      I am slowly getting use to going with 10 bit cineon and log recording. I am planning to test it for a future video project. If you have any tips recording cineon, I am open for suggestions 🫡

    • @yoganshbhatt
      @yoganshbhatt 4 месяца назад

      @@kitchenraw I myself feel RAW has definitely more potential in comparison to the log recording in emulation and stuff although if you do ETTR which is obvious I guess and I also most of the times record how a film would behave with the shadows and highlights. What I mean is it's easier to recover details in the highlights but you cannot recover shadows on film so I intentionally kill the shadows when the scene isn't very dynamic and my subject has enough lighting/I am shooting silhouttes.
      If you aren't specifically asking for film emulation then you can use a cst and use Sony Venice luts . I used to use them a lot both with raw and log and it gave good results.
      Rn I have the Fujifilm xh2s film emulation lut from their site which works great even when used in the app.

    I tend to have a ton of noise on y videos, how do you deal with that?

    • @kitchenraw
      @kitchenraw  4 месяца назад +1

      When you are rendering the files from the app, there is a detailed noise reduction section. It works by pixel bining 4x to 16x, if I am not wrong. There were some parts I also used Davinci's noise reduction tool as an extra, but just for a short scene.

      @@kitchenraw thanks so does it mean it will reduce output resolution as tradeoff

    • @kitchenraw
      @kitchenraw  4 месяца назад +4

      @petithor I just looked it up again, and I was wrong. It is not pixel bining but another technology. It uses multiple frames to get more light data to denoise a single frame. What developers' website says: The denoising algorithm uses bayer RAW images as input. Motion Cam treats the RAW data as four colour channels (red, blue and two green channels). It starts by creating an optical flow map between a set of images and the reference image utilising Fast Optical Flow using Dense Inverse Search. Then, each colour channel is fused using a simplified Gaussian pyramid. So it won't reduce the resolution at all.

If you are familiar with the cinema cameras like arri, black magic, sony they all work the same. I don't think it will harm your memory chip but if you are worried about that you can directly record into a ssd external by plugging into your phone.
