NOTE: The host device must be Windows 10 or later or macOS Catalina 10.15 or later.
can a mobile phone serve as host for meshnet?
What about a dedicated Raspberry Pi3B Running Raspbian or Linux? Would that work? Thanks for the video. Netpricks are getting way too greedy for my taste and I was going to cancel since I had just about enough of their greedy policies.
Does the process always have to start over logging into Nord and using meshnet every time you restart the firestick?
out of respect for Netflix and their decision to crack down on password sharing i canceled my account.
The best work around is to dump Netflix. Let them feel the financial repercussions of what they caused. They permitted you to share your password and encouraged it in the past
I'd love to know how many customers have dumped Netflix because of their greed.
Netflix stock is up 34 percent since they started this… so not many
They encouraged it? Do you have proof? Maybe I missed that.
We dumped it had it for years was like 30 a month with all the screens just had it for the grand kids it really wasn't worth it
Apparently Netflix profit is up but the stock market says it’s gone down. So I don’t know
Brilliant info Tanya, thank you for sharing 👍 what a great workaround 😃
Glad it was helpful!
You're the best been watching you for years learned everything I know because of you keep it up
Happy to hear that!
Good walkthrough Mrs T 👍👍👍
I'm sure this'll be helpful to many people nice one Tanya 👍
Excelente video y muy buena opción e información. Gracias Tanya.
Well done the work around is perfect. Thank you
Thanks for sharing. Very clean step-by-step video
Glad you liked it
Tanya you are something special 😊
Nice! Didn't take long to come up with a shortcut for that.
Glad it helped!
Another great I. video delivered slowly step by step so easy to follow..
WOW!! You are absolutely the VERY BEST out here on these matters.
Glad you think so!
@@FireTVSticks I have watched MANY videos of other presenters and YES, YOU ARE!
Thank you. Blessings!!!
Thanks for this bit of news. I think then that one solution that might be worthwhile to consider is to:
1. Set up the meshnet as mentioned in your video and turn on for a few days
2. Everyone, during that narrow window of time, connects all their devices (Home TV, FireStick, iDevice) to Netflix via the Meshnet so that the proposed 31 day counter is started
3. Meshnet host is turned off so that the data traffic is not pushed to throughput capacity by accident (ie. If connected to the Mesh, all your data traffic is routed through the home network and so if you have limited bandwidth or data, it will get slammed)
4. Rinse and repeat a 28-31 days later
Please note that the 31 day counter post by Netflix was recently removed so we are not sure if this is still going to be the case.
I can see them reducing that month down to a week and in the not to distant future given they removed the 31 days post.
Well done. I always thought that if the same VPN location was used that the login could be shared. My only concern is if I can use other VPN locations if I want any UK content instead of the US. As far as hosting or maintaining a connection to the VPN 24/7, I guess a mini-PC could get it done or an older buggy PC might be able to. I'm in the mountains so power outages are going to be an issue about 3-8 times a year depending on the weather. Thanks again for the detailed and well demonstrated solutions to corporate greed. You're always the first to present solutions.
Apologies if I wasn't clear in the video. The host device must always be powered on when Netflix is being accessed from outside your household. The host can be shut down if no one is using it.
Thanks for watching 🙂
@@FireTVSticks No worries from me lil' cuteness. Thak you for clearing that up. I'm entirely sure it was my misinterpretation. I truly enjoy your presentations and often misunderstand what I hear from many youtube presenters. Most of the time I can't get my message across correctly without bothering someone accidently in person or in a text, lol. Good luck with all your future projects.
@@FireTVSticks I share with my brothers and they can access outside my household at any time day or night, 24/7. I´m wondering witch device should I use as the Host device in this scenario. Could be my Android Device? (It remains powered on almost 24/7) Thanks.
@@nikysony Which devices could be Host devices was covered in the video.
Great video, thank you so much, the work around will help me.
Glad to hear it!
Seems like a pretty simple method. Although I''m still able to access my friend's netflix account half way around the world but if i log out then I won't be able to log in again. So I'll save this video for a rainy day thanks!
Great video ... there is always another way!
Thank you, beautiful Tanya!!
Tanya this is excellent thank you so much appreciate all you do.

Thank you Tanya for another great video. Does that connection work on any other VPN, such as IP VANISH?
Not that I know, sorry.

