This scene is so fucking incredible. Killua FINALLY found what he wants to do in life. He has the same type of conviction in his eyes like Gon did throughout the entire series. A nice contrast to when both of them were on Whale Island discussing what each of them wanted to do, with Killua not knowing what to do in his life. Add in the incredible OST that plays during this scene and it elevates it even more.

They had come a long way and although it is a happy thing that Killua has finally have something he wants to do, he needed to leave Gon. It's hard for both Gon and Killua to separate but it'll strengthen their friendship more. This happens in real life. You were each other's sunshine and safe zone, you were each other's calmness in rage. But soon enough, you have to handle your own storm alone, taking every memory with you as an inspiration to go on life, as solo. I cried really hard in this scene, fyi. Still waiting for their reunion along with Kurapika and Leorio. 💙💚

Hes thanking him for being his friend, for letting him tag along to search for his purpose in life, for giving him a reason to free himself from Illumi's needle.. he may never have done any of this without Gon. He didnt want to be an assassin and have his fate decided for him. He gets to choose what to do now, thanks to Gon. He's not saying thanks for almost dying lol. He spent time jokingly dragging Gon in this episode about how he owes him and how Gon had him so worried because Gon almost died. He wasnt happy about that. He loves Gon, they're best friends. It definitely shows how hard it is for them to leave each other in those final moments. He's happy and thankful to have known Gon because Gon forever changed his life (and vice versa).
As they turn their back, there is a brief of sadness in their eyes...I feel in their parting ways they both find their missing piece that they always searching for, its like a mix of both joy and sadness when its in your own hands.. I'm glad both HxH and Berserk will continue its series, plus Chainsawman.

Gon and Killua had mirror journies. Gon was born in the light but learning about the evils of the world slowly consumed him in darkness Killua was born in the darkness but learning about the good in the world slowly showed him the light While Gon was falling into despair, Killua was coming out of it, hence why he called Gon his “light”. This is why by the end, despite Killua upbringing, he not only matured far more than Gon but became a better person and “human being” that’s Gon Remember, it ended up not the assassin threatening an innocent person but the “innocent” go lucky boy who didnt know how the world truly worked By the end of the series anime (and manga now), Gon is in limbo while Killua is free ITs why I liked Gon’s journey: it shows how a truly, innocent and naive person sheltered for his life, can act selfish and hypocrical towards the world when it doesn’t function according to his ideals. Gon has morals but they are his morals of right and wrong. Remember: He willingly let another exananee get killed by Hisoka only to get the latter’s badge. He didnt dare do that when Hisoka confronted Kurapika and Leorio so already there, you see a glimpse of his morality: it’s selfish. Leorio, in the same situation, would not have let anyone get sacrificed, even a stranger.
The reason why Gon and Killua work so well together is because they are so alike yet totally different. Killua, like you said, grew up with darkness. He was trained to become an full-time assassin, which evolves around killing- showing no mercy. He never had any friends, surely because of his brother and maybe because people grew afraid of him due to his occupation. Gon grew up in light. He was loved by many, cared for and had free choice. He was treated like a loving child on a small island, not aware of what played outside the world. The reason I find them so alike, is because they both 'lacked' something the other had. Killua lacked comfort and love from others, while Gon never acknowledged the dark reality of the world. Killua showed Gon darkness, Gon brought him closer to light. Now that I think about it, Killua was so new to the whole friendship. When Gon introduced him to 'light', it was a whole new experience for him. He wasn't familiar with all of that, and so quickly became attached to Gon. Gon, on the other hand, was different. Like when Killua revealed he was an assassin, he wasn't surprised. It didn't faze him. Knowing he killed didn't faze him. Unlike Killua, who was surprised by Gon's 'light', Gon wasn't surprised by Killua's darkness. He grew accustomed to it. They both abandoned the thing they grew up with; Gon went to the darkside while Killua followed the light. It makes me think that if Gon and Killua switched positions (Gon who would've been raised to become an assassin, and Killua who grew up with a loving Aunt) they may have continued living their lives like they're supposed to. Gon, becoming the head of the Zoldyck family and the top-assassin. Killua, continuing his life as a normal boy.
I'm actually happy that finally Killua found a purpose for his life. I mean he can't just follow Gon everytime forever. (That's actually what my selfish heart wants 🤧)
Real friends part along and have zero problems with it because life will get them together again at some point and at the same time they can be friend with other people and wok in their goals. Kite said "if a need help, I will let you know because we are friends now". I know Killua and Gon know this very well in their hearts and, of course, they have phones, lol.
It's the music plus all the experience they've been through together and all those episode we spent watching them. And the dialogue and the great voice acting....too much

