    A Horse Of A Lifetime. A Grandslam Champion Of A Lifetime.

    He is just incredible. Even here you can see it. When the crowd closes in around him he is as calm as can be. Many horses would freak out if they were closed in on like that by a crowd.

      +riotracer Bob says one time that that friendly personality makes him a better horse , cause he is relaxed most of the time , what a Beautiful horse , one of this horses born each 50 years

      Yeah, it is really, really extraordinary not to mention he is a 3 year old, FIT, stallion. Bob knows him well enough he trusts him with the crowds like this...that really says something...

    Love how he puts his head down and makes sure the young man totally gets to touch his crown and ears. Lifetime moment's for humans , in the moment for that awesome horse .

      @salicemccool9268 8 лет назад +5

      That really struck me; made me wonder if he somehow sensed that the young man needed him to do so. Calls to mind the video of the yellow lab meeting the little boy with DS who usually shied away from physical contact.

    Great interview. Good questions. And Baffert has become so generous and accommodating and appreciative that I'm an even greater fan than when Silver Charm and Real Quiet ran.

      +Silver Charm I met Bob Baffert's son, Canyon, at the university where I worked (our three-in-common alma mater, the University of Arizona) and when I mentioned Silver Charm, he said, "Oh man, he really loved that horse!"

    In his old age, American Pharoah can have a career as a therapy horse. He certainly has the demeanor for it. He is inquisitive, self-assured and likes people's attention.

      Agree 100%, even as a young stallion he was as calm as can be. Amazing horse.

      Zenyatta isn't a great broodmare she had two flops on the track and I'm sure the filly is going to be the same way. Now if Rachel Alexandra was still able to breed I'd rather have American Pharoah breed to her instead of Zenyatta because she was a proven broodmare.

    Speaking of Zenyatta, how about setting up a date between the Queen and the current King, AP? Think of the foal!

    • @PaulaBill1
      @PaulaBill1 9 лет назад

      +Debra Enderle I know but who gets the baby/foal?

    • @debraenderle4737
      @debraenderle4737 9 лет назад

      +PaulaBill1 The Mosses, Zenyatta's human parents, would be the owners.

    • @109367
      @109367 9 лет назад

      +Debra Enderle A lot of people wanted Curlin to cover Zenyatta but I had to point out they were too closely related, but yes, AP and Zenyatta could definitely conceive a foal, they are not too closely related.

      109367 AP's stud fee has just been announced: $200,000 per live foal.

    • @Iwastherein1969
      @Iwastherein1969 9 лет назад

      +Debra Enderle rather see Rachael Alexandra bred to this guy...the two (Rachael Alexandra and American Pharoah) had such similar running styles that can you imagine a colt given the speed and stamina by both parents....the colt would be absolutely off the charts

    The most magnificent creature ever! What I'd like to see is some video of him playing and running around the pasture with other horses. I imagine they have him being babysat but the older gentleman to keep him from hurting himself, but it would be fun to see some tape of AP trying to goad TG into a chase, wouldn't it?

    Zenyatta just recently bred again with War Front so its going to take a while before they get a chance to maybe have a foal. I don't have a single doubt though that they will breed because the ones that hold Zenyatta's breeding rights have shown already that they will pay that much for a foal.

  • @erikpereira8597

    I mean..cry, 'a big show' Baffert? No way. This horse didn't do anything but beat Keen Ice, Frosted, and Tale Of Verve. Then he beat Tale of Verve, Frosted, and Keen Ice. All year. And we don't even know how fast those horses ever were because they were held back during all of the races. The casual fan doesn't see that, but you can tell by how the Jockey's were riding. I'm wondering what shady things were going on all year long. But I guess what's done is done..but I wonder.

    • @erikpereira8597
      @erikpereira8597 9 лет назад

      +Chris Ingersoll Then go ahead an appreciate it! I did say that that the casual fan wouldn't understand what goes on. And comments like that make me know even more that they don't. Go ahead and rejoice, no one said that you couldn't.

    • @erikpereira8597
      @erikpereira8597 9 лет назад

      +Chris Ingersoll Sure, I can get into an 8 hour discussion of what I do. How about that? And you can think what you want, just like everyone else. So, then, the question becomes..what makes YOU right? You could be around it all your life, I get that..but what would make you right, then? Just saying. And I didn't say that I 'was right' but I said what it looked like and that it made me wonder. And, yes, I've read in other posts people have said the same thing, whether it's their life or not.

      AP accomplished so much- Triple Crown since Affirmed and then,the Breeder's Cup.Horseracing fans and horse/animal lovers should celebrate that.Once a lifetime horse.He beat good horses.A great bloodline.Tough to be consistent but he is.And so calm & friendly like Secretariay and elegant moving like Man O War.

    • @erikpereira8597
      @erikpereira8597 9 лет назад +1

      +elizabeth smith He beat the same horses over and over and weak fields. I don't know why the other Jockeys rode the way they did, and that's fine, but that's not greatness for him. Other countries, surfaces, etc, then that would be greatness. But I think he's a good horse. I think he's a nice horse and I never said that I hated him. HE does seem very friendly. And, shady or not, that part wouldn't be his fault.
