Release day! Amazing album - full of their trademark deceptively simple sounding songs that become more and more complex with every listen. They seem to be focusing on the Mexico release over US and for some reason that I can't explain that makes me happy. Would love to see them play a show there. Maybe I'll come down during the Wisconsin winter.

I really like the spacing between the notes instead of sustained chords. Gives the song more mood and effect on the listener. It sort of has a heartbeat of its own. Really cool!

Mi favorita del álbum me sorprende que interpol no cambie su estilo ha diferencia de otras bandas que cambian su sonido para no pasar de moda, la música de interpol casi no me fastidia escucharla a pesar de que su estilo sigue siendo el mismo. Me gusta.

They said that the lyrics are kind of sarcastic/the narrator is not to be trusted, so the narrator is probably bitter about the person he is singing to, and when he says "I wanna be there when you touch fire/the wire" he means that he wants to see that person getting hurt, and when he says "I'm the living end, i plead as such" he states that he also would like to be the one to hurt the person.