The look at each one face when looking apart is speechless. It was a second where everyone thought to move back and join the other in his journey, but at the same time, both have the commitment to continue their own journey so they have to separately move on.
Killua thank Gon because of the silver lining of his near death experience brought Alluka back in Killua’s Life. The optimism he gained hanging with Gon soooo long actually wore off on him 😇

Killua said that he doesn’t wanna use Nanika that way so he orders her don’t make anymore wishes. He also doesn’t wanna use Nanika like that so his last order was to make ILLUMI go back home.
Plus killua said thank you to gon when he kept saying that friends don’t need to say thank you because that’s what friends are for. Does kills still think of gon as his friends after what happened?

Gon was born in the light but learning about the evils of the world slowly consumed him in darkness
Killua was born in the darkness but learning about the good in the world slowly showed him the light
While Gon was falling into despair, Killua was coming out of it, hence why he called Gon his “light”.
This is why by the end, despite Killua upbringing, he not only matured far more than Gon but became a better person and “human being” that’s Gon
Remember, it ended up not the assassin threatening an innocent person but the “innocent” go lucky boy who didnt know how the world truly worked
By the end of the series anime (and manga now), Gon is in limbo while Killua is free
ITs why I liked Gon’s journey: it shows how a truly, innocent and naive person sheltered for his life, can act selfish and hypocrical towards the world when it doesn’t function according to his ideals. Gon has morals but they are his morals of right and wrong.
Remember: He willingly let another exananee get killed by Hisoka only to get the latter’s badge. He didnt dare do that when Hisoka confronted Kurapika and Leorio so already there, you see a glimpse of his morality: it’s selfish.
Leorio, in the same situation, would not have let anyone get sacrificed, even a stranger.
The reason why Gon and Killua work so well together is because they are so alike yet totally different. Killua, like you said, grew up with darkness. He was trained to become an full-time assassin, which evolves around killing- showing no mercy. He never had any friends, surely because of his brother and maybe because people grew afraid of him due to his occupation. Gon grew up in light. He was loved by many, cared for and had free choice. He was treated like a loving child on a small island, not aware of what played outside the world.
The reason I find them so alike, is because they both 'lacked' something the other had. Killua lacked comfort and love from others, while Gon never acknowledged the dark reality of the world. Killua showed Gon darkness, Gon brought him closer to light.
Now that I think about it, Killua was so new to the whole friendship. When Gon introduced him to 'light', it was a whole new experience for him. He wasn't familiar with all of that, and so quickly became attached to Gon.
Gon, on the other hand, was different. Like when Killua revealed he was an assassin, he wasn't surprised. It didn't faze him. Knowing he killed didn't faze him. Unlike Killua, who was surprised by Gon's 'light', Gon wasn't surprised by Killua's darkness. He grew accustomed to it. They both abandoned the thing they grew up with; Gon went to the darkside while Killua followed the light.
It makes me think that if Gon and Killua switched positions (Gon who would've been raised to become an assassin, and Killua who grew up with a loving Aunt) they may have continued living their lives like they're supposed to. Gon, becoming the head of the Zoldyck family and the top-assassin. Killua, continuing his life as a normal boy.
This scene is just beyond beautiful!
I kinda like the thought of Killua exploring the world with Alluka!
I'm actually happy that finally Killua found a purpose for his life. I mean he can't just follow Gon everytime forever. (That's actually what my selfish heart wants 🤧)
Real friends part along and have zero problems with it because life will get them together again at some point and at the same time they can be friend with other people and wok in their goals. Kite said "if a need help, I will let you know because we are friends now". I know Killua and Gon know this very well in their hearts and, of course, they have phones, lol.
