    Hey man, might be worth it to try weather stripping around the hole cut in the hood, if you don’t want too trim too much and have a large gap around exhaust! The rubber of the weather stripping won’t wear out your heat wrap around the exhaust as much.

    Looks great. Put a wastegate on the manifold and feed it into the s480. That factory style turbo won’t flow enough exhaust with the current setup. When you put nitrous it will get way worse as far as back pressure. If you run a 30psi waste and don’t hook up at boost signal source to it, it will start to open at 60psi back pressure which will be near perfect. You will gain a lot of power there and help get the exhaust out of the engine a feed a lot more exhaust into the s480. You can run it off of the egr port but is better if you plumb the wastegate into both manifold to equal out the engine back pressure. Cheers mate

    • @JohnKangas
      @JohnKangas  2 года назад

      Yeah I was thinking about when I should get a waste gate in there. This particular valley charger has a very good flow rate to mitigate back pressure. But yeah maybe I will get one in there when I do nitrous

    I have a 2012 I’m wanting to build. This setup is awesome and I’d really like to do something similar. Is that the factory 11-14 turbo or is that an updated 15-16? I’d love to hear more about how you made the piping work and any recommendations you have

    • @JohnKangas
      @JohnKangas  Год назад

      That valley charger is a 66mm 17-19 style turbo made by Coastal Diesel and Performance. It's a very nice unit. The piping is just part of a kit from Pusher Intakes. This set up is probably one of the better ways to get the most outta these engines both on power, and driveability. You'll want to be careful with those rods tho hah. They're kinda weak.

    • @JohnKangas
      @JohnKangas  8 месяцев назад +1

      No washer fluid with hood exhaust. I have it switched to traditional exhaust now and I put a small aftermarket bottle where the hood exhaust used to go. If you're going hood exhaust, maybe a frame mounted bottle would work

    • @JohnKangas
      @JohnKangas  Год назад +1

      Hard to say what true install time was because I did some of it while the engine was out. I think Pusher says it's like a 5 hour job. I think it's more like 8.
