When I was Master she had a 6- 110 GM the less powerful V8-71 came later. I was in her for 2 years 1978-1980 ~ Yeah a good tug. good to see her still going Tom Hughes
The denser the air going into an engine the better the volumetric efficiency will be,,,,,, and that is cold air, the colder the better and certainly not warm air. That is the reasons some engines have intercoolers on them.

It's supercharged, the later 71's I think were turbo charged
