- Опубликовано: 9 июн 2024
- Christian Glass is terrified. He is lost, scared, and convinced somebody, or something, is trying to hurt him. So, he calls 911.
When the police arrived, they tried to get him out of the car for over an hour… but the situation escalated.
What do you think of this case? Was this justified or did the Deputy take it way too far?

This is total B.S. Do you mean to tell me that 7 cops ARMED WITH FIREARMS, were scared of an obviously mentally ill person with a small knife? I think not. SHAME ON THEM!
@@markieramirez1126 So it appears. Cheers from Oz! 🦘
This is disgusting another person wrongly murdered by the police with no accountability what so ever. If those incompetent idiots had just waited the hour for a mental health professional to show up that kids would probably still be alive and two parents wouldn’t have had to bury there child. This makes me sick
You could hear how terrified he was with the beanbag gun. I don’t think he was aware of what their plan was. I don’t know if they didn’t tell him or if he mentally was having issues, but he did not deserve this.
This guy should not be driving period!!!! He could have killed someone else.
@@bonjovirocks24Yeah. I mean, he should have called for help for help or something! 🙄
@@bonjovirocks24He wasn’t any more likely to kill someone than any other driver. He called for help because he was scared. He wasn’t a threat, he felt threatened. If any other person with a high blood alcohol level was pulled over, it would be by one, maybe two, cops, and they wouldn’t be surrounding him and pointing weapons at him.
It was obviously psych. Shame on those cops. This is disgraceful.
I can only imagine the fear he was going through and 22 years old I feel for his parents.
I am getting tears😢
@@Wolfietherrat I know it hurts. Bet it’s deeper obvious when it’s your kid . Now ima cry Claudette, hey u take care I mean that . Sucks huh ?
That was murder. Mental health professionals are so important. I think that each police department should employ at least one mental health professional OR require training with their officers. This story made me cry because you could tell that he was just scared and was holding on to that little pocket knife for dear life.
Agreed
Poor poor guy . Did it really need 5 cops stressing him out . I felt so sorry 4 him
I remember this. I'm still angry. 🤬
This was murder of someone with mental illness.
Christian asked the police several times if they wanted him to toss the knives out of the vehicle and they continously told him No.
It's the cops fault the knives remained in the vehicle. And the Supervisor, not on scene, that escalated the situation. All while refusing to get the young man anyone with proper mental health training.
NO ONE THIS UNSTABLE SHOULD BE DRIVING, PERIOD!!!!!!!
@@bonjovirocks24 So glad you are well trained in all forms of mental illness.
@victoriawilliams2786 - People KILL OTHERS IN CARS BECAUSE THEY LOSE THEIR FUCKING MINDS ON A GOOD DAY!! This guy sounded like he was on shrooms!!! No fucking way should he be DRIVING A 3,000 LB MACHINE!!!!
@@bonjovirocks24 Apparently you forgot the part where HE CALLED FOR HELP. 🤦♀️
@victoriawilliams2786 - Did you watch the video or are you smoking shrooms, too??? He didn’t follow any of the police commands. He was far too unstable to DRIVE A VEHICLE. STOP DOING DRUGS.
5 cops were afraid of a pocket knife?! Really?! If they are that bad at their job, they shouldn’t have it.
Right like wtf.
The job attracts psyhopaths
did you watch the entire video?
Wow is all I can say . To all these comments 😊
It's not as though he was yielding a maschette, it was a small pocket knife.
And did those officers really felt threatened by this man?
Why shoot to kill?
I'm sure they could have disarmed him with little effort.
I would have tried to call his parents. So sad.
The female cop saying “We love you too! I want you to get out of the car so you can show me your rocks and crystals… those are so cool!” Bless her at least she tried a gentle approach 😢 I don’t often get a bit choked up from these videos but this one is just tragic period.
Some of those cops need to take a hard look in the mirror after that… “SOMEONE TAZE HIS ASS!!” ?? Saying shit like that is so unnecessary.
I saw something sort of like this, my neighbor with downs syndrome was being kicked out of the pool by police. Yes the lifeguards called the police. My son got involved and simply took him home safely. The police did not need to be involved. Thank you Amy and Chris❤❤❤
People use the police as babysitters these days. Ridiculous.