Hiya Tanya this has nothing to do with the video just letting you know that go player TV all links are working now love the video 😊
Excellent tutorial. Thank you.
You are welcome!
Thank you for the help. Nice simple video.
You're welcome!
Hi Tanya. Hope all is well. Things are kinda going ok, on my side :)
Not sure if this is a silly question but do you have to login with the NordVPN details on the fire stick or mobile first? How would it detect the host if you’re in another household?
Hi. As mentioned in the video, the other devices will need to log in with the same username and password to Nord as the host device uses. If you do not wish to share the login details, I also explain in the video how to send an invitation to another user at this point of the video: 7:35 Other NordVPN users. Hope this helps! :)
@@FireTVSticks Oh I must have missed that part. Thanks for your help
thank you you are the best.
Nice one, thanks 😊

If I set up a mesh net at my house and connect my daughter, who lives in another city, does this mean that all her internet traffic will be routed through my house, through my router and internet connection? I would then have twice as much data traveling through my cable connection, and that would take up a lot of bandwidth, slowing down my connection. Please correct me if I am not understanding it right.
When she is connected yes. But this is only necessary while using Netflix. Meshnet can then be turned off and on again when needed.
Hey Tanya Good video.
Thanks for watching
Another great well explained video.Just one slight error, when you first open the app you say click on the netmesh icon on the right hand side, when it is on the left...
Thanks for that!
I’m in the UK, and we have a family account. So we all have our own profiles is. And then, of course the crack down, so we can’t have our Netflix on things like TVs. An Xbox is consoles.. but if we all have our own family account on things like smart phones and tablets, it still works
Does this process all actual traffic through your router, or simply offers a redirect? It would seem to bog down your own connection if you had to process all media in/out through your modem.
While they are connected, yes. The connection can be terminated once they have finished using Netflix.
Thank you for this great video! 🙂Do I understand well that if I install Nord VPN on my laptop (main device) I have to leave my laptop at home and awake, if I e.g. I am on a business trip or vacation and want to use my Netflix?
Unfortunately, with this method, yes, it is correct.
Thanks again gorgeous Tanya 😍..
My pleasure 😊
This might be a good workaround. As I understand, you can still access your Netflix account even with a different ISP/IP as long as you connect to your main ISP once every 30 days, so it means that you don't need to have meshnet always running, you just need to run it once every month, am I right?
Yes, in theory, you are correct.
You're just Awesome!
Wow, thanks!
Hi, it’s my understanding that family members only need to connect to the Netflix account holders router once per month to stay connected. So would it be sufficient to simply make this meshnet connection once per month?
Technically yes, that is correct.
Hi Tanya, many thanks for posting this. We are using Netflix with a VPN service provided by my synology router at home. It works great with different locations BUT limited to smartphones and laptops. Firestick is a different story. We use a VPN in a smartphone and share via wifi the connectin with the firestick. But it doesn't work... How is this different to the Nordvpn option you're suggesting (and that I will definetely try...)?
Can you provide more details about the issue you are experiencing when attempting to share your phone's Wi-Fi connection with the Firestick? Are you receiving any error messages?
Yes on my phone I can’t access anything they gives me message “your device isn’t part of Netflix household for this account how can i fix it
I don't even have a Netflix account or a password of someone else with an account but I am still interested in the method!
Good job
Does this have the potential to slow down the host internet as it appears that all others will now be using the same IP for everything - not just Netflix, right?
Potentially, but only when connected. My suggestion of utilising Meshnet applies to situations where you only stream content from Netflix. After the other devices have stopped using Netflix, switching off the Meshnet connection when it is not needed is advisable.
Is it sufficient to click route traffic on the e.g. fire TV stick or do we have to do anything at the main device (notebook)? We did everything like in the video, but it's not working and when I check NordVPN on my notebook everything is green on the main page but if I click Route traffic it says "Traffic routing not allowed". We tried a Fire TV stick and SmartTV. Thanks ❤
Following all the steps in the video should work. However, if it is not for you, please confirm which model of Fire TV you are using. Thanks.
It's more important that it runs at the smart tv (Sony Bravia KD-55XE8096). The fire tv stick (4k, 1st gen) is in the same household as the main device. It was just to check how it's working. Thanks for your help, it's appreciated 😊
Thanks!
Welcome!
I'm not sure what changes Netflix have made but as an account holder I assume I can still access my account when I'm abroad without having to use a VPN correct?
You should be able to yes.
Thanks Tanya for this information
My pleasure 😊
SWEET!😀👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Thank you
Your the best girl, I use Express VPN
Gorgeous Muuuaaaahhhh ❤❤❤
Thank you!!
Would this work if the host is on a CGNat, and don't get a public IP address. Just wondering how Netflix knows when you are not on your home network. Because as I understand you don't get an IP when your ISP is using CGNat.
I do not know, sorry.
Do we need to keep the mesh network connected all the time. Or can we do this once in a month or so?
In theory, it is only needed once a month or so. However, rules change frequently, so it is best to try it out and see what happens!
@@FireTVSticks thank you
Can use another vpn service while using free nord meshnet ? just thought if want to watch in different country
Great tutorial!
Not on the host device as the Meshnet creates a VPN connection. it's only possible for 1 active VPN connection at a time per device.
E.g. If you have Meshnet running on your host device, you can use another VPN service on your other devices.
I think there may be a problem on older fire sticks that won't undate to the latest software. On my fire stick the nord vpn app doesn't have the mesh net option.
Can you please let me know which Firestick model you have and which version of NordVPN is currently installed on it?
Also, is there privacy issues? Can the host see what the other users are doing on the internet? Again, they are all using the same IP address - if I understand this correctly.
It is possible for the host to view the browsing history by logging into their router. Nonetheless, I presume that you are only granting access to your trusted acquaintances or relatives. My suggestion of utilizing Meshnet applies to situations where you only stream content from Netflix. After the other devices have stopped using Netflix, it is advisable to switch off the Meshnet connection when it is not needed.
In your video you state that you don't need to have a NordVP account t or subscription, but can you use another VPN at the same time?
When you turn on Meshnet, it creates a VPN connection that stops you from using any other VPN connection at the same time. But you can disconnect from Meshnet when you're done and use any other VPN as normal.
Thanks for this
My pleasure!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
That’s great idea but how does it work for using Netflix on your smart tv ?
You can search for the NordVPN app on your TV's app store, depending on its model.
Okay so my sister let me borrow her account there’s 5 accounts on there ( users) and for some reason when I try watching my episodes it won’t let me I could only use the kids section of Netflix although I have her email and info what’s could be the issue ?
It looks like the profile you're using might be for kids. If you need to change this, just head to the account settings.
Thanks
As i watch TV Series like CSI Vas Vegas, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, CSI: Cyber, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS, NCIS L.A, NCIS Hawaii, Hawaii Five O, FBI, etc so I need to know where I can Download a really Movie/TV site without using a VPN And I Live In the Republic Ireland.

