My God, that acceleration is mindboggling. No wonder they had a star from the very beginning!

Lord and Lady, what a horse! He moves like a dream.I get so irked by those who feel the need to diminish him by comparing him unfavorably with previous Triple Crown winners.HE TOOK THE TRIPLE CROWN.The first horse in 37 years to do so,only the 12th horse in the history of the Triple Crown. He's a marvel,a wonder. What a horse!

Don't know why, he showed the heart of a lion in the Kentucky when he had a rough ride, ran through a river at the Preakness when the other horses looked like stuck donkeys and of the Triple crown champs, only Secretariat himself ran the Belmont faster despite Victor holding AP back for so long due to fear of repeating all the past failures in the straight - could have gone close to that 2:24 time if he was allowed to just open up earlier like he clearly wanted to do coming up to the last turn. The Haskell especially, and then the Breeders Cup wins were so ridiculously easy, it showed how much more development he still had left. He would have been a monster at 4 and 5 if they still did that these days.

He's built perfectly to run!!! You have to watch him in slow motion to be able to catch how perfectly he puts his feet down, how his head moves allowing his lungs to pump perfectly, and he's so damn smooth...his jockey hardly moves in the saddle. He's a conformation dream!!!!

it must have been a privilege to train AP and for those that rode him....what am amazing experience...not realizing 'then' just what AP would do this year....you are a lucky person...to have been a part of his journey.

It amazing how much the horse helped shape the face and history of the American continent, from striking fear into the Native-Americans who first laid eyes on such a huge animal ridden by the Conquistadors and that could outrun them to shaping man raise his cattle and provide transportation.

Sucking or smacking lips repetitively, as if quickly blowing a bunch of kisses, and rearranging the reins to a shorter length from the bit.
