If we don't protest by downgrading or better canceling all others will follow suit
Lol I wish. Netflix got 4mil additional accounts as shared users plan after this. Most people don’t think like us.
They are probably thinking of making a family plan @@youc2323
This was prophecy...it was a news article saying Disney+, Hulu, etc are "following Netflix's lead" which led me to here to find ways to stick it to the man.
You called this, 100% nailed it.
@@BrandonS-lk2qc They need to be careful. Some people have these subscriptions and don't watch them very often. Personally, if RUclips ever becomes an issue that would be a problem for me.
Too late
My solution was even better. I immediately canceled my account. They can stick it. Hope this works out for them.
Good for you 😂😂😂 they cannot manipulate people anymore. They can f... themselves.
😂😂😂
filed a complaint to the BBB, the subscription we pay for says six devices. Not one household ... edit BBB did not accept my complaint, just canceling , second edit, BBB did accept my second complaint... I did "not" seek legal claims or anything, I just wanted them(netflix) to listen to what I had to say.
In the "household", lives an 80 yr old man that will never use Netflix, a 60 yr old man that will never use Netflix, and two kids that visit once and a while... my mother who pays for Netflix as a gift to her kids and grandkids, she next to never watches Netflix. So now Netflix is locked down to house it will almost never get used . We've been subscribed for over a decade.
Hbo max will be getting a lot of new subscribers over this, that is what we are leaning towards.
There are a lot better streaming options then there used to be, I really like discovery + too. Netflix does not hold the same monopoly they used to.
don't be cheap lol
@pem3480 if you feel justified judging me as a stranger, that's on you
Edit: It is not for you and Netflix to decide who is freeloading, which is a lie in the first place when the service is being paid for.
@@pem3480no these companies need to stop raising their prices faster than than wages rise. MANY companies are doing this. Netflix is charging triple what I use to pay many years ago. I don't make triple, nor does anyone else I know, make triple what they did 15 years ago. These companies need to be put in their place. Hence we all just need to cancel our subscriptions.
@@Steven-gv1kethey haven’t tripled the value of what they’re proving for the money either.
I literally live in two states and this is annoying
As consumers, we need to fight back by mass cancelation of Netflix. They will respond to a boycott!
This did happen apparently more than 1 million people canceled in like a day and they still saw profit and kept this shit
@@ozaifa.r sad!
I think we should discourage leachers too. I mean if it’s my mom’s account in another house it’s fine, but a free loading neighbor is just stealing content. We need balance
@@edwardo44 Corporations are the freeloaders!
@@edwardo44 Neighbor was a weird scenario, if you don’t want them to have your Netflix I’m sure you just won’t give it to them.

