Good idea about tying the grounds together. I installed put a Pfanstiehl from VOM on a Garrard changer in a Packard Bell console, and using all four pins does get very tight. I've been a bit concerned about shorting, so I may use your trick, or slide some shrink tube onto the leads. The amp is also super clean on that unit. Did you polish it up?
Last P-226 I got, I broke it immediately... the push pin apparently was not spread apart enough and it pushed the pin right into the cartridge... the p-191 is cheaper and sounds just as good
@@SteveScarletNeither did I until the last time... I also am not a fan of plastic stylus, ever work on a RCA Rp-217 changer?... the needle weight is crazy 6 to 11 grams
Nice tutorial Steve the stylus is always a big concern when what to replac it with !!!👍👍

i have an Arista clone for a Varco tn-02 that i'll put on one of my Magnavox type brackets
i would put washers under the heads of the screws then the bottom ends of the screws don't stick out so much
Why does vintage regularly sound better than modern
is there any difference between a p-226 and a p-228?
those shields do absolutely nothing
