I'm a Canadian. And our RCMP is well known here for ignoring indigenous peoples please for help. There are a lot of stories of indigenous women going missing and the RCMP doing nothing about it. It's disgusting and it's heartbreaking. Chris, thanks for sharing this story so well, and for giving it the respect it deserves. You are incredible.
The fact that the RCMP is ignoring the indigenous people makes them more of a target because the perpetrator would be less likely to be caught. Sadly, we have the same thing happening here in the states.
Yes! It makes my blood boil! There is no reason for this 💔@@lindaschaefer5499
You don't need to be Canadian to have heard the stories about the RCMP ignoring indigenous people going missing. Feel like it's been sadly well documented to anyone who follows true-crime. It's an absolute disgrace.
I’m finding out Canada is almost worse than us here in USA
@@michealknight3776 You're highly wrong. At least here people aren't dying cuz they can't afford insulin. Our cops aren't actually going out and shooting people just because they look different. No, y'all are a trash fire we just live real close to it.
I lived in Edmonton for several years. I know the area. Another True Crime Story close to same area was the Tomas Svekla case. He had a dump site on East side of the city for hookers. He was was caught because one girl got away, and running down the road covered in blood. She did survive and he treated his arrest like he was some kind of celebrity scum. See if you guys can find any info on that one. Has
OMG, I live here too, was there ever a creepier man there(i know there are many others)??? I forgot about it? He actually had a woman in a hockey bag in the back of his van...Remember his smiling face on the news too? I bet he's not smiling so much these days...He was a serial killer & I am sure he killed many missing indigenous women too...
Amy & Chris, please look into this 1? And Travis Vader too Those lovely people have never been found either?
Always listen to your intuition. Every single survivor has said that they felt something was off/wrong before the incident happened to them...
It's the truth for sure...
Great advice!!!
I’m half indigenous and half Mexican. It hurts my heart to know that my fellow indigenous women are being targeted. That poor girl was failed by the police and the heartless goblin that hurt her. I can’t help but wonder if the police botched her case because it’s a cover up and one of their own killed her. God bless her soul. May she rest in peace.
The RCMP are infamous when it comes to cases regarding missing indigenous men, women and children. They will flat out refuse to take missing persons cases for years. It's even worse for those with addition issues or a past with any substance issues. "They are probably out partying" is a regular response.
It really makes me angry when I hear about cases where the cops have stuffed them up. The fear she must have felt knowing he wasn't taking her to the city and the anguish of her family . The cops really let them down and they will probably never find the killer thanks to them.
Honestly that seems like most cases. How? Maybe it's that upper iq limit?
Please don't stereotype the police. My daughter has been a police officer for 4 years now. She graduated with 2 majors
(Criminal Justice and Spanish). She puts her life on the line every shift she has. And I pray that she comes home safely every time. And it breaks my heart whenever I hear or read anything that lumps the good cops and the bad ones. Just something to think about. God bless
@@Realparisgirl Excuse me? Exactly how I have stereotyped all police? I did nothing of a sort. The fact of the matter is that while there are some fantastic cops who go above and beyond there are also police who fail to do their job correctly for whatever reason and because of it a criminal (in this case a murderer) is not caught and the families are left to deal with the knowledge there is no justice for their loved one.
Wished she could’ve called 911 instead.
Unfortunately back in 2010 cell phone tracing in a car was in its infancy and because they were moving it would have been difficult to find them, but it would have given her a better chance at surviving for sure. I worked for an organization that served 911 operators in 2012 and was shocked at how difficult it was to trace a moving vehicle on the phoneto 911. It was not like GPS or anything like that because the call was connected to the cell towers and then they triagulate. It was a major issue that was a large focus of my organizations time trying to solve. It was even difficult for 911 to find people in a stationary place because every call center had a variety of different equipment primarily because it is all public funding and some areas couldn't afford better equipment. I no longer work there but I know it has improved a lot since then, at least in the USA.
