitely be making this paste. Could Fish Oil be used in lieu of coconut oil?
Sending kisses and cuddles to sweet Chester.

Thank you for the good wishes! I really don’t know about using fish oil as a substitute . I haven’t run across any recipes that use it. Also, the recommended dosage for fish oil may not coincide with the 1/3 cup of oil used in the recipe. I know how beneficial fish oil is for joints but this might be something you need to give separately. I had chester on capsules and liquid fish oil in the past but then he grew intolerant of it , now hates all things that taste like fish. This is just my opinion , I would ask my vet for guidance on this one. Thanks for watching 🙏

You showed off ginger as turmeric~ they are NOT the same

You're right, they are very different. I used powdered turmeric for this recipe. I do buy fresh ginger and fresh turmeric from my local grocery store. I don't remember specifics of making this video but I may have mixed up the two when using the rhizome as a prop. You can add fresh ginger or other spices when using it in golden milk for people.
