I loved this episode, so tranquil 😊. The landscape covered in snow is stunning, accompanied by music which is beautiful. Although I like sheeps I agree with you Ken, wouldn't like to come back as a sheep, rather as a little cat cosied up in a warm place. Thank you so much for sharing, stay safe 🙏

I choose not to drive In them. But, I have to say that you have the perseverance of a marine. I would have stayed put. Have a great week!
Hello Ken / Carol Well that was a big change in the landscape scene a lot of snow in a short time I am sure the snowplough was a welcome sight, as always love the drone footage snow always looks so pretty . Thanks for the video take care .
Lovely snowy scenery. Still loads on the road. Such a glorious blue sky for the drone too. With you on the weather apps Ken. They’re always bloomin’ wrong. Creative ways with Lasagne. 🤣 good effort! Might try that tip. 😊🧙♂️

Looks like you experienced a beautiful northern summer 😉 Superb drone footage, we love the snow! You’ll have to treat the van to some winter rubber next summer 👍🏼
We stayed just above Dunsop bridge in the snow at the end of November. It was stunning. The village had a power cut, like a lot of places at the time following the storms. We then visited Booths too, the carpark was sheet ice. Nothing like a good adventure 🙄
The trip up the hill turned out really well. A lovely winter scene with the drone footage made this highly enjoyable and made up for the cold dreary rain earlier. A good meal and cosy night to finish too, it paid off for you in the end.

Hi Carol, the thought that the name Charing cross came from Cher Reine, but it comes from the French word cerring, meaning bend and refers to the bend in the river Thames. The cross was one of 12 built to commemorate the places Eleanor's funeral stopped on the journey from Nottingham to Westmunster Abbey. only three remain, two in Northamptonshire, and one at Waltham Cross, the one at Charing Cross being demolished by the Puritans. Love the channel you guys 👍
Thank you for a very interesting and slightly nerve-racking video! I was a paramedic for years and still drive with my training in mind (I wish everyone else did, too 😮). I’m catching up with all your videos which is a lovely way to spend a lazy Sunday. We’ve swapped our large gin-palace of a motorhome for a small caravan because of the parking restrictions popping up everywhere - we found it difficult to park anywhere sensible. We go to the same places you like so we plumped for a caravan, especially as we have 2 dogs, but I think we might find it difficult being sort of ‘anchored’ - we’ll have to see. (I watched the video where you just picked up the new van so I’m looking forward to seeing how you get on with the larger vehicle and all that room to dance! 😂) Happy, safe travels. Beth x
I’m so glad we are done with snow for the season. Now on to daffodils, tulips, and lovely spring trips across your beautiful country. Thanks for the adventure, it was enjoyable. Mary.
Lovely. Just watched whilst doing the mundane 'after work' routine - wash up, get the tea on and sort lunches for tomorrow etc etc. Made my chores so very much more pleasant ❤️
Well rule of thumb up here in Scotland states when clocks go back, then its time to fit winter tyres and keep them rolling till Spring. That is in effect 6 months on good treads and then come end of March change back to less effective treads. You should have known that Ken tut tut !!
I used to do that but these dam 14” van wheels have no winter options. I am stunned as they are widely used to deliver goods. The only way around it is to fit bigger wheels.
Can’t believe how much snow you had …. The snow drive was stunning and the red camper stood out in the sun. Always a challenge on the parking debate to stay or not to stay …. But it needs to be right. Great video the music and the videography went together well and caught some great sequences esp the snow plough
Made me homesick your drone footage🥹I currently live in Western Australia and wished I was back home watching this🏔Thank you for another brilliant video Ken and Carol❤️💙❤️💙
For checking the elevation of the landscape on route there is a function in Google maps that I use in the app on my phone: where you can change the layer from default to satellite there should be an option for "Terrain". When zooming out a bit it shows the relief, the hills and gorges etc. I find that very useful when I'm on a roadtrip. Not sure if that Terrain layer is available on PC etc, but it is on my android phone app.
What beautiful scenery and as for that drone footage... Wow! Bernie says you should have a chef's blow torch like his, would have browned that Lasagne beautifully. 🔥👍😊🚙🐕
I had all season tyres fitted to my last car and never saw any snow, but only summer tyres on my campervan. Now as the new campervan will be my only vehicle I'm tempted to fit all season tyres to it. I can't justify summer and winter tyres as I don't do a particularly high mileage, nor do I have anywhere to store the spare ones. Been away on trips from March and will probably finish camping by the middle of November, we find 2 weeks or so enough before the lure of home comforts gets to us.
We are trying to source all season tyres for next winter. We had winter tyres for a tow car we used to have but it was a pain getting them swapped over when the season changed and as you say you have to store them somewhere. Enjoy your travels 🙂

Loved the footage in the snow. I grew up and learned to drive in Scotland and what I usually do with a new vehicle in the winter is to find an open area and see what it feels like when it goes into a slide so that the first time I do it isn't in anger. Sadly didn't get the chance with our NV200 this winter. There was plenty of snow on the hills in Scotland when I was in the highlands in February but none on the roads. I guess I will have to wait until next winter. Brave effort with the lasagne by the way!

I drove the whole State of Utah for my job. I had to drive anywhere in any weather, but I learned it was better to hold off an hour or so to let the plow trucks do their thing rather than push on through the snow. I did have the advantage of a CB and a State of Utah radio and police & Fire, trucker scanner so I could monitor the road conditions. This was before weather Apps. My van had all-wheel drive, but a lot of the other motorists only have front-wheel drive and you do have to stop.
couple of questions.. I love your music choices... how do you deal with copy right issues? Also I just got at drone for my start up channel... any channel you would suggest I check out on how to use it in my future content?
All of the music is licensed from a company called Artlist. We do get copyright claims which we have to appeal via RUclips. So far we have won all of them but it can take some time.
Hi love watching Yr channel. Drone footage at national Trust sites, are fascinating, I'm thinking of joining, so question is, do I need to ask permission or have an insurance in place
National Trust will not allow you to fly from their land. They do not control the sky though so I tend to fly from just outside their property. A membership makes no difference. You can ask for permission but I have never done that as nothing is planned in advance.
Hari OM Great adaptation on the prepared meals, Carol! There is no doubt that travelling in snow is not the best - but, golly, doesn't it make the place so pretty?! YAM xx
Better than the terrain feature is the transport mode, Carol and Ken. You can do your driving using the car mode, but for a sneak preview of elevation, use the cycling symbol instead of the vehicle symbol. Key your destination, press Directions and press bicycle, not car. Understandably, this feature is a must for cyclists, for cardiac arrest trigger points. Now, to continue with your video ...... 🦘
Absolutely beautiful scenery in this video❤