@@blacknight2149thanks for the explanation for this. It’s horrible how it always comes down to that all mighty dollar. The criminals have access to more money than the damn government. Well I’m not going on a rant. Have a nice evening!
As a Canadian I can confirm there are many many cases similar to Ambers. In May we have red dress day to bring awareness. If you’re infuriated by this case look up Lisa Marie Young or Chelsea Poorman. Two more indigenous women completely let down by the RCMP
They could find this guy really easy. He uses that area and road comfortably and he probably goes to a bar or bar/restaurant on/off that road. If someone was bored with money all they'd need to do is set up trail cams and this guy would be busted.
Edmonton police don't investigate.
This is such a sad case and unfair too 😢 Thanks for covering it Chris!
What a hateful world. It makes me sad. Spread love love not hate. Love you Chris and Amy too! Take care love you.💕💕
I like Amy & Chris too! They're so good at telling the story!
Amen❣️🙏❤️🙏
I'm glad to see you cover this..I get chills hearing his voice!! Amber needs justice poor sweetheart😢❤God Bless Her Family❤
I've heard this recording before. So tragic 😢 RIP, Amber ♥️
I just hate this story. That poor girl.
This is disgraceful! Makes me so angry, they had basically everything they needed to solve this case and they did nothing! 😢
Ambers brother had to be horrified by what was happening to his sister. And being locked up helpless to help her. I hope they catch this guy someday soon Amber and her family deserve justice.
Never get a ride from anyone you don't know!
Equally dangerous, even people you know could hurt you.
She was hitchhiking and drunk ,poor girl bad decision i hope she gets justice.
That's what scares my about Uber and stuff
@yadinavarro9810 is this confirmed?
@@darlawittmier1793I'm a 63-year-old female Uber driver. Women are usually happy to have a female driver. Of course I don't know who's getting in the car next. I keep my door locked until I identify my passenger. I probably consume more True Crime than is good for my psyche given how I supplement my income. But the app tracks every ride and passengers can actually record the ride. And drivers do have access to an emergency contact through the app as well.
I live in Edmonton and there's good reason why we call it Deadmonton.
As an American Indian woman, this makes my heart hurt. 💔 Missing and/or murdered Indigenous women in Canada and the U.S. are a sad epidemic. And Law Enforcement generally don't take their cases seriously, like this one, making Indigenous women even more vulnerable to serial killers.
What a horrible feeling for 17 mins to be scared about your safety. That same suspect killed those 3 other women in that same crime scene or dumping spot. And he stalked that hotel and young girls coming out to get rides, either pretending to be their ride or offered by misrepresenting himself. And he got away with all of it.
Thank you for covering this.
Thanks for listening
Omg, this is so heartbreaking!!!!! Thank you Chris and Amy!!!
So sad indeed!
Why why why is it always the police who prevent any kind of rescue let alone not bothering with clues and leads. Infuriating!
Soooo glad you posted today! 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you both❤ Have a great evening!!
Our pleasure!
"Stepped out and caught a ride"? That's such a generous way to put that.
As someone who lives here, & is new to Edmonton, this one gave me chills.
Hi Chris and Amy.
Thank you for the recap.
What ever happened to. "The Mounties always get their man"?
I'm not a cop, but I think I have an analytical mind.
Unfortunately Amber was already dead. So what valid operational reasons could there be for withholding the remaining sixteen minutes of the phone call?
I could be wrong, but to me. There is every possibility there was and still is a cover-up. Or at the very least ineptitude and dereliction of duty, on behalf of the investigating officers. I hope her Mom and family get the answers they deserve, and that Amber gets the justice she so rightfully deserves.
As always. Best regards from the Republic of Ireland. 🇮🇪❤️
I'm an American Indian, thank you for your thoughts.

You are most welcome Carla. I believe we are all Gods children. All victims and their loved ones deserve the truth and justice.
I hope and pray that Amber and her family get both, and can find peace and solace in our Creators love.
