Thanks! For no discernible reason one of my Echo Dots disconnected overnight, and although I followed the correct procedure it stubbornly refused to reconnect again. Restarting my modem is what fixed it. How random, but it worked!!
All you need to do while its going orange just close the bluetooth in your phone and start the searching process and you should be connected to your wifi from your phone then it’s going to work

Lolol big goofy mistake I made For whatever reason I logged into the router and was playing w the wifi settings, I can manually disable wifi for specific devices in my home. I disabled alexa
Couple of options, a) You have some one else's that they set up and returned without delinking registration so try to convince Amazon it is now yours. b) return for refund. c) Hit it with a hammer, Photonicinduction style.

I have selected the Network passwords, rebooted the pop, and blinking Orange lights, but when I reach "Connecting to the wifi," it fails, and error msg to check this and check that and try again. My home wifi has no issue, and all other devices are working. Not sure what else shall I do
Accidentally reset my modem to factory settings and all Alexa devices wouldn’t connect to new wifi name and password. Tried everything. Finally figured out the connection was paused in the Xfinity app. Had to unpause and then was able to connect through Alexa app. Unpaused through xfinity app by going to Wifi > Devices not connected > select Amazon Echo > unpause. Hope that helps someone, took me hours to figure out.
This problem began for me after I bought a newer router with top-level WiFi security. That was the problem. As of May 2024, older echo dots, smart lights, and smart locks might not work on more secure WiFi networks. The solution was "dumbing down" my WiFi network password security from WPA3 to WPA2. After that, suddenly, all of my devices began working again.
Gave up halfway through that, just going to send the useless thing back, but Amazon wants me to print a label they're going to send me, but I don't have a printer!

Not helpful. Can't get device in devices if wifi isn't set up but can't setup wifi without device in device list.

I got a echo dot today. Cannot connect to my phone WiFi. Says click on amazon in WiFi. But amazon is not in WiFi. Any idea. I'm in the UK also.