Wonderful son! 🤗
Wrong cops Wrong time
This is so messed up. It is very obvious that this poor kid was haveing a mental crisis needed and called for help and the police just murdered him. They need to take away, qualified immunity from the police.
This is murder. He was clearly in an altered state. That 911 operator should’ve called it a possible mental health crisis. The police aren’t trained to handle this situation and should’ve called for someone that was trained. It’s a horrible situation.
The police took it way too far.
They are trained to escalate. That needs to end, they need to learn to de-escalate.
Sad,terrible event.
That poor kid.
Thanks Chris and Amy. This story is heartbreaking!
Great coverage Chris as usual!! I'd also love to see your & Amy's take on the current Houston, TX case with the mother driving erratically whilst dropping off her child at school and the cops finally were forced to arrest her and accidently held her face in a fire ant mound. This mother is now suing in civil court. Jim C.
NEVER call the police for help. Always call family, friends or EMT.
Seriously EMTs would have handled it with no issues. They see the absolute worst and yet never seem to have the PTSD type fear that so many cops suffer from.
@@mom.left.me.at.michaels9951how do you call an emt? When 911 dials in the police
I don’t agree with this! Half of the time the police are doing their jobs right,it isn’t always like this!
@@LaurenKaminskiso you got a 50/50 shot with police.
They murdered this poor, tormented soul.
That is WAY too much!!! FIVE?? These cops were not trained in de-escalating a situation?? Kid was clearly mentally ill. Tragically murdered. No question in my mind.
Why on earth was a cop stood on the bonnet pointing a weapon at the poor guy ! I’d be terrified too ! Police handled that so so badly, I’m glad there were charges and accountability.
19 million for the family, with the lack of criminal charges and convictions... In my opinion, certain Law Enforcement personnel should be found guilty of manslaughter.
A whole helluva lot!!!
Agreed. The license to kill needs to be revoked at this point. Not to long ago I had a flight with a German police woman, she was saying how they are trained to shoot below the knee. No one can run away at that point but also not a life threatening injury.
MANSLAUGHTER?! The guy LITERALLY brought a knife to a gunfight.
Sorry guys, this is so troubling that I can't finish the video. Love you Chris and Amy!
Absolutely understand, tragic outcome. 😢
I just felt so angry , and so helpless watching it.
I just can't believe the people that are supposed to protect and serve can murder someone
So sad..
Instead of calling 5 more police officers, the 2 responding officers should of called a Mental Health provider and cops should have them as a resource before they escalate a situation. Why where they in a hurry?
He was mentally ill and the cops didn't want to miss their coffee & donut break.
So sad. This could have been avoided. 😢😞
I love the way that half a dozen plus trained officers are terrified of a pocket knife! Even if it was a full sized hunting knife, they had way more power on their side! It’s horrifying!
Omg I feel so bad for this guy😢 he needed help. Not this. Police need better training to deal with mental health situations like this. Freaking sad and disgusting guys. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE DONT TRUST COPS. 💔💔💔💔 Also, WHY was medical NEVER called to assist in this mental health crisis????
Very well done as always Chris and Amy. This one really sheds light on SO much.
Took it too far
Under NO circumstances should they have used lethal force!! Lay down and take a nap! Let him take a nap too. And if anything understand that he was not actually intending to hurt anyone at all! With a bent knife.!?
One of the saddest ones I remember seeing. Good video.
You can hear his having a sicotic moment how sad for this young man crying for help godbless his suffering soul 🤍💯❤️🤍🙏🏻🤝
How many armed police does it take to communicate with a lost, confused and behavior disordered young man who posed no threat to the numerous officers. What a horrible police initiated mistake.
Great coverage Chris as usual!! I'd also love to see your & Amy's take on the current Houston, TX case with the mother driving erratically whilst dropping off her child at school and the cops finally were forced to arrest her and accidently held her face in a fire ant mound. He was sitting in a car , no members of the public are near , he doesn't have a gun , he mentioned putting the knives out the vehicle , they know something is wrong mentally , yet one cop shoots 5 times.
That's murder , that cop is a murderer , he had no rights to open fire.
