This horse proved himself. Who was he going to race? We all dream of having multipul super horses on the track at the same time. Fact is its rare and a horse dosnt need 30- 70 or even 10 starts to prove thereself. Apreciate what he gave us and God Bless the owners for not running him into the ground. Now lets hope they dont shed him to death like Into Mistchif, Justify and American Pharoah

There was a racehorse named FRANKEL named after legend Bobby Frankel who ran consistently into the 140's over 1 mile & 1 & Q mile going 14 UNBEATEN with 12 G1's from 2yt old to 4yr old campaign & retired the highest rated horse in HISTORY at 147. @@birdzilla106:You see friend there in lies the problem regarding Flightline. Look I'm British friend & I've heard alot of fans over the last 45 years say same thing about other top class horses in the US. I'm not going to even try to say Flightline was overrated & all the Flightline fans are demented because I saw the Pacific Classic & watched him make a mockery of the field. I'll just say I'm not here to argue with you guys OK BUT what I'd like to add is in a comment I read " He NEVER came off the bridle because he was so much better than the rest" so I wonder what he would have found if asked ? So exactly what would he have found IF asked ? Flightline was an incredible horse & he had an ""EXTREMELY HIGH""cruising speed what made him that much more special than his opposition & that's my Question friend ?? For a horse to only have " 6 Career Starts " but also the Pacific Classic the 2nd Country Grammer ran to a 123 winning the Dubai World Cup which tells us that year it was a poor quality feild & I've watched Flavien ride Flightline about 40 times & when he goes to the front & quickly opens up 3-4 lengths & coming to the final bend Flavien is pushing Flightline hands & heels BUT he's really pushing him out & that's all that's needed then he let's up about last 50 metres were you actually see Flightline slowing because that FREAKISH High Cruising Speed that he only had to use & we have to remember friend when he uses it from way over 3 furlongs out & he can't keep it up & Flavien knows that & that's why he stopped & cruised last 50 meters. If Flavien actually used the whip on him the final 2 furlongs he wouldn't have got much faster due to using his Cruising Speed. And with all these factors put in I don't see how they rate him the same as Dancing Brave who's 1986 Arc De Triomphe win was rated the GREATEST HORSE RACE EVER & the opposition he had " 4 Derby Winners & 18 G1 wins " he was running last 1& 1/2 furlongs out & he comes widest & he comes to join 7 G1 winner's in a line & Dancing Brave made it 8 G1 winner's in a row BUT Dancing Brave just flew past & then there was 7 G1 winner's AGAIN. There's no denying Flightline was a fantastic horse BUT Dancing Brave was an INCREDIBLE HORSE. Please watch the 1986 Arc De Triomphe & watch his saddest race day 1986 Epsom Derby, were he came from to lose a shortening half length because of his jockeys riding error.👍

A "great" horse is never going to have many races if he is great from the beginning, unless he's a gelding. Not in this day and age. Flightline can be compared to the greatest ever. Some of the greatest ever -- that raced 20+ times, don't have 6 races total that are as breathtaking as Flightlines' ONLY 6. And he did it against G1 winners.

@@billybrownstar not a chance, 6 races is nothing. Flightline was a very good horse, that's it. A great horse is one that comes back for more in the face of possible defeat. I tell you what 6 races is, it's pure greed from the owners that's it.

had he been whipped or pressed, it's logical to say he would ran a 1:58.xx mile and a quarter, and broke some other track records. Never touch with whip AND.... was taken in/taken hold in final strides in multiple races where he was near the track record. The front fractions of BCC, combined with his final 1/8 mile time tell anyone who follows that, how much of a freak Flightline was. We thought Point Given, Smarty Jones, Arrogate, Shared Belief, American Pharoah, Justify, etc were "freaks". After seeing Flightline, those other horses were elite. Flightline was a freak.

Horseracing is such a sidelight now compared to the old days because the minute the owners realize they've got a horse like this they immediately put them out to stud because they are worth 100 times more there than they are on the track, without any of the risks of racing. We will never again see those mythical, hero horses that transcend the sport and become household names because they are not even around long enough for the common man to realize they exist. American Pharoah properly cracked the mainstream consciousness and then was all gone and pastured about 4 months later. This guy might have genuinely been the most Secretariat-like American horse since the OG but we'll never REALLY know and nobody outside the blue-blooded world of racing even knows his name...because he only ever ran 6 times and only twice at proper classic distances before retirement. TWICE Disastrous for the sport. Modern economics ruins everything once again as it does with every facet of life now it seems.

  • @YouDontKnow-that

Best horse since Big Red. Career wise, Secretariat better. If they have a series of races from 1 mile to 1.25 miles, I think Flightline wins as many as Secretariat. I think he was that good. It's a shame that they retire elite horses as soon as they (owners) discover they are elite.

@@6cobrasnake9 it is, yes, but Flightline only raced 6 times (not his fault). Horses (other than geldings won't run 20 times in this day and age). Secretariat ran 21 times I think. In those 6...which is all we have to go on, my opinion is, Flightline was at least as impressive as Secretariat.
