    A few things in the Ckyepod, it's spelled that way because it was invented by Ckye Thomas for competition use. Second detail is that you don't need to depress the button to extend the legs, only collapse them. It was one of the key features that made that bipod such a success was that you could just yank the legs into full extension without touching any buttons.
    Otherwise always awesome to hear your perspective on gear like this! (Edit: spelling)

    Nice comparison. Timely for me, because I'm considering the Warne vs the Accu Tac.
    The Warne adjustment scheme seems a bit niftier because you can pull it out or lower it one notch at a time. On the other hand, its adjustment range is small, but the leg extensions are short enough (3") that one could stack multiple sets to get whatever desired height.

    Great video! Again! One point - I'd like to see how extending the feet affect the actual height of the unit. Measuring the legs doesn't tell the whole story due to the angle of the legs. It looks, to me, that the only negatve to the Accu-tac is the same as one of its biggest attributes - the wide legs - they give great stability but reduce height travel. Keep 'em coming.

    I suspect the Ckye Pod has a lot of play to make adjusting it from behind the gun a little easier especially considering this is the PRS version and those guys may have to make fast adjustments as they go from obstacle to obstacle. I've seen stages where the shooter will have one leg perfectly horizontal propped up against the obstacle while the other leg is down in the usual orientation. Definitely a lot more flexibility in setup than the others and why it's so popular even at it's ridiculous price point.

    In my opinion shooting off a bench the ckyepod is the worst, but in a tactical environment its hands down the best. It will by far give you the most adjustment.
    The ckyepod can do anything the other's can do but the others cant do what the ckyepod can do with adjustments in the field not a flat range.

      Trey, first thanks for watching. Your observations are fair but just know that I don’t come to the conclusions I present in the video while I’m shooting the video. I do a lot of testing and evaluating prior to shooting the video. The video ends up simply being an illustration of conclusions/opinions I’ve come to while focusing on the test portions. During the video I admittedly am more focused on communicating, keeping my train of thought, and hitting the points I want to hit so I don’t always “demo” as well as I should as all my limited processing power 🧠 is spent on talking. But... it’s a fair critique that I appreciate and I will work on.
      I apologize on being out of stock... it’s a weird time for shipping and supply in general but especially gun parts. We’re doing our best and have multiple orders in to our suppliers that we are waiting on. They’re doing their best too and trust me, no one is more frustrated than I given I’ve estimated we are losing at least 15-20 orders a day due to lack of supply. We do have shipments on the way though and if you’d like something specifically, email us at services@paramounttactical.com. Let us know what you’d like and that you’d like to be added to a wait list and we’ll prioritize you once supplies arrive.
      I look forward to seeing your thoughtful comments regularly. Thanks, Gary

    One thing you didn't mention on the Warne Skyline, you can lock it to have no pan with tightening a screw in the ball portion by taking the 2 halves apart like switching to the Arca mount from Warne. This may have been locked on yours since you didn't have pan. With it not locked it is like Atlas. Warne is what I went for similar reasons. The quick height adjustment while behind it was the primary reason.

Hands down the most versatile one in the group, especially when you get into the double pull. (I do agree it's overpriced but still the best)

    At least you gave of an opinion on what you like, however, as I commented to another reviewer: "We appreciate the videos, however, I have yet to find a video that compares the several brands of bipods placed on the same rifle, and then showing the target grouping for each one. Talk is cheap, and there is only so many details on how good this one is compared to that one that is useful, and so on, but then never showing actual shooting results. So there, I double dog dare you!" SHOW US THE GROUPINGS PLEASE.

    • @paramounttactical
      @paramounttactical  2 года назад

      This is a silly comment. There’s a reason why you haven’t seen this. Because anybody that understands the point of this video would know what you propose doesn’t prove anything. There are basic features that determine how good a bipod is and simply shooting groups doesn’t test any of it. That’s a one dimensional task for a device designed for multiple performance points. Are you shooting these groups using slow aimed fire or multiple targets? We’re talking about bipods that have to be able do multiple things well under real world conditions. I can shoot slow aimed fire at a single target for groups and that does nothing to show the rigidity and the bipod’s ability to reduce recoil during rapid fire/follow up shots. What about tracking moving targets? What about transitioning to multiple targets with lateral and range differences… what you’re asking for only pertains to bench rests not bipods. Talk is cheap and people jump on YT and do a lot of it about things they know very little about. In this case it’s just happening in the comments. Have a good day. -Gary

    I've had the atlas, accu-tac and warne. They are all good bipods but not one of them are as good in the field as the modular evolution bipod in my opinion. It has a great clamping system much like the atlas, removable legs to go longer or shorter all of which have extensions, solid as a rock, and still weighs under 16oz. The Ckye-Pod in my opinion is garbage. I've never owned one or used one but for that price they need to get their $&@! together. Great review by the way - very detailed and much appreciated.

  • @danielv7964
    @danielv7964 3 года назад

    What atlas bipod is in your comparison? There are so many models.

    • @paramounttactical
      @paramounttactical  3 года назад

      Their flagship model the V8, but it really doesn’t matter because the inherent flaw in atlas bipods is the leg construction which is the same across all models. All of their bipods flex when you load them which will cause a rebound effect during the recoil pulse. That characteristic pulls the shooter off target resulting in the shooter not being able or reducing the ability to spot own impact or trace as well as much slower follow up shots. This effect is hard to notice (or shooters don’t know why their coming off target so much or just thinks that’s normal) unless you shoot the same course of fire with atlas and then a stiffer bipod like the AccuTac back to back with the same or similar rifles. Once you so that, the difference you notice in your sight picture will be quite profound. Thanks for watching. -Gary

      That’s a ridiculous and cherry picked statement. I didn’t judge anything based on the mount. I barely mention the mount based on the model that I had on hand. I assume I am not talking to complete idiots and assume people know the ckye pods can be had in other mount options. It’s implied and I in no way demerited the bipod based on the mount. To say so is ridiculous and you need to either learn to listen better or work on your comprehension skills. I judged the Ckye pod based on its poor craftsmanship, ridiculously loose tolerances and the fact it’s $200 more but does less than some of the other options. Regardless of mount it’s overpriced and underperforms. As a former Special Operations sniper, I can tell you that no military unit would ever buy it due to the fact it wouldn’t pass the cost justification process and it rattles and makes so much noise.