THERE IS NO SITUATION THAT CANT BE MADE MUCH WORSE JUST BY POLICE TURNING UP.
They killed him. He was going through a crisis and they killed him for no reason.
Imagine being terrified of a monster and you call for the heroes that are meant to protect you. Then it turns out you led the monster straight to you.
My heart breaks for this boy and his family.
It should be mandatory in all public service jobs for at least 1 person to have Mental health crisis training.
Sad - mental health issues!😢😓❤🙏👍!
This broke me last night. My son has mental health issues and is about to be an adult. I worry every time he is out of my sight and this is why. Police have limited training on mental health.
An overuse of power against one young man
If the cops had just withdrawn a few yards away and sat in their cars until Christian got hold of himself and left the car this wouldn't have happened.
Exactly…. Cops should’ve waited things out (they were way too forceful about it!)
Hello Chris & Amy ! Hope you're both doing well... This is an Ugly Horrible story,Mental Health is the Obvious here.RIP😘💐
I guess the 19 MIL CAN PROOF it was unjustified. I feel awful and I can’t believe what I just saw 😢
Hi Chris. Thanks for the recap.
Do I think it was murder? No!
In my opinion this lacked the element of premeditation. Was it criminally negligent homicide? Absolutely! I can only say, if I were on the scene. I would have insisted that all officers stand well back and wait for Christian to exit the car. If it had taken another hour or 24 hours. They were in no imminent danger.
This case points up the importance of proper police training, in communication, de-escalation and patience and restraint. In non eminently lethal threat situations.
As always very best regards to yourself and Amy from the Republic of Ireland. 🇮🇪
Martin, it absolutely was murder. It doesn't need to be 'premeditated' to be considered murder (that's called 1st degree premeditated murder). However, those 5 shots?? It was clearly a psych issue! They already deployed 5 beanbag shots & a Taser! This cop needs to be charged with murder, and I'm on the side of cops 98% of the time! This 29 y.o. has no business being a P.O.!
@@laleona776
Excellent points. But for context I live in a country where there is only a single statute level. There is no murder one or two. There is only murder or manslaughter. Sometimes confused by the notion of diminished responsibility due to insanity. So I totally understand your point of view, and. I totally agree there should be the most stringent penalties for police officers who overstep their authority. Especially if they unnecessarily cause the death of another human being. Personally I think the cop who did the shooting should go to prison but not for murder one. Also there is still a training issue.
Best regards from the Republic of Ireland. 🇮🇪
That's horrific. Poor guy.
Those cops murdered that boy.
I don't think ANY reasonable person would think this was justified.
That cop was just fed up with him. Shame on him he’s the real monster.
Don’t ever call a cop for nothing !
Ever. They are trained to make the situation worse.
Sometimes we should!
@@LaurenKaminski They are trained to escalate just about any situation no matter how minor it may seem , and instead of doing that they should be teaching constitution and citizens rights ! But they have made it clear our rights mean nothing to them anymore ! They’re trained to lead conversations so that you talk yourself into going to jail , they smile and make you relax , they want you to talk , But you have the right to be silent but most of us don’t have the ability to ! Don’t answer questions until your attorney arrives by your side ! Cops want a quick statement and then another to compare to later to twist you up , in cops mind your guilty until proven innocent , And they will LIE to you over and over, don’t believe a thing they tell you they are not your friends not even a little bit
Just a reminder that if this incident happened (and does) in most other countries they probably don't get a gun pulled on them, and they definitely don't end up dead.
Tragic😢 To be honest, I cried during this video… people who have mental health problems shouldn’t be treated this way. I understand that they didn’t know what to do, but he must’ve been so scared. I feel so sorry for his family
This was murder. That poor man.
His screams. My heart breaks for him. Such a sweet soul. My prayers are with his family.
How come when cops say "were just here to help" seems like they end up killing innocent ppl smh
I heard one cop say “what do we do?”. For me, it was over right then!
I heard one say at around 11.40 "I'm gonna kill him"
This story hurt my soul. 😢
From what I saw on the video, the cops handled it all so wrong. Why didn't they let him toss the knife of the car when he asked them if that's what they wanted him to do. Seems to me that saying yes to the question would have the right way to go. Poor guy must have felt so scared.
