Tyrion leaned back in the Dornish leather lounge chair swirling the whiskey in his glass, the ice cubes gently clinking was the only sound other than the drizzle of rain against the window in the darkened office of the Hand. His brooding thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the crackling voice of his intern Podrick on the intercom on his desk. "Uh...your sister the assistant executive wants to see you" Tryion sighed, so much for a quiet evening of planning and booze. He leaned over and pressed the brass button on the intercom with is free hand. "Better send the broad in Pod," he spoke into the box on his desk. No sooner than he took his hand off the button his sister burst into the room, her heels clacking on the rushes making the very sound of impatience. His sister stood fuming in a form-fitting red silk gown in the Myrish style, with slit up the leg and embroidered with golden lions that danced through the scroll-work. She clutched a long stemmed cigarette holder un-delicately in a gloved fist, she looked as though she wanted to stab him with it more than smoke the cigarette which had already gone out. Agitated as she was Tyrion couldn't resist a jibe, "Sis, a pretty dame like you shouldn't frown so hard, you'll get wrinkles and your face is really about your only good feature."
I love how the drummer makes a slight mistake at 00:20 but plays it off like nothing. I'm a drummer myself and didn't even notice it until watching this my 20th time. The brush work on this track is SOOO tastefully done. I am envious and inspired watching this. Well done guys. Gives me a whole new respect for Game of Thrones.
My aunt died over a year ago. We used to watch game of thrones all the time, it was something we did together. I have tons of emotion bottled up and havent been able to cry and let it all out. I feel it coming, but I never do manage to cry. Listening to this song broke down whatever wall was holding the flood back. Thank you.
This is the purpose of art, to unlock the human psyche to share or just for oneself. I am sorry for your loss. May it somehow make you a deeper more whole person.
toychristopher I image in it being a political thriller in the '80ies with families fighting for the white house, a place in the congress etc., with hot shot lawyers, big company CEO-s and of course a private detective working the mystery of Jon Snows' mother :D
Talekeeperstudios I see it more of a 1940's film noir. Picture Double Indemnity but with more people trying to take out more family member for insure claims lol, or maybe an earlier neo-noir like Chinatown?
Other songs they could play: "Red Wedding Blues" "A Bastard in the Rain" "You Still Know Nothing" "Dornish Dreams" "Sisters, Brothers" "The Mother of Three" "The Night is Dark" "Not Today" "A Crown for a King"
this moved me to tears. not because i'm a fan of the Thrones, and not because of the music itself, but because of whats going on behind the instruments. i don't know the background of any of the musicians here, i don't know if they're friends or merely working colleagues, but when i watch this i see a kind of bond or friendship, i can see a deep, unspoken language of appreciation and respect to each other that can only be spoken through the instruments they play and the passion of the music they've based their lifestyle on. this is something i so desperately want in my life, but cant have. i don't have the means to learn nor the place to do it.
One night, drive to downtown Westeros and visit Robert's Bar Atheon, meet Tyrion of Club Lannister, see The Wall of indy vinyl records, or tell the bartender you'll have the R R Martini. All men must dine!
That has to be the most respectful lead rif I've ever witnessed. Cudoz to the camera man too. Dave Coz is an exceptionally gracious talent as are all the accompaniments. What breaths they bring to a soul. Outstanding!
This would be great as a 50s "mike hammerish" detective story about corrupt politicians, the mob, and starcrossed love. Featuring Tyrion investigating the evil plots of his own family clan.
I love the drama, one of the best HBO drama series. This smooth jazz version of the theme music is exquisite. It's played by the quartet featuring Dave Koz, who is absolutely my most favorite saxophonist. How sweet this is!
This was... amazing. Truly amazing. I cannot believe how well this arrangement works and I never thought I'd hear anything like it, but I'm so glad you guys made this. I've yet to hear anything on your channel I didn't immediately love and this continues the trend. Excellent work.
I imagine this being the theme to an alternate universe version of Game of Thrones, where the houses are represented by members of the Rat Pack. Awesome job as always.
Mi deepest admiration for tou guys, you are only four people but with only those instruments have got to do so much change with music, love all what you do ❤❤❤
That "weird" side of RUclips people often refer to as "running into"? I'm on the opposite side; THE KICK ASS SIDE of RUclips.....and I never want to leave!.
TheHazeist I had a condition called "popliteal artery entrapment" and had 14 and soon 15 surgeries on my legs. The pain made me suicidal. Docs had no idea what it was. Went on for..10 YEARS...and I lost my marriage, my house, my job. A NIGHTMARE. Fortunately, I found the right surgeons and they've been fixing it. "RECALLED TO LIFE" as it is said in Dickens "A Tale of Two Cities". I feel like I've been given a new life. The avatar is the back of the leg where the surgeons worked.
michael allen Thanks for sharing, man. I thought it was a pic of an arm. Anyway, your story is tragic but inspirational nonetheless. Don't give up, man. Descartes once said, "In order to determine whether we can know anything with certainty, we first have to doubt everything we know." I hope during the pain and adversity you experienced, though you doubted your chance of survival, you never lost the belief that you will pull through. And now my friend, you have been rewarded for your undying faith in yourself. I sincerely wish you're doing fine now. Have you fully recovered 100%?
Ned Stark standing in the rain, getting gunned down by hit men. Rob Stark leading a raid on some boot leggers, Arya learning the art of bullet and blade. This would be such an amazing Film Nior, someone should do it.
I'm imagining the title sequence done soap opera style to this. Featuring Sean Bean as -Ned Stark- , Richard Madden as -Robb Stark- , Michelle Fairley as -Catelyn Stark- , with Jason Momoa as -Khal Drogo-, etc.
Upier3387 Just be careful that it's not a Red one... Check every guest for chainmail and make everyone leave swords, axes, crossbows and daggers at the entrance.
A Song of Fire and Chill
What is smooth may never die
+ALLIED7621 what is smooth may never jive
ALLIED7621 it is known
But only saxes more and more vibrantly
And in jazz Aeons, even death may die.
I'm kinda hoping that someone makes a montage of Cercei and Jaime Lannister moments, set to this version of the song
***** A Song of Fire and Coooooool :D
***** of Fire and Jizz
A song of Fire and Jizz
That is sooo wrong... why am I laughing so hard?... XD
Lol, dude...
Winter must be coming, because I feel much cooler after listening to this ;)