So in essence this should work for any of the streaming services as well, like hulu tv or RUclips tv
Yes
You can use a Raspberry pie for meshnet

Does it work when original Netflix is in one country and i wish to use it in a different country?
Yes by following the steps in this video.
2:33 Won't that send all of the bandwidth of the external users through your internet connection when they use this vpn?
While they are connected, yes. The connection can be terminated once they have finished using Netflix.
@@FireTVSticks My concern is that for those who use there could be bandith problems and if they have a data usage cap this could be a problem.
@@drescherjm As long as the family member login using this method once a month they can go back to using their own connection again after.
The only thing I am unsure of is if just logging into netflix using this method is enough or if they have to at least start playing a video first, I would assume logging in would be enough but given it is Netflix :D
Netflix isn’t worth the workaround anymore honestly. I’ve always paid for an account but the last 9mos or so I just cancelled with the poor content offerings now and the constant price hikes.
I want to believe it's also possible to have multiple logins if all devices are connected to the same dedicated IP address if a VPN offers such like Surfshark VPN.
I haven't looked into it, but you could try 🙂
Sounds good but I am hoping to finally cancel NETFLIX!!
Hi Tanya, I am looking for any addon that will give me access to TV in the Philippines
Hi. Please take a look at my website firetvsticks.com for AIO (All-in-One) Kodi addons. You will have to install a few addons to find which carries the channels you are looking for.
Alternatively, you could consider an IPTV service. Again, you can find my recommendations on my website :)
Already dumped Netflix. Increasing prices while decreasing good content. Not a good business strategy. Also making it inconvenient to use. I only kept it because I could use anywhere I went.
Will this affect the data use charges for the host?
Yes, data will be used at the host device.
I imagine it won’t be long before Meshnet IP’s, like VPN IP’s are with Banks, will be blocked. Nice work around though.
We shall see
I didn't need to download the app, I shared my Hotspot from my cellphone device to my TV and because I already had Netflix it worked on the tv
Thanks , gorgeous 😍 😘 💕
No problem 😊
How do I download/install the NordVPN App to my Samsung smart TV, or Fetch (STB) ? - there seems to be no option for that
All download options available for NordVPN can be found on their download page: nordvpn.com/download/.
Unless the TV or Fetch (STB) are capable of installing android apps or their own app stores have NordVPN apps with the meshnet component then you should be good to go.
If either of the devices are at the primary address for netflix then this account sharing should not effect those devices either.
❤
