Next time you come to California, head a little farther South to Newport Beach. You’ll see Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Bugatti’s galore on Pacific Coast Highway along with $20 million dollar homes galore. Great video even if you missed the super mansions in Belair.

It’s actually the opposite randy, the rich drive the beaters because they want to be undetected and not become targets by others, and the poor people buy nice cars so they can be flashy to others, but of course that’s just my opinion

Yeah I'd do that I had a 1990 Honda accord beater car, but damn it is a tank and a great vehicle. I'd drive that. All day. No one would suspect a thing.

Hey Randy if your still in the LA area check out Pinks (Hot Dogs for lunch) order the Mulholland Drive. Then you will be close to the Peterson car museum ..check that place out...Would make great content!!!! All the great actors/actress cars are in there. A truly unique collection.

I haven't been to LA since 1993... nothing like tooling through Anaheim in your parents' 1993 Grand Caravan blasting Humps for the Boulevard on the Infinity stereo. Gotta give props to LA for introducing me to a bunch of awesome hip-hop I never got to hear in Canada. I remember seeing a Ferrari while touring the real rich areas around Greystone Mansion, but not much else.
You make the best videos and you always entertain me!

Santa Monica is Nice. Been there and San Francisco drove across Golden Gate Bridge.
There are areas that will meet you expectations.
I know exactly how you feel about Beverly Hills, I was out there two years ago, drove from Las Vegas and back in one day just to see LA. Was not really impressed. But great video and had fun watching it.

Man I wish you had more time in LA, if you ever go back you need to accomplish two things 1) visit the Peterson Museum, it’s car guy mecha and 2 ) drive the PCH north.... one of the most beautiful roads in the USA.

I suppose you been corrected (and maybe it comes up later in the video) but in the 19:00 area, you mention being deflated about Beverly Hills homes. Where you were driving around was probably just about the "poorest" section of BH (I guess you would call that area "the lower flats"). The area where that $4.5 million house was located was a bit nicer, but once you get close to and then above the Sunset Strip……… HUGE estates, absolutely beautiful landscaping and indeed your Lamborghinis, Ferrari's, etc.
(UPDATE) I've now watched through the video and see that you did find some of the larger homes. I know a number of those folks (LA is my hometown) and the reasoning for not having a Lambos & the Bugattis Ferraris (at least visible) is that some wealthy people don't want to draw attention to themselves as well as having their daily driver vehicles blend in better. When you're that rich, you don't NEED to look rich all the time is their philosophy.
Now, you should have driven up into the hills ABOVE the Sunset strip… And then you will definitely see more supercars and even nicer estates with winding hills etc. - TRULY the Beverly Hills… Hills :-)
Then, if you went to where the Playboy mansion was in (very nearby) Holmby Hills as well as the area called "Belair"…THOSE are generally where the fanciest estates are (in the LA area).
If I were with you (LA is my hometown) I would have DEFINITELY taken you to the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Belair Hotel (both close to the Sunset strip). BH hotel is one of my favorite places on earth (and where I met Shaq and a couple other celebrities, a few years ago). The Belair Hotel has swans dude… Swans!
Next time you're in Dallas, we can do a micro version and meet up at the Ritz Carlton for drinks (and I can show you that I still have my Ridge wallet:-)

I worked in Monterrey, CA for 6 months... Few flashy cars for a tourist town. Bought my 300zx while there. I thought it looked better then most. Mostly the same everywhere you go. Houston, there are nice cars downtown. Scottsdale, AZ was the place to see some really nice cars. Anyways, the guys comment below about the rich buying junkers to not be detected is about right. Youngsters are the ones who buy up the expensive cars to feel important or look that way.

GET AFTER IT!!!! Great video Randy. Wealthy people stay wealthy by leasing those exotic cars. The smart ones drive sensible luxury cars. Those every day cars you saw on the street parked in front of those nice homes may have been hired help. You are the man!!!!
Fun and cool video; so many places to go, things to do and people to see! You don't have enough time to visit all of the places of interest. Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and Griffith Observatory would be nice, but you need another 2 weeks to do it!:( It sucks you had to drive the trip solo, but what about your brother Tim or your friend Austin tag along?
I"m just south of L.A. and moving to OK next week look for your drive home on the I40.
Wish you would've turned around after seeing the Z4, and gone back and checked out that International Scout that was parked on the street. I don't think I've ever seen one of those Lexus's, and I live in a pretty big city - I saw a Lambo just last night.
15:04 is a great place for a photo with the rodeo street sign and has a good restaurant in that little plaza and it's affordable. That house in Beverly hills is called and considered the poor Beverly hills on the border Los Angeles, still a nice area. South of Wilshire is not where you go unless ur in Hancock park. You want to go around the Sunset area north of Santa Monica Blvd. Those normal ass cars are the housekeepers and the rich people's kids cars. The Newport and South Orange county area is super nice and is considered the red part of California. I'm happy you enjoyed it. If you would have taken a bus tour they take you into those fancy ass neighborhoods.

A lot of people are fooled by what movies and TV shows say Beverly Hills is supposed to look like. Most of the Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bugatti’s and Porsches are inside the garages of those big mansions.
Another great video. But your tour guide didn't take you into the richest and most impressive areas of Beverly Hills where your "movie impressions" could be satisfied. The area near Santa Monica Boulevard (North) and Rodeo Drive is best. Enjoyed seeing the Lucia part of your video.

My version of rich people cars is Genesis G70, a Stinger GT, Kia Telluride, Nissan Murano and a Hyundai Santa Cruz. That’s what I’ll have when I move to Beverly Hills in 2023. lol