I also hope and pray that the perpetrator is brought to justice, and that if anyone was protecting him, or just being lazy and neglectful of the oath they have sworn to, protect and serve. All citizens, is held to account. 🙏♥️
I feel like you might be on to something. Unless they have a use for it in trial, I can't see any other reason for keeping that 16 minutes under wraps. I wonder if it isn't a cop, certainly wouldn't be a first.
@@rileyfuckingrifle
Yes I agree. It certainly wouldn't be the first time a cop has been the perpetrator of heinous crimes.
Love those descriptions Ineptitude and Dereliction of Duty!! These missing women in Canada has been going on for far too long. They need to be more attentive and do much better in their investigations!
The way he said "absolutely" gives me chills, like he knew exactly what his plan was for her. I'm so sorry Amber, your poor little boy lost his momma so young. Hes now around 14. My heart breaks over this case, she was so incredibly intelligent to record so much. I pray they find this monster! 🙏
Like hearing the devil's voice.
This case has always stuck with me.
The Chapter-think his name is-lives in Canada and put together who may have killed her.
That Chapter?
It's great seeing you, Chris
Thanks!
What a sad story…. Thank you Amy and Chris.❤❤❤
Thanks for listening
Hey Chris! 🩷
Chris and Amy thanks for another fast delivery of the facts! You really pack a lot of information into the videos. 😮. The damn Law Enforcement needs to get their heads out of their asses and set up some stings to try and catch this guy (could be more than one). Love this channel and in half the time I now have time to do other things!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Awesome channel!👏
Thank you! 👍
Unbelievable. Her case was probably solvable. Do these women and girls just not count? The authorities should be held accountable. Genocide is unacceptable on so many levels. Canada is not a third world country.
Thank you Chris. So sad.
So sad indeed!
What a scary guy. Be careful out there and don't take rides from strangers. 💜☮️
I remember this story. I can't imagine the terror and horror she must've felt realizing what was happening & about to happen 😢🕊🙏
The ways he says 50th street😮 the last time...creepy!!!!
Wow very scary and sad
Three women identify the same guy as the one in the recording, but the police do nothing?! The Canadian government needs to step in and take over this investigation, just like when this happens in the US and the FBI takes over from absolutely terrible police forces. I pray so hard they find this guy soon, because he is likely still out there hurting people. This behavior doesn't just stop on its own, like a viral illness running its course.
❤THANK YOU CHRIS AND AMY❤
Heartbreaking that there are human beings, typically a lone male, who prey on vulnerable women and girls. No excuse for law enforcement not exhausting every opportunity to catch the perpetrator of each and every crime against every victim. Ridiculous to wait any period of time. And to have a longer recording without sharing it with the family and using it in whatever way they can to locate the perpetrator is unacceptable. Allowing indigenous women to become the lost and forgotten people of our North American population is horrendous and needs to stop. If police officers cannot do their job they need to get replaced by people who will. Not utilizing their training is mind-blowingly unacceptable and should have legal consequences to the officers not able or unwilling to do their jobs. I hope this case is ultimately solved and the murderer brought to Justice. 😭💔
This is soo sad 😔
Was the brother on the phone with her the whole 17 minutes? He should be able to say what was going on
Thank you for this, it's important to make aware again and again how vulnerable groups are a target for crime while authorities only shrug their shoulders.
Glad you found the video useful!
How sad for that young mother. They'll never find her killer.
So sorry Amber
oh my god….. what a mess!
Gosh I wish she would have called 911 instead of her brother.
So strange you chose this story to cover. I just reported to the RCMP a couple weeks ago to look into Kevin Queau on this case....
