I used to think that Taylor had tons of prepared material for interviews like this because she always seemed to have a funny response ready to go. But then the jokes just kept coming and I realized, wait a second, she is just that quick. Either she has a massive rolodex of jokes for every possible situation or her brain writes jokes like ChatGPT. Either way, I'm looking forward to her show!
FYI ChatGPT writes terrible jokes, so that's not really the compliment you think it is.
Conan's rarely wrong when he backs a comedian!
You should check the videos of her live shows where she interacts with the audience. She is so witty and quick!

While her Netflix shows contained jokes that she’s polished on the tour, and are very funny, there are a lot of clips on the Internet of her interacting with the audience that are excellent.
Her crowd work is magical!
I saw her live and that was the funniest part of her show, and the whole show was really funny.
Just go now find the youtube clip called "dating twin sisters" and you will understand how good she is with on-the-fly interactions
Even in this short interview she reacts to Stephen with a wit and comedic instinct that shows it's not just preparation. She is precisely the type of comedian that can carry a live interview show.

I watched all her Netflix specials and she is fanrastic...Her comedy flows flawlessly and her interaction with the public is brilliant.... I am happy for her new late night show and will definitely watch her shine night after night.....

Her best did is still with conan. Whether he's doing the heavy lifting or not, those were brilliant, the one in particular
The show seems like it's modeled on some BBC game shows, but to me, lacks variety and spontaneity. Maybe they'll shake up the format at some point. She deserves the best.
Legitimately the funniest comic I've seen in a decade. Absolutely killing it.
My favorites timeline:
Carlin, Kinison, Rock, Burr, now Taylor.
She's one of the funniest comedians I've ever watched. I feel lucky to be close enough to her age that I can really relate to many of her jokes. Absolutely phenomenal.
For the record, I am 65 and find her to be one of the funniest women comics in the world. I would go further and say she is one of the quickest minds in comedy. She is Robin Williams with breasts. Just as with all the best comedians, she seems to live for hecklers. The best ones look, scan the audience, for hecklers. That gives them a vehicle to keep the rest of the crowd entertained. She is literally that quick. I have no problem putting her in the same category as Robin, at least as a comedian. I don't know what kind of actor she is, as I can't recall her being in anything, but I would wager she could aquit herself just fine in a film.
I like it when two genuinely funny people are funny together like this.

I came into this expecting a few giggles, but what I did not expect was to spray my mouthful of tea everywhere at "I know it sounds silly but it's REAL!!!" Even Stephen laughed for real at that one. The unexpected laughs are the best ones.
Her video with Conan about American girl dolls is one of my favorites, highly recommend
Their Conan needs a friend podcast episode is also great, one of my favorites.
They have such a good rapartee. I can see Stephen seeing himself in her. And her in awe but still clear-headed. I hope they have many more. Cannot wait for Tomlinson's show!!!

I think he has become her mentor, which is great. She opened for Conan too, and he is impressed with her as well.

She's extremely talented! Earlier in her career she was already given a spotlight by Conan so she's got letters of recommendation from at least two of the titans of modern late night. Her standup is very dynamic, well-paced and clever, she used to do some really great crowd work as well, I think she'll knock it out of the park
Stephen is a devout Christian. Him saying “There’s no forgiveness in Christian comedy” was revelatory!
I have the impression the church is very forgiving for priests abusing children, but not so much for others.

I've only seen (and really enjoyed) her stand up, but good stand ups have so many transferable skills that moving into hosting, acting, or other disciplines usually pays dividends. And with her self-deprecating humour I'm very much looking forward to seeing what she does.
But just in case the TV companies have forgotten, it's not "1 in, 1 out" so you're allowed to bring back Sam Bee and Amber Ruffin. 😉
Self-deprecating humour is not usually respected in the US, but Tomlinson seems to have found a way to make it work. I think it's because she makes it very relatable.

Stephen's advice about the professionally attractive people is so true. But I've interviewed a lot of actors in my industry and the thing that you're never prepared for are the celebs who are actually more good-looking in real life, to the point that they don't even seen human. It takes your brain a little while to catch up to the questions your mouth is asking because it shorts out for a second just trying to get your head around their face.
She’s a great conversationalist and has the right mix of self deprecating and engaging.
Tailor's "talking to my parents' important church friends" laugh at the end there was very on point.

I'm about twice her age and she's still relatable.
I'm a lot older and I love to laugh at Millenials... er, laugh at stuff about Millenials.😊
But really, being aware of what's going on in society means being aware of the attitudes of the various generations - although it's true a lot of people are obtuse about it.

I discovered her through some youtube shorts, and she's ALWAYS hilarious. I'm glad she's gaining more recognition and hope to see her go really far, because she's definitely one of the funniest comedians out there.
A big part of Taylor's act is about how she's "the plain one" or not "gorgeous." I hope she is just using those memes as joke material because I believe, have ALWAYS believed, that she is one of the best looking comedians out there. AND one of the funniest. Might as well say it ... she's perfect.

Oh, I have something to say and it's not what people would think it is reading certain words in this comment. I happen to be a Christian, proud of it even. I LOVE Taylor! And I'm not proud of churches themselves... and this is linked to why.
As my Christian self, I find that 'wild animal' joke HILARIOUS! It's SOOOO funny. And AWESOME. (Not surprising though, anyone who's seen Tomlinson's stuff knows this lady's writing is NEXT LEVEL GOOD).
In the majority of religions, but especially Christianity, it's important that God is the only one who 'has you', rather than just 'you have', otherwise you're dealing with a 'golden calf', which is just religion-slang for an 'idol/addiction/something you care about too much'. What goes on a lot in church congregations though, which a. has led me to not be happy with them, and b. led to Taylor getting fired was rather than just individuals 'having' their personal joke/humor taste - which is perfectly FINE, no problem with that, totally respect it; despite the fact that religions believe God invented sex, you can be as prudish as you like... (I'm obviously not prudish coz like I said, I think the joke's hysterical and is very telling once again of just how talented this woman is)... But yes, churches and religious organizations are in an ironically idolatrous, and therefore 'sinful' state of their joke/humor tastes 'having them'.
Don't worry about the opinions of small-minded people, Taylor, when they matter little you keep doing you and being as honest, refreshing and powerful as you are!
This girl is funnier than every other late night host. Watch out fellas!