Thanks! Love you Chris and Amy!!!❤❤❤
Wow! Thank you so much! And thank for watching us!
Where is the Dept of Health on all of this? They need to come up with a comprehensive way, on how to deal with mental health situation ! Police are not train in dealing with mental health situation!
Dpt of Health???
Umm... no.
What a sad, sad situation. So unnecessary😢.
Thank you Chris & Amy…. Great Channel!
Thanks for spending some time with us tonight!
If there is a possibility of mental health issues,a paramedic with knowledge if mental health issues should be caller to the scene too,to help de escalate,to come and aid once a person is unarmed
Why call for help then refuse it? Something was going on mentally, in my opinion.
Very sad

Thank you for spending time with us!
Such a horrible outcome! Praying for Christian's family and friends!
What the heck? This is not someone calling 911 to report him. This is him calling 911 for assistance. How did they get this so twisted?
Sad
You can tell the wrong cops were on the scene when the kid grabbed his tiny knife while in the car with all windows rolled up and the officers all back away from the car as if he can somehow stab them through a window.
Wow, just wow
It is a psyche issue. They needed a mental health professional.
Did NOT need to shoot the kid. Cops lost patience and took it way too far. Heartbreaking- I was murder.
Sad,Sad,Sad😢😢😢
Never ceases to amaze me how some law enforcement never considers just waiting or letting tensions calm down. They could have called a tow truck. They could have waited for someone with psych experience to come on scene. Why did this need more than two officers on scene??
🤦🏽♀️ bad way to deal with this.
this hurt my heart I had to mute some of it that poor man
Murder! Poor boy, poor family! 💔
I’m so sad for this young man. He should have been treated with respect and care. He should have been helped, kindly convinced that he was safe. So many things could have been done differently.
Bless his heart. If he would have called anyone else besides the po lice he may still be alive. They should be ashamed of themselves.
This is so sad.
"Coaxing" someone does not entail yelling at them. Those cops are hostile and scary.
Absolutely shocking behaviour by the officers.
They completely overreacted and escalated the situation. The poor man was absolutely terrified and they acted like he was a criminal and dangerous. He could of been left to calm down and slowly resolve the matter. But no, a psycho cop fired 5 bullet's into a terrified person who had a pen knife. Disgusting and shameful.
That was murder
why does anyone want to be a cop anymore.
The authority.
It appeals to power hungry sadists
Prob for the pay check
*_I will never understand how a group of police, all armed & protected, could be “afraid” of someone w/ a knife. A pew always has the upper hand. Unless it’s a sworded ninja or something._* 😳
Actually a knife has the upper hand in close quarters. A sword would be the least effective of the 3 in any situation. Look into it.
@@thevolatilitywhisperer7616 *_Eh, I’m good on looking into it. Obviously the ninja part was sarcastic. Relax. Weapons & having the upper hand could be experience based & situational. But in these type of cases? If u say so, then cool!_* 👍❤️🤓
Hey Chris
It's great to see you
Hi!
Poor poor lad. I cannot imagine his fear. That's all he had for self defence, a practical nail file.
Why wouldn't they just let him toss out the "weapons" to begin with. That would have been problem solved, but they literally told him no then made a big deal that he had weapons....just like everything involving the "system" ass backwards
He called 911 and then was scared when the people he called showed up??? That doesn't make sense.
Chris, two thumbs up.

Wait so he stopped him from stabbing himself by shooting him
Murder
tough case. no winners. they spent alot of time trying to coax him out but i don't think they ever shoulda shot him. none of them were ever truly in danger. also i think maybe so many of them there, all strangers to him, didn't help his obvious anxiety and paranoia
Watching this seems like he predicted his death rip youth man
Totally unjustified. Definitely murder IMO
Unjustified period
Hi Chris and Amy - love yr channel. in NSW we have mental health crisis teams which can ask cops to attend but to my knowledge not vice versa. I think this is quite a sad case as clearly on the call to emergency you can detect that this young man had mental health issues or ideations. one answer is to have mental health professionals attached to police services or train police in mental health issues - identification, how to engage n treatment options
Thank you for the insight!
Poor kid called the cops for help and they kill him. How dare him interrupt the cops and donut time. Damn shame.
