hey, could you please review the schecter´s synyster gates standard? i would love to hear you opinion about that guitar and i´m sure i´m not the only one :D thank you!!
@@stumpe3942 I would ask, as it might depend on the production year or what option was ordered. I can see some TM-5's on Reverb where the actual signed Shijie certificate says "stainless", but others that say "nickel" on the certificate.
i have the Schecter C-1 Platinum Translucent Black it has EMG 81 85, set neck, extra jumbo frets. i got it on sale for $500 a couple years ago, now its $750, plays great. made in south korea.
I'm mostly a telecaster and les paul special guy. I'm mostly not into "metal" / floyd rose guitars but a few weeks ago I was in a local shop and fell in love with a Jackson soloist. I couldn't stop thinking about it and went back the next day and bought it. I love that guitar. I cant stop playing it.
building one yourself may not be the most practical option, but it is SO rewarding! I built one using a hardtail HSS body that my uncle helped me paint in his garage, a mighty mite 9.5 radius neck with sperzel locking tuners, and for pickups i used a dimarzio cruiser neck, true velvet middle, and super distortion for the bridge. i ended up taking it apart a long time ago and used some of the parts for other guitars, but i'm in the process of finally rebuilding it 🥰
After owning Fender, Schecter, Washburn, Ibanez AZ, Stearling and Kiesel, I fell in love with Charvel DK 22 with standard trem', Still have the Fenders and Keisels.
It’s crazy you say this, because I feel the exact same way! There is just something different about the Charvel DK 24! It made me literally sell my Gibson 50s standard Les Paul! Because I didn’t want to play it that much while owning the DK 24! Charvels are genuinely unbelievable.
After years of swooning over them, I finally got a Charvel So-Cal earlier this year and I absolutely love that thing. I know some of the stuff is more traditional that what these offer, such at the blocky neck joint, but the next profile is just perfect for my hand.
Word. I have a Charvel So-Cal and I also find it to be my favorite guitar that I've used. There is nothing wrong with the pickups, the 1000 series Floyd Rose works great, the compound radius is ergonomic and last (but not least) STAINLESS STEEL FRETS! Occasionally I do wish the bolt-on heel was more modernized, but it's not a big deal when it's a 22-fret anyways. On the topic of the heel/neck joint: I have a cheapo-Schecter 7-string with 24 frets that has a basic bolt-on neck but the upper 23 & 24 fret access is so atrocious with BOTH the body-horn and the heel blocking my hand that I'm not sure why they bothered in the first place unless it's only for tapping. I guess if you want extra frets, you gotta work on the upper fret access some more in my opinion.
I have bought guitars based on your reviews and did not regret it. But I have to say for someone in the budget superstrat market, you can't overlook the HB fusion series. My first gen Fusion maple neck/ mahogany body Floyd equipped monster is still amazing me even today. I've had it for about three years and paid around $350 and you could probably pick up used for less. SS frets,Grover tuners, split coil HH. I threw some SDs at it (even though the stockers were okay) and it is right up there with my Ibanez , strats and pauls.
As many have already mentioned, Charvel San Dimas and Charvel DK24, are hands down fantastic super strats! I own two Made in Mexico Charvels and they play like butter. They are usually around $1000 new, but you can also find them much less on the used market.
Yeah, they are literally the best. My DK 24 made me sell my Gibson Les Paul standard 50s! Not kidding. Third stupidly good for the price point. I literally preferred the Charvel over my Gibson
No guitar I've ever tried in my life gave me the same feeling I get when I play my Ibanez AZ Premium, this guitar has been my main ever since I got it and I'll never part with it :)
Based on your review of the Schecter C1 SLS Elite, I purchased one a few years ago and absolutely love that guitar. Just a beautiful, specked out instrument and sounds fantastic with the Fishman PU's! All credit goes to you Darrell.
-Ibanez RG Genesis Series ( Made in Japan re-issue of the iconic RG Prestige Series from the 90's) for under 1000 Euros. -Charvel Pro Mod Series, San Dimas or So-Cal ( for a more oldschool 80's style superstrat) or the DK24 ( for more modern type of superstrat). Those would be my recommendations.
I am looking to buy a superstrat and my options are: - Shijie TM5 - Sterling JP150 - Charvel DK24 HH I’m also thinking about a Prs SE which is the Standard 24-08. Any suggestions?
You should consider the RGA42FM model, I prefer it to the S series. Contoured Body, very thin and super lightweight, 2 humbuckers, 5-way switch, Wizard 3 neck. Amazing guitars. And VERY reasonable for the level of guitar you are getting.
Okay, so, Darrell, a lot of people give you the beat-down for having some pretty pricey guitars in some of your reviews, but... you have vindicated yourself here man!!! I could piece together the cash to buy any one of these, even in a living from one payday to the next kind of a budget! And these are some really great guitars! I think your long experience with each of these translates to giving us very high confidence in any of these! Great post!!! Don't let them whine this time!!! Hahahaha!!!
I’ve had the Charvel D24 for about a year now, and I can confidently say that it’s the best guitar I’ve ever owned. I literally sold my Gibson 50 standard less Paul, because I didn’t play it, or like playing it as much as the Charvel! I’ve not played anything that’s been more expensive that I thought was better, maybe fancier, but genuinely if you buy a DK 24, you are set for life with about as good of a shredder as it gets
Schecter is one of the best guitars I’ve ever had. I own a hellraiser diamond series that I had since 2015. And although she’s a heavy metal guitar, I mainly play r&b hiphop and gospel
Having some audio of the guitars in review(even with youtube compression and loss of quality) would definitely enhance this video, granted this is the first video of yours I have watched, so maybe there's an underlying reason. Let us hear these guitars! Great video :)
I got a used C1 elite a week ago in great condition. It needs some fret leveling, but is really nice otherwise. Much more 'modern' than a strat; tall frets, thin neck, compound radius, active pickups, etc.
Surprised there was no Jackson included as they make the best super strats in the 1000 dollar range or less usually made in Indonesia or Mexico. The USA models start around 2000
I love my Ibanez sas32fm. Sa series are very interesting and unique. Only bad point for me is not having 24 frets. Also i tried that Cort g300 too. It was one of the best budget semi-pro guitars i every played.
@Robert Buffalo What model and what mods? I have a '21 STE and love it.( The regular Strat type). Looking for a shredder to replace my Jackson I had to sell some years ago.
@@ltgray2780 The guitar started as 2020 Strat Fiesta Red SSH STE. The only thing that is left Shijie is the color and wood. Everything is custom and/or fabricated with a cost of $3000 in mods. Schecter c-1 is by far my favorite and considered my baby. I did go for the sustaniac version with floyd rose trem but it beats any other I have right now.

Chavel and Jackson are both owned by Fender Musical Instrument Co. I own a Chavel single cut 25.5 LP but they don’t make them anymore.

Great video Darrell. My super strat made in the USA is my 1991 Fender Prodigy. Paid $349 back then & it’ll hold its own with any other super strat.
The Schecter and the Shijie, but then I’m only fuelling my G.A.S. 😅

My superstrat suggestions always include Yamaha Pacifica, Charvel, and Harley Benton
I'm kind of a Charvel fanatic but some of these look pretty interesting.
These are great guitars! Also I think Yamaha Pacifica 612 is another great super strat. No stainless steel frets but it is speced out.
It's not a superstrat if it doesn't have a locking trem. I have one, and I love it, but it's only an S-type.
@@tomaslopez2940 Nice. There are different trems out there. Whatever works best.
Revstars are great, all Yamaha's are somewhat underrated