I don't use wifi. I got Netflix for my phone that only runs on data now I'm using my laptop connected to that data and it's still saying this?
Fu** netflix! I cancelled my account and went back to Blue Ray and torrents.
Good for you 👏👏👏
I just canceled mine, not worth it
A company that makes over 30 billion a year who’s profit has went up with each passing year not satisfied proves how greedy they are. If they seen a drop in profit I could understand.
Just canceled my account, the way this is setup, I would be paying more for cable
I’m looking to all the other streaming services to rub password sharing in Netflix’s face.
I solved this today, five minutes after encountering this problem in MY house, with MY account on MY ipad. I ended my Netflix sub.
This is cool but Netflix isn’t even worth this so much trouble if we’re honest
Step 1: unsubscribe from Netflix
Step 2: find a different stream
Step 3: tell your friends
Repeat step 3 for better results
I just cancelled my subscription after my told me he couldn’t access the Netflix account.I refuse to pay more money as I’m already paying for a family plan.
Netflix is hell with us military members (and those that travel). Does netflix really believe that everyone is stuck on their couch like its still quarantine? I cant e en use it because my dad is the primary account holder and he's contracting outside of the country. Our household uses it occasionally so what the hell is he wven paying for if half of us cant use it?
Omg this is exactly my problem!! I’m in the states but my dad is also in another country doing a contract job for the military too. This sucks! It works for my phone but when I try using it on my ps5, it kicks me off. I signed in on my ps5 for the first time in several months and Netflix let me watch for a week but then of course I was booted out again. Super annoying!
@@i_am_nishajhave you tried making sure you don’t have two many devices connected at once 😊
I hope they will get bankrupt for being greedy
same
They won't until people finally get fed up and shut it all off. As of now your price will keep going up with less content and more ads. I just pirate it now 👍
I opened up my account at friends house. Didn’t use Netflix for 31 days in my home and now it says my own household is not the right household. Had to have my friend delete app on tv….still didn’t work. I also travel for work. It gave me option for travel but stopped working after a couple of weeks. So i just deleted app and stopped subscription.
Not working for some reason idk. Maybe just beacuse im in India , its too much password sharing.
Hahahahaha maybe one user who pays and a million relatives with password sharing hahahahahaha
If you are into dolby vision and dolby atmos, Netflix is the way to go as they clearly have the most titles with those offerings. Great guide. Tried yesterday but looks like they added a step to verify/add the device to the "home network". This requires confirming on a tv device located inside the home network as well now. Netflix really diving in deep to stop passeord sharing.
What I noticed too was if other Primary accounts in that household are on your Netflix switch to their accounts then afterwards switch back to your profile somehow it works
They fixed that :/ no longer can use the primary
doesn't work anymore. It only works as long as you are using the VPN. You sign out, you get the "error message"
My father has dual citizenship. He shouldn’t have to be charged as an extra user since he stays in my house for half of the year.
Looks like firesticks now show "not supported on mobile devices"
So what if I’m blocked because I’m using someone’s password all I have to do is bring my device (roku tv) to the primary household account WiFi connect to it and I’ll be good again for 31 days then repeat the process??
I can not w that answer 😂😂
I just cancelled my account. They don't allow you to share with family anymore even with the highest tier plan.
Is this method still possible? I have tested it and it still doesn't work for me.
Who thought of this one household crap. The majory of people who share accounts are siblings or friend who live separately and some of us have 2 homes, like i have to each time change the household when im at my moms place and then again in my place and my siblings the same its a nightmare, im i expected to pay 2 accounts
I can't install NordVPN on my TV. If I install it on my mobile device, connect to the Meshnet, and then enable a mobile hotspot to connect the TV to the hotspot, that should work in theory, right?
I haven't tried that, but in theory yes it should work.
I've been using my friends netflix account since 2018 (yes I'm cheap, blah blah blah).
Ever since the ol' crackdown I've been trying to work out a way to watch her netflix without paying and I've looked into VPNs etc and tbh it looks like more hassle than it's worth.
Turns out you can still cast via Chromecast if you have one! It doesn't pick up your network and Idk how this would work on TVs that have built in Chromecast or Nvidia shields but my old school chromecast had no issues casting to my TV. Don't get me wrong, we're not hitting 4k but 1080p will do me just fine tyvm.
I hope this helps someone?
this meshnet workaround takes 30 seconds tho
I tried to screen cast, but it was making me go back to setting up. The TV ss my home net work
I tried to cast as well from both phone and tablet and it came up w the pop-up of it's adding new person. How do I get it to cast from tablet ? Wo asking that info
@@jese2222able same happened to me today. They've finally sussed us out
I can't find an option for a free account with NordVPN, only the 30 day free trial, then you have to choose a sub.
Create an account then log in to the app. It might ask you to subscribe, but you can just close that. You don't need to have an active subscription for meshnet.
So are u saying u can run meshney w a VPN free wo a subscription to Nord. ? I'm lost. Also I have a surface 9 w windows can I run it off of that ? And a Roku TV. No fire stick
Is it only with tv? Because i can access on mobile.
Yes the limitation (for now) only applies to TVs and not to mobile devices
It still works just have to send a email allowing the device.
Amazing video. You explained the problem and a solution!
Thanks!
just go pirate, there are hundreds of thousands of those website
Can you watch Netflix on any device after you bypass with meshnet? or can you only watch it on the firestick?
Only the device connected to Meshnet
Yeah I no longer have access to Netflix because I wasn’t that interested in their original content to begin with, so they’re gonna lose subscribers. The main reason they’re going to is because there are so many people out there who only pay for Netflix to allow their kids or even grandkids to watch. I like Stranger Things, I like Wednesday. It’s cheaper for me in the long run to just buy those on blu ray
The people running Netflix are dumb. They really should be taking the time to read the feedback on the RUclips comments to see why some people are cancelling their Netflix subscriptions.
I don’t have meshnet on my fire stick device
That's why I use a firestick. Easy to jailbreak so I get any movie and TV show for free
How?
@PheonixRain just watch some videos on it. Easy to explain, just to long to explain in a comment section

im a new subscriber, just a month ago,and now i want to unsubcribe to this shitty netflix
So I found a way. I live a couple apartments down from my mom and she has it on her Wi-Fi I just barley don’t reach the Wi-Fi. But I was able to run over to her house and scan the barcode on her tv and mine and it still worked. So if you have a 3 phones you can still probably do it. One person at the home where the account is main. The second calling on FaceTime or something and showing the barcode and the 3rd to scan the bard code from another house. It worked
Please make a video of this.. seems hard to understand reading it😢

That's a good question. Haven't tried that, but I would suppose it should, if we can get the Linux app on the Raspberry Pi..!

