Then after being defeated by Godzilla, it was rebuild, either by aliens or evil humans, buyer's choice, with three mechanical heads and an additional one to make it even stronger. Cue the puzzle scene!

Thank you for confirming that I didn’t dream up this set. I clearly remember my cousin buying it at a garage sale and I never saw it again. I started to think that maybe it never happened and now I can be at peace when my days expire. Thank you MIB. Thank. You.
If I'd bring back the Tricephalon monster I think I'd make it like the classic Hydra since it has a one headed variant. Godzilla rips off the first head and then three take it's place.
can't deny that, cheap as a lot of it is, you definently got something out of it, kinda wish i had come across this when i was younger, although knowing younger me, im pretty sure i would have thought ghidorah was a rip-off or sub-species of the tricephalon
I have heard of this! Mainly through researching the Tricephalon Monster after it appeared in one of Vrahno's videos. I always thought it was a super neat concept, and I'd love to see these kinds of mini playsets come back, for Godzilla or anything else. I haven't seen too many recently.
That hole in Big-G is where they poured his mold, my guess being that due to his size it was awkward to pour. The soldiers are molds of Airfix WW2 U.S soldiers ...besides the radio guy, he's not Airfix to my limited knowledge.
I recommend flattening it and scanning each piece. Once you have the pieces scanned you can buy sticker paper to print on and you can use better cardboard to stick it on. This way you don't ruin the original set and keep it intact
I love these videos! I am never disappointed! You have helped me through a lot, from falling off my motorbike, my depression, and even a full on concussion! All I can say is Thank you MIB! Inc singer a job, I promise to get some merch to help ya out! Keep up the awesome work!

Oh man, those extra-tiny army guys were the type you get from those “200 Piece Military Set for $1.49!” ads on the back of comic books _waaaaaaaay_ back in the day 😆 What a throwback! Thx MIB 😁 PS- 7:48 Vintage Goofy yell FTW 😂
Pretty sure the armored cars are Panhard 178's. Very strange to see those as a US Army weapon. Wish they had gone the Greyhound or Sherman route, but the former has 8 wheels and the latter has tracks, so it was probably a cost thing.
MIB, you've have GOT to cover the old Polar Lights/Aurora Godzilla model kits, and all the other Movie Monsters they covered back in the day, I'd always see them in Hobby Lobby as a kid, and wanted to collect them all sooo badly, specifically the Monster racers and dragsters.
I have a fascination with the "fringe" kaiju of the G-universe (comic and cartoon monsters, etc) so Tricephalon has long been on my want list. When I first saw a picture of it as an adult, something rang very familiar about him. I don't think I ever owned this set as a kid, but I think I may have had a cousin or neighbor that did. As always, great video!
I've had the Godzilla from this set for a long time (bought it from goodwill) I thought it was worthless now that I know its back story its a cool piece in my collection. Thanks MIB!
This was an awesome video! I love Godzilla playsets. Funny how mostly American companies made city destroying Godzilla playsets. I would love to see MIB talk about Godzilla Attacks NY by Trendmasters.
with how I can no longer find this set, I'll just have to recreate with a 3-D printer, at least Godzilla and the Tricephalon figures are still available even for extreme prices, so I'll buy a 3-D printer and possibly redesign the Tricephalon to match the other Godzilla figures and improve the set a bit
This is the coolest! As a kid , we had found a zilla glow in the dark battle scene that you would hang up on the wall, but I never wanted it hung up, I would play with the buildings, zilla and army men, making the crouching (and smallest) Nick topadorableness who would protect godzilla! It worked for me and just having some buildings then the main mans was great, but this is such a cool idea and must've been pretty fun to invent, I can only imagine picking out the poses and cutouts :p
I made a video about the red Tricephalon a number of years ago. Rumor also had it H.G toys couldn’t afford to license out Ghidorah so they made Tricephalon. Those thin plastic vehicles remind me of something you'd see in an arcade ticket redemption counter as some of the least amount of tickets prizes you can get. Especially the planes. I wonder if this company made those things for arcade/carnival prizes as well as these play-sets.
Playmates should be doing something like this for the MonsterVerse line. Give us a battleset with Godzilla (2014)& the Mutos with tiny modern army vehicles, soldiers, civilians, buildings, the Golden Gate Bridge, etc. For Kong, give us a Skull Island battle set with the giant Skull Devil & tiny Skull Crawlers, trees, mountains, a tiny version of The Gray Fox boat etc.
Godzilla: "defeated the monster then looks at the Boat." Finally! A worthy opponent! OUR BATTLE SHALL BE LEGENDARY!! actually that set came out in the 70's so wouldn't that mean there battle will be Showa? :3 Godzilla:...."crushed me."
If you don't want to risk damaging the original cardboard pieces, I don't imagine it would be too difficult to scan them, touch them up a bit, and reprint them onto new cardstock provided you have the ability and think it would be worth the effort. Toy Polloi does that sort of thing pretty often to replace damaged or missing stickers on his restorations, and would be good reference. It also helps that they're already kind of cheap and the printing is one-sided.

"rip a nub off" sounds way grosser out of context and I love it.
