The reason the mom poisoned her girl was so the mom would be seen as a wonderful person. It's often referred to as Munchausen By Proxy, a desire for attention and sympathy manifesting in medical terms. Being sick (Munchausen) gets sympathy, and _looking after_ someone who is sick (By Proxy) gets sympathy and praise. ... It's a pretty sick condition. Oh, and if you listen a bit earlier in the movie they mention the younger sister is 'starting to get sick', too. Mom's lost her victim, Kira, so is replacing her with the younger sibling.
Watching the realization of the main twist come over you was _awesome!_

Haley Joel Osment (sp?) was such an amazing child actor. Was always amazed a kid could act that well.

The doctor in the white coat is M. Night. He makes cameos in his movies. Check out SIGNS. My favorite M. Night movie!

Late 90’s early 2000’s had some good horror/thriller movies come out. This movie was and is still so good. And NO One spoiled the twist for anybody. Everyone respected the viewing experience of others. To experience that twist.

    1. Haley Joel Osment played Forrest Gump Jr, in "AI" and absolutely kills in this.🤩
    2. I first knew when he met his wife when she was morning him alone at the anniversary meal. Only one place setting.🧐
    3. I watched my now ex to see when she got it but she never picked it up until the reveal.
    4. They help each other.
    5. Cole knew he wouldn't see Malcolm again.
    6. Cole to Malcolm, "How can you help me, if you don't believe me?".
    7. A fun movie for review of a Bruce Willis is, "The Last Boy Scout". HINT HINT
    8. Missing you Bruce.😰

The slow-burn realization at the twist had me giggling :D This is by far the best child acting performance I've ever seen. Haley Joel Osment was amazing in this, as was Toni Colette (the mother). I saw another comment suggesting Hereditary. I just watched that myself, and I do want to warn you that although it is a good movie, it's genuinely upsetting. And not just in a normal "scary movie" kind of way. It's a brutal watch, emotionally. I just want you to be aware of that. Cheers!

I worked in a movie theater when this came out. On our breaks, we were allowed to go into theaters and watch movies. 2 of them were playing this across the hall from each other. I accidentally went to into the one the was further along and I caught the ending before I’d seen the full movie. Needless to say I was pissed.

The actor who played Cole (Haley Joel Osment) was a very successful child actor who was in many movies. He also played Mesmer (the guy who could read peoples minds) in season 1 of The Boys. 2 absolutely top tier horror movies for you, both in terms of quality and views they get, is The Thing (1982 version) and Hereditary. Hereditary stars Toni Collette who played Coles mom in this movie.

The Thing is a great recommendation. Incredible movie. Would love to see that reaction.

I feel morally obligated to mention that Hereditary, while a very good film, is very difficult to watch. It's brutal. I just want to say that, so the reactor you're suggesting it to is prepared.

There is a lot of M Night's movies that people disregard as being stupid but The Village and The Lady in the Water was actually really good. But his best work is Unbreakable and Splìt but stay away from Glass it's the sequel to Split but that was a really waste of time and energy. The only saving grace in Glass is my favorite actresses in the world Sarah Paulson sje is my QUEEN ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
