- Dragonball z budokai tenkaichi 2 clearly didn't balance this level well at least without any evolution z. So much so that they actually got me to rage quit but today Im finally back to beat the Metal cooler saga in dbz bt2.... and its going to get bad

OK here's a quick few tips for doto replay missions for dragon balls and exp,you can get multiple copies of z items if you replay the stages that gave them to you. You can also buy items from king Kai and fuse certain z items to get stronger ones. If your not sure which ones to use look up z items fuse list for budakai 2 on the ps2 and lastly check your z items because you have tons of them that your not using doto.
This needs more likes so Doto sees it

The attempt where you killed like 4 of then with vegeta then just got smacked on Goku. Feels like when a souls boss has like 3 phases, you beat phase 1 and 2 without getting hit at all, then just get 1 shot in phase 3 XD

Actual tip: There is a path you can take through the saiyan Saga's episodes that garuntees dragon balls. You can use this to farm an item called 18's kiss from shenron. This item boosts ALL STATS by 5 and stacks. The best part is that you dont need to do a single fight to farm them

DOTO PLEASE READ THIS: (PS constroller)
When you kick him up by holding up+trianlge, after you press X to jump up to him, press triangle before spamming square. Pressing triangle does a gut punch which stuns him. you can spam square after this but don't
Instead grab him which sends him flying and combo a special move with that or you can simple do a special move right after the stun.
One of the only combos I remember when I used to play these games as a kid. Cheers!

A few things to keep in mind:
1. Goku ss1 and 2 are bad in BT2😢: on punish combo some characters can just block him.
2. Use the dash+square+triangle+square, does lots of damage in this game‼️❗️
3. You have to level up these characters before some of these fights 😅
4. Can't wait to see Doto fight Hirudegarn 💀

Ssj2 is bad but ssj1 Goku is better than base Goku in bt2. He has better blast stocks than base.

Spam ki blasts by just mashing triangle, you have options but you forget about them mid fight 💀
Also please use L1 + O more often for explosive waves and wild sense!!
It helps a lot to get the CPU out of it's comfort zone, so use it!
Edit: Explosive wave can be triggered even when you are eating his combos up so consider that too

Bro this reminded me of the first dragon ball game I played on the PSP and you had to fight buu at the end to unlock him and ssj4 Goku. The difficulty on that was insane because you didn't recover health in between fights and buu has a BLUE health bar and was the last opponent. 10 y/o me was done lol

Honestly, I prefer doto use very minimal boosting items, it's giving him the difficulty he needs to make banger content. A lot of folks want to help by telling Doto to use his z-boosts and stuff, but properly leveled Doto isn't giving us hilarious moments like 11:07, or his godlike vegeta runs at 20:30 and 31:26.
This series has been one of my favorites Doto!
Also, you tech grabs in this game by timing your block with the grab hitbox, think of SF parry. (disclaimer, couldn't find video proof, good luck!)

This unlocked an emotion in me. I remember playing this game, the crt, the couch, the hot summer room. This game introduced me to so much dragon ball (I was maybe at the frieza fight in the anime) so I remember Cooler being the first guy to show up and be stronger than frieza and how much that forever made me love the character. I also remember playing this game and winning by being “angry”. It’s almost rewarding to do it.

To tech grabs, tap guard at the right time. You can also just attack to stop them. Or, you can also sidestep (X + right or left), which I suggest you use more often during hand to hand combat!

You know you can change the settings to stop the "ghost aura" effect.
Therefore you have to adjust the upscaling fixes by right-clicken the game in your games list. There you can customize the position of the fixes and correct this issue

Ya know, at a certain point, more HP isn't useful considering without Def points you can start taking over 2 bars of damage from supers, and they can also increase their defense so your long combos that should do a full bar are doing a bit less. Pure HP and Def can at least let you tank super well though. But yeah, not leveling up Vegeta and barely leveling Goku definitely has you at a major disadvantage. You don't need to be level 100+ or anything like that, but being good with just a few decent Evolution Zs will definitely lead to fewer resets
That ending! I remember this being one of the harder fights in the game, so I felt that when you finally beat him!
Probably not going to be read because I'm slow as always, but to tech a grab is circle during the animation and to tag out, *if I recall correctly* is L2 + L3 + R3.
By the way, grabs are quite easy to make here compared to other fighting games (at least in my experience), and it's quite easy to combo off them. So, they might be worth adding to one's repertoire.

This game was my intro to Dragon ball. I got the game with my Wii. And fell in love with the series.
I remember being stuck here for AGES. I have no clue how i ended up beating this.
I was young enough I didn't even realize I could skip the cutscene. I got so mad.

Dragonball is more than just a Game, it's an EXPERIENCE!
some tips:
either stay far or very close. You're often too close to dodge Blast Attacks
After striking an enemy down get away and wait for the blast attack instead of rushing towards it
Don't use Blast Attacks that you have to charge up (Kamehameha), just use the Blast 2 Attacks (like Meteor smash)
Buy better potara's like slot +3
Stop throwing dude
Telling doto to stop throwing is the equivalent of telling yamcha not to be the laughing stock
This and the Hildegarn Fights are the hardest in Story Mode
Maybee some Cyborgs will Be hard too

You tried to implement some more combos :J Lemme gimme some more tips for you and lay it in FigtherZ terms
Double Tap X - Super Dash
L2 + Double tap X - Super Dash behind the back
While super dashing charge up punch button, enemy can blink if not, he it will break his block.
Hold Punch button in gerneral to charge up the attack, you can give this attack a direction (left, right, up, down). If the full charge lands, you can super dash afterwards with the X button and get in more damage.
So do your basic combo, you do always but end it with a charged attack and press X for a super dash, full charge punch again and you can do super dash yet another time and full charge punch him again and do your super afterwards. That should be around 20k damage.
That last fight was one of the most cinematic fights ive ever seen

Doto you need to dash after you do a heavy hit. It’s more damage and adding the teleport feature is even more damage. Plus add in the fulllll combo. After you “sweep the feet” kick them up do that combo with a heavy smash into a rush attack. It does soooo much damage.
