I think it’s time Messicks released a “Messicks a helping hand with your land” ringtone

Neil… With Messick’s being an EX Mark dealer, a video with a their stand on spreader/sprayer would be great to see (they are a great piece of equipment)!!! A video spraying your new yard 4-6 weeks after germination and with good soil moisture with a combination product that includes Quinclorac (kills grassy weeds) and a three way product to kill Broadleaf weeds. Then use the spreader to put down some starter fertilizer to promote the desirable grasses

I need some advice like this. Planning on trying tenacity in about a month.

@@MessicksEquip .. I like that call .. Probably a little safer on newer turf .. A lot of guys will throw it in the hydroseeder when they seed .. Tenacity will turn your weeds white .. We use the product on many jobs

Nice job Neil it really turned out great. That’s a ton of land and a ton of seed to have to always keep an eye on in the early months of fresh seed. Looks like your doing a great Job keeping it damp in such a hot/dry time of the year. I always wanted to buy a soil compactor.

It looks great. I wouldn't bother trying to fix the lawn next to the building, put patio blocks to run the mower deck to and eliminate trimming.

It's far better to have a totally GREEN Lawn than one that has only the finest grass and no weeds.

So neil are you planning on building that new building with that bamboo forest you have there….. bamboo is cool but its invasive give it time and that brand new gas is going to be nothing but bamboo

I love the bamboo. I just mow over the chutes when it tried to spread.

Great update, Here in Texas we have only one choice for grass and that is sod. None of the turf varieties grow from seed. The turf bermuda is sterile so won't grow from seed and St Augustine (AKA crab grass) doesn't really grow from seed and the other is Zoysia which is only available in sod form as well. Unfortunately it's very hard to grow KBG here.

Is there a roof over your deck? If not how do you keep the equipment and stuff under it dry?

The underside has sheet metal that pipes into a gutter.

    And
"Best to do in early spring..."
June is very early spring, ever other year snow is still on the ground come June 1... what am I not getting?

    • @MessicksEquip

By the end of June here we have 90 degree days.

Ah, didn't fully realise you were southerners- took me a second to find out you were in PA- even tho it's outright stated in some of your videos.
Thanks for the clarification, and for the content you put out

The next videos for your lawn could be a lime/fertilizer spreader after your soil tests. Get the Ph right and a lot of the chemicals won’t be needed.
Then in a year or two demonstration of the aerators would be cool.
I like the way you do real world applications for demonstrating equipment.