In a Game of Tones, you jazz or you jive...
In a Game of Tones*
Done!
Well played.
Best!
I read that as in you jazz or you jizz...
a solo on the bass is a rare and beautiful creature.
markog1999 if you've ever heard ypu understand the wonderfulness of a bass solo
markog1999 a solo on the bass is when everyone shuts up so the bassist can keep going on whatever he have been doing the whole song
Y'all might enjoy this then - ruclips.net/video/gKjaFo2Tp5c/видео.html

You've never felt more okay about the inevitability of winter coming...

wth lilypichu is here, how does that even happen haha, loyal sub to both these wonderful channels!
lily...
Now do it on melodica
If Game Of Thrones was noir detective series this would fit perfectly.
I would've watched the show then.
I personally hear this more in a sequel to Cowboy Bebop :D
Spoiler Alert: that dame Daenarys burns down the King's Landing Casino at the end.
Who would Jason Momoa's Khal Drogo be if GoT was a noir detective drama?
I'd say I want these guys to play at my wedding, but, well...
nice.
Please no reminders
What happened? Did one of them die?
+Tula Claxton-Miller Explain
+leondelafonte the red wedding, look it up on youtube
PLEASE do "Rains of Castamere" and "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" with Robyn singing.

Winter may just give way to spring...
This makes me dream of a smooth version of the entire show.

He killed it. The author would be proud.
Why the author and not the creator of the original soundtrack for the TV show!? Huh?
John Smith You know nothing John Smith.
Smoother than Valyrian Steel through a Stark's neck.
...too soon?
it's never too soon to kill a stark.
Dude. The Intarwebz are yours.
LOL
It's been over 15 years, of course it isnt too soon.

Did anyone else notice the drummer messing up at 0:20 but play it off like a fucking boss?
Good observation...u must be a drummer to notice the subtle nuance! i myself play the sax and So I naturally observe Dave play!
I am an amateur drummer (among other things), but i'm also a very observant listener. I just love way he plays it off and smirks at the bassist.
Jose cruz aaaaargh you beat me to it, i was going to say the same thing lol
great minds eh?
Jose cruz Part of being a good musician is to be able to fuck up and make it sound better for it
Other songs they could play:
"Red Wedding Blues"
"A Bastard in the Rain"
"You Still Know Nothing"
"Dornish Dreams"
"Sisters, Brothers"
"The Mother of Three"
"The Night is Dark"
"Not Today"
"A Crown for a King"
Definitely agree with you
Hold the door
"No one" but you babe. Dark noir jazz
Sooo much smooth.... I'm diggin this arrangement.
The night is smooth and full of Jazz

You just proved yourself that you can. You can see&feel, so you can. Like your insight.
be careful with all that edge
This is just fantastic. One of the best covers of any song I can think of; no hyperbole.
I love jazz version of everything
So awesome, flashback to my days in my High School's Jazz Band.
This makes me want to see a 50's remake of Game of Thrones as a noir flick/ series.
That would be so awesome.
I endorse the pants off this.
Katherine Hepburn would play Caitlin Stark
...so basically, a normal noir series.
It's On Like Jon why are we not funding this?!
This song lends itself to Jazz so much.
"No Starks were harmed in the making of this video" :))
Murat SURUCU hahaha : )) best comment!
You can see how much you all love music. Just in your smiles
Who would have thought that the Game of Thrones theme song could ever sound this sexy? Great job, guys! You absolutely smashed it.
This just did something very soothing to my soul
One night, drive to downtown Westeros and visit Robert's Bar Atheon, meet Tyrion of Club Lannister, see The Wall of indy vinyl records, or tell the bartender you'll have the R R Martini. All men must dine!
+Doc Von Doom Sounds like an amazing place!