Indeed. I made another video on it running on a Pi, if you’re interested;

Chromecasting from a phone to a smart tv not working also.
Just happened to me today. In the US
I live in my parent's house; and I still get the message. I watched netflix on my phone 7 days ago; why am I all the sadden getting this message ? ( i heve never used any vpn on my phone ).I live in the household. I don't live anywhere else 😂
Only works if the pc on meshnet is running 24/7. The “once every 31 days” is bs. Once you disconnect from
Meshnet or the pc disconnects for whatever reason you will get the same message again, at least on android tv.
Interesting. I've tested it on 2 different TVs, both in different countries (both on FireStick). Both were getting the message. Connected via meshnet and signed in. Disconnected right after. Both are still working up until now (5-6 days later).
Isn’t working anymore!
Damn well explained ❤
Thanks!
So if I am the acct holder for Nord VPN and my brother in law is the netflix household, can i piggy back HIS IP INTO my home or does the Meshnet need to be COMING FROM HIS house?
If his house is considered the Netflix household, then you have to connect to him so your IP address appears to be "in his house". Doesn't matter who owns the NordVPN account. He can make a free account, and you can connect to him with Meshnet.
how do I get a free NordVPN account, all options are for pay?
You can only have meshnet for free, accessing other VPN services requires a paid account
Netflix is being EXTREMELY GREEDY!
Everyone should cancel & switch to Prime!
They’re not going bankrupt!
If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it!
Tried this, but it's not working with a free account. I can log in to NordVPN and get free Meshnet started. Installed the app on my fire tv, logged in there...and that's where it doesn't work. Without a subscription, I don't see Meshnet as an option and any click brings me to the subscription page. Any ideas?
I just logged in with another account that does not have an active subscription. Also installed it on Fire Stick. It worked perfectly. Try quitting the app and opening again, should allow you to turn meshnet on without throwing the subscription options at you.
@@RawansReviews You're right. Tried this out on a Fire stick 4k and I do see the Meshnet option. My fire box 2nd gen is running Fire OS 5.x and Meshnet isn't there on that version of NordVPN..
It was working for me until this last weekend. I've swear we have tried everything and can't get it to work.
Ok i will create share email and tour protect is down, so stupide :)
Just cancel Netflix it sucks now anyways
Would it work to connect a laptop to the "home" device via Meshnet, and create a hotspot on said laptop that the Samsung TV can connect to?
That’s a good thought. I don’t see why it wouldn’t. I’m away from home so couldn’t test with that particular set up. But tested the following: on PC, connected to VPN to change country (from current country to new country). Verified IP address now showing new country. Connected iPhone via meshnet to PC. iPhone IP now also shows new country. Then created a hotspot, connected iPad to iPhone’s hotspot. iPad IP now shows new country as well. So in theory, it should work!
I've stopped using Netflix altogether. It's just dumb.
What's another streaming service that is just like netflix but better. I'm thinking about cancelling
Its stupid. I pay for the max screens. Tf does it matter if its in the same household.
Or you can just cancel Netflix
I don't care anyway, I had it because my daughters boyfriend had it so we got it as a family member, I'm glad they've done it, their own films were woke garbage, I ended up only watching old movies and documentaries.
How to solve it? Pirate it and send a screenshot of the Netflix logo to your friend to laugh at them.
the question is how 🥲
Do you know whether I'll be able to watch through my laptop?
Watching on computers is not affected (yet at least).
@@RawansReviews thanks :)
Has anyone tried this today since this video was 10 months ago?
As far as I know-still works!
Still works today, thanks!
Pleasure!
I have free vpn canon do same thing
But many users run apps on their TV. How do you install Meshnet on your TV?
Some TVs have NordVPN in their app stores. So you would install it directly on your TV
@@RawansReviews Yes, Android TV's, but i have never seen any others have NordVPN as an app.
I found a work around for my phone
One question... can Meshnet run on a Ubuntu server (for example) at home (with Meshet also installed on my Mac using the same physical location)?? Keeping a laptop computer on day and night is not practical. When I 'dial in' from another location (using a different computer) over Meshnet to watch Netflix will everything just work? Watching Linus Tech Tips video about 'Tailscale' (a similar technoloy) it suggests that it should work. Sorry for making things so verbose!
That's a very valid point. I haven't tested that, but in theory, it should work. I'm also thinking it should work on a Raspberry Pi (even more accessible for people to leave on, if they don't have a server). I might give that a test, I'll report back if I do
Hi again-I tried the solution on a Raspberry Pi, and it works indeed! Made another video on that, if you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/jFbS2G-EXkQ/видео.html
Excellent. Thanks for testing that out! I had some up-and-down success with testing this on a Ubuntu VM in Azure but I guess Netflix know which IP address ranges are used for such purposes. My years old Intel NUC (at home) might now finally have a purpose 🙂
@@galwayguy1985 what about Twingate?
If Netflix was actually worth watching, then maybe I'd take the time to bypass the "crackdown."
What kind of stupid idea is this from Netflix from a consumers pov this seems like it should be illegal of Netflix. What if a household was purely using cellular and didn't have home WiFi. Also I don't use WiFi I only use hardwired connections for my home secure network stupid of Netflix to require WiFi?? And thirdly how does Netflix even know I am on a different network when I am using a dynamic IP for my internet, my location based on my IP would be the same for my family based on proximity the ISP is using the same IP scope for us. Yet today we got one of these notices dispute both our tv's being hardwired from the same ISP same location based on public IP.... I fully expect to be blocked randomly and unrightfully on my own TV because of the ramshackle shitshow of how Netflix programmed this... Seriously if Netflix is making us pay $30 Cad a month for 4k then they do this on top... They seriously need new management.
That's why I torrent my movies and shows I do it to avoid theaters
I don’t need Netflix … it sucks and has mostly trash shows

