I have one about a year, also i had about hundred different guitar. And it is amazyng. I drop and sale nec picups and change to fender Mustang nec humbacker for more bright bright. I change fabric switcher to basic 3way one. Add two sprig to lock bridge. And now it my favourite guitar. Super stable, bautifull, stainless frets, clear tone, comfortable to play.
'Volume Loss Tests' -yes! Thanks for this. No one usually illustrates this issue and I find it crucial; it rules switching when playing live unless you have a boost to stomp on as you make the switch. It would have been a nice touch if they somehow fettled the innards to compensate for this. A very informative video, thanks. I have a G290 FAT which I really like but the Cort pickups sound 'dull' and it's with my tech at the moment have Seymour Duncans fitted (JB and Jazz).
Thanks for taking time to watch and comment. You cant go wrong with the JB set, someone people dont like them but i find they are great for letting the character of a guitar come through.
Or you use a compressor to equalize the volume maybe. Funnily enough, there is a Cort video on YT about the G300 Pro in which two telesales demonstrators (or so they and their ilk always seem) point to the volume loss thing as a _plus_ as switching to it will "clean up" for rhythm. Personally I have both the G300 Pro (love it) and the G290 Fat II which have the same switching and get along well enough with it; it is a little irritating at first but one soon gets accustomed and learns to make it work. It helps that the sounds in poitions 2 & 4 are actually good, but just a bit quieter than 1,3 & 5.

Yeh man its definitely its own thing even if on paper it shares specs with pricier guitars. I do wonder how long ill have it in stock for because of the brand name but i figured it good enough to have instock for someone to come and try 😁🤘
This guitar is a Suhr modern clone, I specced out a similar custom Suhr modern and ended up with a price of $5210. The differences were Suhr branded pickups rather than the SDs, Suhr branded locking tuner rather than Cort branded locking tuner. The Suhr has a Gotoh 510 bridge while the Cort has a Gotoh 510 clone branded Cort. The Basswood body with a maple 1/4" top, baked maple neck and fretboard are all the same between the guitars. The G300 is a cool guitar, but it's really a Suhr Modern clone
The charvel is compound radius too. But on paper this may just beat it spec wise. Its a totallg different guitar though so for a different set of preferences for sure
The electronics on the Charvel are much better, though. The Cort could do with better pots and capacitators. Different woods and overall feeling but two fantastic guitars.
All day every day. Had both, kept the g300. Actually did more than stand up against it, it blew it out of the water. This feels better, feels built better too, sounds better, plays better live and in the studio. And is just spec'd out to all hell. Knowing that I'll never have to pay for a refret or anything is so so encouraging. You can go as hard as you want and the worst thing that could happen if you had old strings could be extra wear but hardly noticeable in difference really and I'd rather get new drinks then sens it in for a refret after 5 years or whatever. It also means that because this is my main guitar for everything that my other guitars get equal but minimal wear spread across them all so the likelihood I'll wear into any single one of those either is small now because of how much less I play each one, due to having a beast in the g300 that wants to be let loose more often lol.
I think this guitar has a treble bleed circuit by default. I installed it on my KX-Custom Cort, it's pretty simple. Just a capacitor and a resistor on the volume pot.
Im very familiar with treble bleed and how it sounds this does something different too. As i say seems to work more like a master volume rather then cleaning up and retaining treble. Bit odd haha.
I'm mostly used to thin necks... my current guitar is a PRS SE Custom 24... do you think I could get the same speed on this... or it would required some serious practice?
This would be noticeably bigger than the SE. I don't buy into thin necks are 'faster' to me thats a nonsense it's just about what you personally prefer the feel of. For me a bigger neck is always better no matter the style, but thats just me :)
I would buy a used G300 over a new G290 just because I prefer the pickups and then the value can still be had by going used.

Hi, noise in the power is much harder to fix then varying power etc that can be fixed with a power conditioner. Just make sure all your gear power supplies are good thats the best you can do within reason.

@@ahmed_elnaggarI have pretty small hands unfortunately, but I got used to playing my stratocaster wich has 43mm nut width, and a fatter type of neck. Looks like Cort G300 pro is 42mm nut width with that ergo-v profile, so looks pretty confortable for me.
yeh its good, the only trouble is being a knife edge trem you can make it slip off the 2 pins when restringing/extreme trem use. For that reason id prefer the more Charvel type one.... But thats pretty minor and is still a good unit for sure.
So I'm a little torn and could use your advice between the cort... A g&l legacy.. a vintage brand strat or a squire American contemporary series. I'm just a garage player ...hard rock and metal.. and don't really want the hassle of a Floyd rose but want the best option available Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Ill help if i can 🤘 So like with most things… budget is the major decider. The guitars you listed there are all quite different in price point. This cort is going to have by far the best pickups for hard rock and metal of all those guitars, like by alot. But it does have a chunky neck too which you may or may not like for those styles. Vintage is only a good shout if your good with guitar tech stuff or the dealer promises to go over it, as they always come out the box needing work. Ive bought dozens and nearly all were wrong out the box. Id swerve the squire only because your already looking at things like this which are more upmarket anyways and will serve you longer before wanting to change haha. Ones you havent mentioned that can be got in that price point which would be worth a look are things like Ibanez RG midranged hardtail models. You might be lucky to find a Charvel DK24 hardtail used which is another great guitar and with a slightly slimmer neck then this one. A wildcard recommendation would be a used chapman - just because almost no other guitar brand loses money like a chapman. Meaning you can get ALOT of spec for your money on them.
I didnt get this in brand new but im pretty certain most top end Cort factory stuff ships with D'darrio 10 - 46. Yeh you could dive on this trem for sure

This is a smart question, I did LOVE the Charvel.... But honestly the pickups in the Charvel are VERY hot to the detriment of versatility in the sense they will want to take your head off all the time haha. Much easier to add gain and volume then it is to take away sort of thing, As a studio tool... I think my bet might go to the Cort. But both are very nice bits of kit.

To anyone else wondering, the g300 would be my choice also, everytime. It stomps on the charvel imo. I kept the g300 over it because of how great I feels and plays.
Its strange that your volume is doing that. On my model it acts just like a normal volume knob where as you said, it cleans up if it's distorted at full etc. Odd 🤔
Yeh was really odd, not come across another guitar volume that just acts as an amp like master volume before haha. Maybe it was a weird cap or something that found its way in there
Not similar to a pacifica as thats more of a fender style feel. This particular model is on the larger C side. The other models of the time like the plus top pro were tiny slim D necks. In 2019 everything was changed and each model was revised so important to note pre 2019 models are not the same as the newer versions.
That’s what I was going to say, it must be a treble bleed. Also the volume drop when going to the split coils is entirely normal. PRS get round this by winding one of the humbucker coils hotter with more winds and when splitting they go to the hotter coil.

There pretty different honestly. The charvel is slimmer but not like ibanez slim. This cort is more telecaster bigger sort of sized

I got the same guitar (same colour too). Sounds awesome but frets aren't levelled well...bends choke out on high e.

On my G300 pro clear channel, there is a noise in 2nd and 4th gear, is it normal?thankyou
They are the autosplit positions so it should be fine unless the noise comes over the playing

Hi sorry cant give exact MM thickness. But think like a modern fender telecaster reissue with a flatter radius and youll have a good approximation
21mm 1st fret, 23mm 12th fret. Slightly thicker than Fender’s modern C.

9 to 42 should be fine then - i cant honestly say why you would have issues outside of just set up and making sure the saddles arent the issue

There’s no treble bleed on this guitar. It’s the 500k pots and the specific resistors.