This would be great as a 50s "mike hammerish" detective story about corrupt politicians, the mob, and starcrossed love. Featuring Tyrion investigating the evil plots of his own family clan.
OMG I thought the same XD , this made the show more like a 'classy politicians thriller'
I love the drama, one of the best HBO drama series. This smooth jazz version of the theme music is exquisite. It's played by the quartet featuring Dave Koz, who is absolutely my most favorite saxophonist. How sweet this is!
This sounds like nobody in the show is going to die. How comforting to listen.
How I did not noticed at 1st it was dave koz at the sax. His tone is so recognisable
Allan Mednard = The Drum Slayer
Dave Koz never ceases to impress me. Fantastic quartet!
This was... amazing. Truly amazing. I cannot believe how well this arrangement works and I never thought I'd hear anything like it, but I'm so glad you guys made this. I've yet to hear anything on your channel I didn't immediately love and this continues the trend. Excellent work.
Awesome, I can't stop singing it in me head.
Someone said the music is the food of our souls, and this version is feeding us with well played music. Thanks for let us hear you boys!
I love you guys. Dave Koz you rock like no other. Scott Bradlee magnificent keyboard work, hell you're all fantastic.
This video was a prospective subscriber's wet dream. Sploosh! Subscribed.
I'm in love with this band!!! Wonderful!!!
There was something very Brubeck about this arrangement. Love it.
The saxophone player was really putting his all into it, and I really admire that. Very good.
that drummer holy shit that drummer
+Manuel Dengis Yeah, Questlove did a great job with this!
Snarethedrummer I think that's allan mednard according to the description
These guys know music. I love every song they remake
Dat drummer is just mad, MAD I TELL YA!
I know right? Questlove, eat your heart out.
The only thing that'd make him madder is if he said "burn em' all, baby"
Stunning. Wonderful solo spots.
I imagine this being the theme to an alternate universe version of Game of Thrones, where the houses are represented by members of the Rat Pack.
Awesome job as always.

Ned Stark standing in the rain,
getting gunned down by hit men.
Rob Stark leading a raid on some boot leggers,
Arya learning the art of bullet and blade.
This would be such an amazing Film Nior, someone should do it.
I get a strong vibe of the first version of golden brown in it ! So cool !
This is awesome, but watch out if these guys start playing The Rains of Castamere!
Very smooth indeed! I could listen to this for hours!
If GoT got the Midnight timeslot.
What do we say to the God of Sleep? Not Today.
Therefore, you wuld understand why it's called _The Night Watch_... smoooth
With each video I'm clicking on I'm falling in love. I would love for this to start playing randomly at my wedding.
This is smoother than the effects of Exlax.
that sounded better in my head
the bassline tho.. it's amazing. i listen to this all the time
i want this with Ron Swanson playin that smooth jazzzzzzzzzzzzz!
son, I thinking you're mistaking said Ron Swanson for the legendary Duke Silver

Dave Koz is awesome!!!! Incredible The best I have seem!
This is GREAT!
If you ever have a chance to see Scott Bradlee and Postmodern Jukebox in person, I'd do it. Really great show.
Oh gosh I would love that, Sunnie!
That was simply awesome.

Бях много приятно изненадана, този аранжимент е супер.Достави ми голямо удоволствие.
GOT theme + PostModern Jukebox = the best study music 😂😂 Great job!
Always listening to this when I'm depressed and it helps me feel better.
I'm imagining the title sequence done soap opera style to this.
Featuring Sean Bean as -Ned Stark- , Richard Madden as -Robb Stark- , Michelle Fairley as -Catelyn Stark- , with Jason Momoa as -Khal Drogo-, etc.
I've jammed with Dave before. He's ridiculously talented.
I want this song in my wedding!!!
Upier3387 Just be careful that it's not a Red one... Check every guest for chainmail and make everyone leave swords, axes, crossbows and daggers at the entrance.
I would't really want anything from Game Of Thrones in my wedding
+sugoruyo or purple ones... check your cups ladies and gents.
+Sebastian Luengo not even the pigeon cake ?
Sensational.....splendid,...version !!
I expect if Peter Dinklage was hosting a cast party, this would be playing in the background.
I had a similar thought... a cast dinner party and this is in the background. 😂
I purchased this off of iTunes within 30 seconds of the video starting. Kudos!
This is the kind of band I would love to have in my wedding.
This should have been used in the series finale into. IMO 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I do love me some Dave Koz 💝💝💝💝
Love Dave Koz!
this is what i hear every time i see John Snow
Used this as my wedding recessional song. Everyone loved it.
Haha, this is great! Could they sub this in for the actual theme for just ONE episode? I would probably laugh myself to death!
Koz seems like he's so much more awesome than I remember his music 20 years ago, etc. I'm going to have to buy more of his music!
Fuckin rocks! Come to italy! Bologna to be precise
+Vega Punk We are coming to Italy! And it's gonna rock! Get tix now! postmodernjukebox.com/events/
Good news!
Please, come to Brazil!
Vega Punk non c'è più vino
Sa anche a me alex
love it, purchased. Scott, you guys blow me away. Great mind and creativity.
This brings to mind the image of a man wearing a pinstripe suit and a trilby. Covered in blood and wielding a broadsword.
Good show, chaps.