Bye. You are selling a service
It can’t be _selling_ when said service is free, can it now 😉
I'm not a computer guy, but I was wondering if a VPN would trick them, but you say it needs something more, the Meshnet? Why wouldn't just a VPN do it?
Also, would a VPN with Meshnet work on my xfinity account too?
If you use VPN, all you're doing is changing your IP address, so Netflix sees you as somewhere else. This isn't currently the issue. The issue currently is that anyone who needs to connect to the same Netflix account has to be in the same house / on the same network. This is what Meshnet gives you; devices, wherever they are around the world, will appear as if they're all in the same house / under the same network.
@@RawansReviews I suspected that from your video. Now I understand. Thank you for confirming!
Will this work for xfinity too??

Through my mac and my nordvpn account can I make connect a friend from his pc with Meshnet?
Yup, this works cross platform so a Mac and a PC can connect through Meshnet!
Boycotting
I have understood how it all works but I do have a newby question. So I have been using Netflix for years from my home with a particular IP Address. When Nord Meshnet is activated, it creates a different IP from my home's IP. Won't Netflix flag this as a different IP? Please explain.
P.S... Here in Australia, although the crackdown has started, my daughter can still use my account in her home until Netflix flags it, so I'm still fine but no doubt soon they will crack down on it. I have had a subscription with Nord for a while so I just want to know how exactly this will work. I know what my daughter will need to do to connect and correct me if I'm wrong please. After logging in to Nord on my computer at my home and enabling Meshnet (done so and have an everest IP address), my daughter will need to install Nord on her firestick in her home, login with my subscribed account, enable Meshnet and connect to my everest IP. So far so good. What I don't understand is that my home IP that I have been using starts with 120 but the everest IP starts with 100. Won't Netflix flag this as a different IP. Would appreciate some clarification TIA
That's a very valid question. The Everest IP you're seeing is the meshnet IP (similar to your LAN / local IP). What matters to Netflix is your public IP. When your daughter routs her Firestick to your your computer at home, she will have the same public IP address as your home computer does. So as far as Netflix is concerned, your daughter is there at home, with you and your computer ;)
Also; your understanding of how this would work is spot on--with the only exception; your daughter can, but doesn't need to, use your own NordVPN account to log in. She can create her own NordVPN account, and you can invite her as an external user / external device. Other than that, you got it all right!
@@RawansReviews Not sure if you have really answered my question. Netflix is aware of my public IP. When I use the Everest IP, won't that flag a different IP from my Public IP, therefore causing a problem with Netflix?
@@RawansReviews I know it's not hard to create a free account with Nord but if she can login to my Nord subscription from her house and just connect to my Meshnet IP (Everest), we'll just leave it at that. That should work correct?
@billmagousis6231 what I’m saying is your Everest IP is not your public IP. All connected devices would have the same public IP, so nothing for Netflix to flag.
Cool.. doesn’t work at all, but cool..😐
