    Him losing the Travers almost adds to the legend looking back. Expected to cruise to a win, gets beat at the Graveyard of Champions, the doubts linger for the next 3 months headed to the Breeders Cup, and he goes and romps like it's nothing. Makes for a hell of a saga.

    The way moved was different than the rest of the horses. You can see it in the way he bobs his head in the final stretch. Like he puts all his effort into every single stride. Horse of a lifetime for sure.

    Top 3 in my eyes. Throw out first race and 9 for 10. Only other lost was 7th race in 6 months after coming off an injury. 8 of the wins were very easy, only tough race Derby she 4 to 5 wide whole race.

    My goodness, how do you even pick a favorite race? The ones that will always stand out to me in particular are his Arkansas Derby, Belmont, and Haskell. All those races just gave me absolute chills. Ark Derby because he was just so dominant, he was loping yet still pulling away. Belmont because he should have been tired and gutted out a win (like Justify) but instead made a mockery of a great horse named Frosted who was more rested. And then his Haskell because once again, he was just so much better that he practically trotted across the wire. His Breeder's Cup was sensational as well, but those 3 are just those races that leave you with chills and tears threatening to spill over as you realize what kind of brilliance you are witnessing. I am blessed to live in the era of thee American Pharoah. #ForeverTheRuler

    American Pharoah had such an EFFORTLESS stride. He kept his legs close to the ground with a "slicing" gallop, and he saved a lot of ground and expended less energy that way. Pharoah is EASILY in the TOP FIVE of all Triple Crown winners. When you pair the BEST trainer in racing history, Bob Baffert, with one of the best American thoroughbreds in racing history, the result is what you see here.

  • @Celal7411

    11 Races. 9 Victories. Pretty good win percentage for any racehorse, especially when you consider the races he won and the quality of the fields he ran against.

    I just found this amazing video: American Pharoah is a beast, an amazing race horse- love him to pieces. It was a tad painful watching the Travers: i know he would have won had he not left his race on the track the day before in a workout; be that as it may, a wonderful creature to behold.

    American pharaoh didn't lose the travers his owners lost it for him. They should have never entered him in that race. After the Haskell they should have just run him in the breeders cup. The triple crown races take so much out of a horse he didn't deserve to be put in a race so soon after the Haskell and after the triple crown. Greed of the owners ultimately cost him the race it was apparent that he was tired even though he fought on and finished second. The same thing happened to Seattle Slew.

    • @FreshCutFrenchFries
      @FreshCutFrenchFries 7 лет назад +4

      Anthony Voltaggio AP would have won the Travers if he wasn't paraded the day before in front of thousands of fans. His jog the morning before turned into a hot mess and he was worked far to hard. He would have arguably the best 3 year old campaign modern racing

    • @marilynshively670
      @marilynshively670 7 лет назад +9

      I still cannot bring myself to watch the Travers: His connections know they blew it and cost him the race. He is very much like Slew: if you watch the Belmont of Slew and AP, they are very similar in style.

      or Espinoza for chasing a ridiculous pace - the jockeys in america cannot judge a pace - if frosted pressed him in the breeders cup hed have been beaten again

    • @tonyv3427
      @tonyv3427 5 лет назад +3

      Liam Smith Frosted could have pressed AP all he wanted in the breeders cup and AP would have beaten him no problem. AP was exhausted in the Travers and that why he lost. In the breeders cup AP was rested and was much to strong for the rest of the field.

    • @ezequielcrespofigueroa2047
      @ezequielcrespofigueroa2047 4 года назад

      What I think cost him the Travers was all that traveling he did between the Belmont and the Travers going back to Cali instead of staying in NY after winning the TC that right there cost him the Travers by the time the BCC came around he was fully rested even with someone pressing the pace he was still too much for his competition.

    Very hard to beat a good horse whos running style is loose on the lead..These kinda horses dictate the pace of the race..Have to try and put pressure on a horse like this like Frosted did in Travers to soften him up..Leaving him alone on the lead and we seen what he can do..Belmont and Classic truly showcased this

    The only greedy thing the owners did was retire him after his 3 year old season, these owners are so rich already. Wouldn't horseracing fans like to seen him run another year. It was great to see Cal Chrome and now Arrogate still running instead of the owners taking the breeders cash all to quick. As a horseracing fan it doesn't do anything thing for me but piss me off.

    • @BlackCamaro728
      @BlackCamaro728 6 лет назад +6

      Not greedy at all. The same was done with Secretariat. It was a blessing that they let him complete his 3 year old season. The horse was priceless after winning the triple crown, yet they opted to share him with the nation 3 more times before retirement. Why allow further chance of injury? We all know he would have dominated as a 4 year old, too. What's left to prove?

    • @lacimatthews4616

      I've always wanted to see him run, I remember rushing home the day of the Belmont and turning the TV just as the race started. It was amazing and I wish I could've seen him run in person. It's my dream to meet him or at least be in his presence, and I hope I do, even if it's off the race track.
