@@pkdude5334 understood, but how many times do you try the cheap one only to have it break a few months down the road? At some point that gets expensive and exhausting and you realize you should have just spent the money on the nice product in the first place.
@@PrecisionRifleNetwork agreed. There's a lot of junk out there that really isn't worth buying unless someone is dead broke, but even then, better off just saving and waiting.
Bought my Atlas bipods before the Ckye-pods existed. My workaround for the extra height adjustment is to keep the legs extended and tilted forward. Need more height tilt them back a notch. Need less, just pull the leg in. Never found it really tough or awkward to manage. That said, I would really like to have a Ckye-pod. As I see it, slightly different horses for different courses and both are exceptional products.
Ckye pod is clearly the more adjustable one and versatile option but its just so expensive like the triple pull is 1000$ but the advantage it gives you is incredible
Great comparison! I own the PSR and a CAL. They are my go to bipod for hunting because they're lightweight. My PRS bipod of choice is an Accu-tac PC-4 bipod but this one has an ARCA clamp. I needed more weight up front which the Accu-tac is heavier and it's legs expand with a pull and retract with a pinch. Faster than the Cyke.
Good video, but I can buy another gun for the price of that Ckye-Pod. I have 4 Atlas Bipods and they're made where I live so I'll stick with them...they're excellent.
In process of building another PRS rifle. (gas gun again. this time a AR system in 6mm ARC) I have a couple of Harris bipods laying around and it's not that I'm unhappy with them I just feel I need to upgrade. I think I found that upgrade with the ckye-pod.
Ckye pod is pricy but once ordered it was very happy with it, growing up Harris was all i could get my hands on. So happy take the chance pay more the mdt bipod.
Ok I’m gonna ask, why can’t you just pull down on the collar on the Atlas, and extend the leg at the same time. As in, why are you pulling it and holding it down, then extending the leg while holding the collar? Trying to understand the mechanics, not start conflict.
fancy new moving camera! ;) Maybe limit the movement by 25% to add extra depth to scene changes.. ;) I like the "stop here and take a good look, 20 secs or so" strategy best.
I have learned the quality item will last you not only years but decades. I have some of the quality items I bought in the late 90's still working like new. At the time it seemed like an expensive splurge but looking back it was a good investment. Piet is correct.
Piet, is that get Gen 1 ckyepod? If it is I really can't see the need for anything more with the Gen 2. I have the Gen 1 from the black friday sale on the way, it should be here on January 4th. I did miss if you mentioned if the ckypod has tilt, does it? Thanks for the great videos bud, merry Christmas.
I found I hated bipod. I shoot off my pack, always have. Bought a Harris bipod pulled it after 1 shoot. Due to adapter and attachment. But my longest range is 500yd and less. Not a LRPR, so day pack works great.
Ive been considering the Ckye-pod because of how the legs spread for stability. I never knew about the ease of extending the legs, although the Atlas legs extend almost as easily. I currently run the Atlas 5-H which is more an apple to apples comparison in both function and price. Stability, pan, cant, and locking features are present in both. I dont compete, so i would have to be honest and say the Ckye-pod is a point ahead in the width adjustment in the legs. The 5-H is just wide and i can see that being a hindrance in some stages/positions. Excellent video. I think ill be adding a Ckye-Pod to another rifle over the CAL i was planning.
I currently use a clone Atlas bipod, but I am thinking of getting the MDT bipod or an atlas, but right now and probably for a few more years I will be exclusively shooting airguns because of how regulated the UK law is on firearms. Do you think its worth getting the upgrade or staying with the clone versions, that I am already having problems with and I have only had for 11 ish months.
I had a Harris on my Tikka t3x varmint 308. I got laughed at because the leg collapsed. Now I have a new chassis for that action and bought a CKYE-Pod. Don't gaf how it works, it just has to be better than my buddy's Atlas. Bought an MDT chassis for my Tikka 223 sporter and the pod is interchangeable. I finally saved some money. Love the MDT chassis too. It takes metal 10 rd AICS mags. Nice to say goodbye to those expensive, useless, European plastic 5 rd mags. Cheers
@@IMPACTSHOOTING That was the quickest reply ever. Thanks! Just trying to decide between PRS/short version or Standard. I think Gen 2 lengths have changed a bit. Standard leg length now 9" collapsed which seems to be quiet tall. PRS version is 7.5" collapsed. Only will be doing PRS style shooting on mostly flat terrain. Your opinion? Short or Standard?
@@IMPACTSHOOTING It was a god and objective comparison out of the view of an experienced competition shooter. An average shooter/hunter might see it differently. I just switched from Atlas to a Ckye-pod for the reasons you mentioned

Harris or Atlas?
Atlas or Ckye?

Thanks for a great breakdown on these bipods. The Ckye-Pod seems to be what would suit me best. Wishing a very Merry Christmas to you and yours Piet.

Merry Christmas Piet! I can't wait to buy a new bipod after the holidays! Hopefully fit it to my new FDE XRS .223 Howa 😊
Your gonna love the xrs chassis!
I ordered a cyke pod on black friday and now I am just awaiting the arrival. Hopefully MDT ships it out soon...
They are coming, i got mine yesterday
Same here got line few days ago nice Christmas present
Very good thought out review! Your experience has confirmed my initial impressions of the Ckye pod.
Ckye pod is clearly the more adjustable one and versatile option but its just so expensive like the triple pull is 1000$ but the advantage it gives you is incredible
I feel like $1000 would go a lot further if it goes towards a better barrel or optic
Out here in Southern California where it's hilly with lots of elevated targets the Ckye-pod seems to dominate in competition.
Merry Christmas to you and the family. Great vids I learn so much as a new shooter. Your vids are the best.
Make rubber pads that can go over the bottom spikes so you have quick change options
Merry Christmas to you and your family also. Thanks for the great videos you put out.

Try the Tier One Tac bipod. Excellent too. Happy Christmas Piet and all.
You should do a test on the Warne bipod, happy and safe holidays
Please do a video on the camouflage system you used on those two rifles with the bipods at the start of the video.
Love the review but can't find the ckyepod in-stock anywhere! Been looking for at least 4 months
Excellent video. Well articulated and very informative.
Merry Christmas to you my good man

Where is the Accu-tac bipod?
Thank you for sharing your expertise.
how do i put this on a bolt gun with a swivel stud?

Will you review the warne skyline bipod?
Isn't the Atlas Cal better compared to the Thunder Beast bipod? I'm debating between the two
Both excellent choices, mdt for me though.
Where did you get the external weights?
“Slight edge” for twice the cost - is a hard pill to swallow.
Ive got the CAL and love it. I couldnt agree more, bipods are usually the weakest link.

What magazine pouches are you using.
It’s too bad the new ckye pod is not available yet, as MDT isn’t as fast as ATLAS is at making them

Very nicely filmed.
do you ship to Denmark ?
I managed to score a Ckye-Pod from MDT on their Black Friday sale. It just arrived yesterday!
