An unhinged comment I have nowhere else to post: I feel like the format changes halfway through season 1 were great and some of these changes this week have been an overcorrection. Weirdly, some of my favourite parts were the old talk show segment - tiny couch/hostile or left field question/sudden appearance of the coffee - the extreme zoom to kick things off, the pun game names, the elimination speech in the style of... and the final showdown, which gave a feeling of a real end. Love the quick and dirty intro of contestants now and was surprised that the "physical" game wasn't dropped as that seemed most often to be an awkward section. Still, Taylor is shining so the rest can be figured out.
If feel like this show is a fun attempt (and very entertaining one) to mush together a bunch of old shows formats, like game show, late night talk show and improv. Its all over the place, and that adds a second level of fun. I love the chaos, and the fact that you can tell a bunch of stuffy white dudes in "corporate "are trying to wrangle it into a box it won't fit in.
@@tyson31415 I hope this season's changes are attempts to wrangle it into a box and not the creative team's choices. It's not so egregious that I'll stop watching but I felt like the old format was loose enough that I would usually be crying laughing at least once an episode.
Love Taylor's season two monologues! Also so happy for the early release. Will I still be awake later? Probably but that still doesn't change my excitement
2:33 "Why is he looking at his hands like that? He was just put together, and he already has existential dread?" Rick and Morty did this experiment first. "What is my purpose?" "Pass the butter." (Passes the butter, then) "What is my purpose?" "You pass butter." (Looks at own hands) "Oh my god..."
The fact that we've had decades of movies about how we shouldn't have robots in our houses and now theyre making robots for our houses is wild but not surprising
Listen i absolutely love this show , Taylor is great and i love the guest's, i look forward to watching every weeknight 🎉 i am watching right now , finally something good on late night tv.
I love that Taylor Tomlinson just resolved one of the great questions of the universe: is it 'orangutan' which is how it's spelled or 'orangutanG' which is how I've always pronounced it so that's the answer don't judge me.
Orangutans are utterly amazing. I’ve watched long, long RUclipss on orangutans and they’re very smart-they absolutely should not be in prisons known as zoos.
Hey After Midnight?! It's 12:20 am here in Hawaii. Why isn't this episode available on Paramount+ yet? Last season, that evening's episode was available to stream same day. I love the show.
Why stop with just adding a G to orangutan? That seems pretty conservative. Let’s go the full mile and call them ‘Orangutangasaurus Rex.’ If you’re gonna do it wrong, at least make it interesting.
@@yocean14 Chimps are incredibly strong, and proven to sometimes be vicious. I know orangutans are bigger but they are peaceful creatures. I'm not sure about their strength though. There are stories of chimps disfiguring humans, like that one woman whose face was torn off. I'm not aware of any instances of orangutans doing that. I assume that's what you were thinking of in your original post.
An old Australian friend of mine used to say "orange utan" ... I don't know if that's how they all say it down there or if he was just messed up. Actually, he was pretty messed up. He was Australian after all.
2:48 - "Speaking of almost human..." Dang it, I thought she was gonna bring up the amazing-but-canceled show "Almost Human," from 2013. Legitimately still bummed that didn't get picked up for more seasons. :/
@AfterMidnightCBS Of course the android was staring at "his" hands. Did you see how big the thumbs were? If it were a girl android she'd likely not leave the house.
The orangutan is a girl. Her name is Amber and loves to look in purses, backpacks and pockets. She lives at the #louisvillezoo. In Kentucky. She is very smart.
I can no longer tell which is the ape and which is the human. The orangutan seems to have basically the same vocabulary and language skill as the average zoomer, but is perhaps less easily triggered by external stimuli to fly into a blind panic. Advantage: Darwin.
I'mma go out on a limb and say that the robot in the ad is actually just a person in a suit. The arms, legs, and body shape seem way too smooth and human proportioned. Googling it I couldn't find any images or video of the specific model without it's faceplate or clothing. And the videos I saw that showed the hand design looked like CGI demos, not actual footage. Idk. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong. It just seems too conveniently perfect to me. like something from a movie.
I enjoy Taylor and all the talent on the show BUT it feels like you are are straying TOO FAR from the original concept. You might as well make it a talk show the way it is going. A REAL couch conversation? The little couch gag was much better. I enjoy Taylor but this new direction? Not so much. Just my two cents worth.

I like that the monologue occurs in a planetarium now
that's because it's out of this world 🌠
@@AfterMidnightCBS Stellar 😆💫

I love the one audience member saying "oh no" as soon as the robot moves
Omg these lil Taylor monologues are such a gift.
Lol @ the person in a tight suit trying to pass as a robot 😂
I’m pretty sure the 2nd outfit for that robot was stolen off of Flula Borg 😂😂
He is great on the show isn't he
Not really stolen, more sort of assimilated. Added to the collective.

