    If Ukraine troops have to flee from Adiivka, they can't continue shell the Doneskt region because of the far distance (except HIMARS, but Russia now have KN-09 shell from North Korean with the effective range up to 80 kilometres).
    Then Doneskt can become a safe firebase, logistic base for the assault campaign of Russia.
    In Krynky, I don't think Ukraine troops can hold the line here, because of the bombardment from Russia and extreme weather (A report said that some Ukraine troops surrendered has got cold burns, it means they have to fight in cold weather with summer uniform, and as you understand, no logistic, no victory)

    • @nick4819
      @nick4819 6 месяцев назад +1

      A Ukrainian soldier likely did have cold burns, but it wasn't because he was stuck wearing a summer uniform. They just had a massive blizzard smash through the area. It was cold and 100+mph winds. Even in winter uniforms, you would get too cold. Russia had MLRS that could reach 80km's before. The problem with Russian MLRS and North Korean KN-09 is that they are just dumb rockets. Sure, they have range. But they would have to launch 10,000 of them to take out a certain target. They don't really shell Donetsk city anyway. There's a reason that city is still overwhelmingly intact. Ukrainians aren't trying to level a populated city unlike Russia's goals. How many cities has Russia wiped from the map with indiscriminate shelling of populated areas? What really insane to me is that Russians continue to willingly line up and die for NOTHING. I mean, it's no wonder the word "slave" came from "slavic" people.

    The value of Adiivka has more to do with fortified city stocked with food, ammunition, equipment, fuel and well trained soldiers. It has the potential to be used as a staging point for a Ukrainian strategic attack/strike. Russia needed to remove this threat before it could continue. The two questions for Ukraine are, firstly can Ukraine sustain the loss of this men and equipment. Secondly will the asov brigade be allowed to be a victim to Adiivka also.

    KIEV'S WAR CRIMES
    "Canadian journalist accused Kiev of genocide of Donbass residents
    The Ukrainian leadership is committing genocide against the residents of Donbass, so representatives of the Kiev authorities should be held accountable for war crimes. This was announced on Saturday, December 17, by Canadian journalist Eva Bartlett, who is currently on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic.
    "My colleagues and I are documenting Ukraine's crimes against the civilians of Donbass in order to bring Ukraine to justice for these numerous war crimes in an ideal situation," Bartlett said.
    She also expressed hope that she and like-minded people will be able to change the discourse so that the decisions of the Ukrainian government "are not whitewashed."
    The journalist admitted that more than once she witnessed the shelling of Donetsk, where civilians were killed. In addition, she noted that since the beginning of the special military operation on the territory of Donbass, more than 4.5 thousand civilians have been killed, reports [Russian news agency] tass.
    Prior to that, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, reported on the mass repressions of the Ukrainian military against the civilian population, which are carried out on the right bank of the Dnieper.
    According to the diplomat, the representative of the Ukrainian authorities, Galina Lugovaya, "warned in advance" that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would "shoot traitors like dogs."

    Omitted the main reason, where for some of the forces involved it is vital that Avdiivka be taken at all costs. Those forces are made up of people from Donetsk town and surrounding areas, who have been resisting the Ukrainian forces for over 9 years. Avdiivka has served as a platform from which Ukrainian forces have launched artillery and rocket barrages, including himars cluster munition, on the civilians of Donetsk town and residential areas over the last nine years with almost daily bombardment killing or injuring people there and this is known as Donetsk Roulette, as residents of town do not know who will not be able to get through the day unscathed. An Australian on CafeRevolution his yt channel is showing this vividly. Also, it appears, a source of water supply to town of Donetsk will be unblocked.
