UPDATE: Ah, so the tank is a water shooter, just like the Taco Bell tank. Some versions of it were packed with directions (mine wasn't). Some slips refer to the tank as a "rocket launcher" instead of a "tank shooter".

I was very young at the time, but I remember this KFC set. I live in Australia I remember not wanting the toys because Godzilla wasn't on many of them, but what I did get after begging was the Godzilla Head Puppet! loved it so much. Was thrown out because I kept scaring my young sister with it :P

The "black play doh" in the Godzilla city set was actually black plastcine which doesn't dry out. It just goes hard when cold and will soften when heated up. It even say plastcine on the wrapper of the toy

I'm from Asia and I have the stamper, it doesn't work anymore but I have that along with the 4" Godzilla, which is surprisingly detailed.
I got both those puppets. The adult one goes well when cosplaying as Nick Tatopoulos.
I'm pretty sure that the gimmick of that tank is that you take the top part off and submerged in water squeeze it and it's basically a water pistol.
Just had to say the Colonel MIB-Saunders makeup is great! Would have watched anyway but the thumbnail could have pulled me in by itself and the actual video appearance definitely lived up to that.

I actually did have some of these toys as a kid, although the only one I have vivid memories of is the Godzilla figure. I loved it.
I remember the godzilla puppets, I played with them in the hose of a friend when I was a kid here in Peru.

KFC in Australia also did a Godzilla hand puppet that had a button inside that made it roar. There was a 2nd variation for the sibling Godzilla.

We had the Godzilla toy run at KFC in New Zealand. I got the hand puppet, honestly the coolest toy ever if you wanted your Godzilla to eat your Hot Wheels cars. Also from memory, the tank shot water

I had a 1998 godzilla backpack when I was a kid with a huge latex head attacked to it. I just cut through the back that sealed it off that way I had a puppet and backpack.
Is there any record of what the first Godzilla merch ever to be released is? Like was there stuff handed out at the premiere of the 1954 movie? It'd be cool to know what the first Godzilla toy is.
Man, watching your review brings so much nostalgia and memory. This particular toys are so memorable to me. When I was a kid, I was admitted in the hospital and there was a KFC branch beside it. My mom bought the brown tank and the Godzilla stomper. Btw, I am from the Philippines. Love your review!

when i saw this video i was thinking that the slogan for kfc in 1998 would be like kentukey fried zilla toys. also this video was great MIB and when it showed the stamper i one time time when to a store were they had lots of classic toys and i saw that godzilla stamper there

These are the most underwhelming toys I've seen. Besides the actual figure toy! That one was awesome. If I was a kid I would be so disappointed if I didn't get the figure
As for King Kong, I know the 2005 film also had Burger King toys, outside of the USA.
The tank looks like it is a water squirter, since the back of the turret has, what looks to be grabbed and pulled back, and there is a tiny hole in the barrel.