That robot is giving me NIGHTMARES right now 😱😱
Opossums are North Americans, possums are in Australasia region, they are related species
Thank the Tang commercials back in the day for the mispronounciation of Orangutan
It's pronounced oh-rung ooh-tun... It's from Indonesian language that means forrest/jungle man.
Gotta appreciate the UC Santa Cruz girl mimicking the orangutan.

Taylor needs to see those videos of monkeys being shown close-up magic. They get so dang excited! 😂💜
If that ad had been made by a video game company, the robot would turn out to be an actor in a suit
I need these to be posted faster so I can watch before my kid gets up 😂
5:35 Tang the powder drink was made orange and named tang because of orangutan's.
That is why that pronunciation is popular in the US, but it's wrong.
Remember the old Tang ads with orangutans???
The Orangutan got set up with real life Pintrest
The more I watch of Taylor, the more enamored I become. She is evolving, becoming increasingly more appealing. Amazing person and performer!

She didn't 'resolve' anything, the only pronunciation is without the final g and the audience are just wrong lol
Agreed, I say the G. I kinda wanna look up a map of regional pronunciations for it. A childhood of nature documentaries did NOT prepare me for this
I think a lot of Americans base their pronunciation of it off of the Tang commercials from the 90s.
She's wrong, it's orang-utan with no G.
Orangutans are utterly amazing. I’ve watched long, long RUclipss on orangutans and they’re very smart-they absolutely should not be in prisons known as zoos.
😂😂 he's invented his version of RUclips
Unfortunately the prisons might soon be the only places they exist
If you show them a baby they always love them - it's so cute and sad. Zoos ARE sad!
It's finally here! The T-0.001.
It's a Cylon.
that Neo robot made me think of that book "Annie Bot" and im upset and scared lol
Happy season 2. Love ya, Taylor. Not in the creepy way.
PLEASE DO HOTONES!
Orangutan comes from the bahasa words for person and forest and is pronounced or-ang-u-tan. Btw people who say orangu-tang are orang putih ;)
Well more like orang inggris... I'm as putih as they get and I'm pretty sure I've *never* heard "utang" IRL.
I mean in Bahasa Indonesia "orang utang" literally translates to "someone who owes money"
Love the introvert joke. 😀
Their flag is a big plus
Only flag is all red..
New show looks great. Big fan - only understand what the Gen X competitors say, but Taylor is hilarious so I am willing to be situationally oblivious
Rocking that outfit!
Orang-UTAN
1:25, 😆
Neo looks like Guy-Manuel from Daft Punk. Works for me!!
That's Issac from the Orville!
fantastic!
If Mr. Robot can’t pull his own weight, it’s a problem.
I think a helper monkey bot would be great sure as hell not as nightmare fuel as that thing they showed.
If they tried to make them have human faces as well they would quickly fall into uncanny valley
It should definitely be "-tan" not "-tang". The entire audience is delusional.
Mad that it even got asked
Why does the robot look like a black and white Deadpool
Hey After Midnight?! It's 12:20 am here in Hawaii. Why isn't this episode available on Paramount+ yet? Last season, that evening's episode was available to stream same day. I love the show.
At age 73 I won't be around long enough for when such robots are commonplace: the future is going to be SO weird.

Slender Man 😂
Cyber life is looking more real every day now 😂 just hope they don't name one Conor or Marcus
Zoos ARRE sad, Taylor
That robot isn’t a person in a wetsuit and fencing mask?
Orangutan can rip your arms off your torso, iirc
you're thinking of chimpanzees
@@yeeaahBUDDY I mean, sure. But also, if Chimps can then wouldn’t it stand to reason Orangutan can as well? They are bigger

like something from a movie.
my thoughts exactly
A severely underfed person then, because the arms were way too skinny.
That "robot" is definitely just a guy in a suit
If you pronounce it "orangutang", you must also spell it "orangutang" so that everyone can correct you.
Men finally figured out how to effectively communicate with women... by building a robot.
Possums are adorable.
Opposums are hissing teeth w/ fur.
Neither do I want in my trashcan.
I miss the introductions.
I've seen this robot movie. I'm out
PLEASE continue to post the monologues this way. I don´t like the show to much, but the monologues are really great!
It's kind of telling that robots for women are helpful utility bots that do things around the home, while robots for men are sex toys.
Zoos are sad. 😿
Hmm, just make the show an hour long now then please I guess... yeah
fuck no on that robot. stop making them look like people
Zoos are sad in that they’re a reminder that humans have messed up their natural habitat so much that the zoo is actually the better alternative.
Pretty sure that "robot" is just a guy in a costume
Afraid?
I love the intro persons voice but the change in just naming the players and mentioning where it's filmed is absolute dog shit
This white girl funny as hell
Since y'all Americans feel pronunciation is important. It's Orang Utan not orange youthang. Orang means people Utan means jungle.