Omg. Terrible investigation
Steve Wallis's friend, Crazy Neighbor, passed away recently. RIP
I didn’t know they found her
It's absolutely absurd that they're keeping this recording to themselves and not releasing it to the public so someone recognizes that man's voice. This case is as cold as the freezer. Release the damn tape. They should have released this to begin with because that the man may have been in town for business or living around there at the time and someone probably would have recognized his voice. He had a very distinctive voice. This is crazy. And if two women came forward and recognized that guy's voice, it's crazy, insane that the police wouldn't be investigating that, and if it is that guy's voice labeling him a suspect. I believe that the fascist and dictator leadership of Canada has made policing in Canada unaccountable. They're more worried about arresting people for saying something bad on the internet and not staying home during covid than they are catching murderers!!!
My heart is in pieces for her and her family. 💔 😢She was so incredibly intelligent to record that, but still nothing? This monster MUST be found! Please, God, hear our prayer 🙏
Why do people just feel the need to kill??? I don’t get it
Because they aren't like you, they are evil.
@@kateruterbories2692 i guess so. But one has to be mentally unstable to just see someone and feel like killing them
Horrible. Surely someone recognizes his voice?
The police should be charged for the murder. Not only liable, but potentially involved and covering up for each other.
Frigging horrible.....ughhhh 😒. They need to find these monsters who take the lives of all these indigenous women and girls!!! How DARE the authorities ignore their cases!!
Talk about dropping the ball..shame on them
Every time I hear this man's voice I feel like I've heard it b4. It seems very familiar yet I'm not sure why, I can almost picture him, which makes no sense either. I think it was another recording or video because it wouldn't have been in person. It racks my brain each and every time I hear it!
Rcp simply didn’t value her. It makes me so angry
I wish she had dialled 911 😔
What a shame that the police didn't even care may she rest in peace and justice for her will be served for her family 🙏 😢 💔
Thanks for the recap.
I don't understand why the native women are such easy targets. Obviously, the police aren't taking the cases seriously, but I don't understand why they don't take the cases seriously. Whatever their issues are, solving murders is their job.
Drugs and prostitution. It's a sad, sad state of affairs.

@@msc8663 Hello again, msc.
Thank you for sharing her story. RCMP don’t give a shit about our girls. This is so hard to hear because she sounds just like every girl from my reserve.
That is so sad 😢, yes police don’t seem to give a rats ass about indigenous people who have been missing or killed. I’m from Edmonton and an Indigenous woman who is terrified to travel anywhere in and around the city. Thanks for sharing this story.
Actually I've seen a few documentaries about missing indigenous women here in the USA and everyone is complaining about authorities never show real effort into these cases. A lot of heartbreaking stories. Sometimes they would be brushed off when there is actually a chance to go out and dig for some leads while the whole thing still fresh the victim likely to be still alive..
The problem here in the US is Natives have their own law enforcement under BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) and they don't play well with others. No collaberation, no real investigation. They keep it internal.
I hope they tested her remains and whatever clothing of hers was found for evidence. I don’t think ring cams were a thing back then, but he had to have stopped at a gas station or something. I hope this case is solved someday.
I don't see how her belongings in the motel has anything to do with this
I dunno why but for some reason this one affects me more than other murder stories. I think because I imagine she was so close to being saved? 🤷♂️
You’d think someone would recognize his voice.😪
I thought s she just said Joe

It’s typical RCMP when it comes to native women going missing. It’s very sad and it happens all the time. I live not far from where this happened
What horrible unprofessional police work , the police is the most pathetic!!!!
I betyah that the guy who gave the misinformation, might be the killer.

Canada sucks when it comes to Indigenous people going missing. They do nothing to help and don't care. It's terrible that these families will never actually know what happened to their missing loved one.
Did she call 911?
No
They probably already know who this guy is, sounds like they simply do not care about indigenous people there. What a tragedy, it simply puts a target on these folks when evil people know they can literally get away with murder. 😢
They probably know who it is or have a good idea just don’t have enough evidence
America has the same issue, indigenous women never get looked for like they just don’t matter. It’s really sad.
Exactly. I don't understand.

But they don’t want the government or police in their reservations.. how can they help them?
