- Busch Gardens just finished the track on Iron Gwazi. This is gonna be the first big record breaking roller coaster added to the park in years. My three trips to Busch Gardens have all been near the top of my best days in a theme park and I cant help but to think this new addition is gonna make Busch Gardens one of the best theme parks in the world. I really think Iron Gwazi will change Busch Gardens forever. Built by Rocky Mountain Construction it will be the tallest and steepest Hybrid roller coaster in the world. In this video I talk about the current state of the park and all the recent changes they have made preparing for the 2020 Iron Gwazi.

Thank you for noticing something that I did. Gwazi sits smack-dab in the middle of the park, and will be front-and-center once you walk to the main plaza. As a Florida resident that calls this my home park, I am proud to say that I love every ride here. The Busch Gardens parks are masters of presentation, and every one of their coasters, even the clones, is almost as fun to watch as they are to ride. Each unique ride has at least one iconic moment that is guaranteed to catch your eye. For Cheetah Hunt, it's that figure eight. For Montu, it's that Immleman that goes near the pathway. Kumba, the interlocked corkscrews. Sheikra, the drop and splashdown. However, for Iron Gwazi? All of it. You can see it throughout the entire park, and that overbank over the station, the lift hill, and the "death roll," as they call it, under said lift hill, nobody will be able to resist just staring at it with their jaw agape. It is another reason to be proud of Busch Gardens Tampa.
You make a great point about each of the coasters having a really good spot to stop and watch!!! This is the type of stuff that makes me love the Busch Gardens parks. Details with EVERYTHING
That's what Kings Island, my home park, lacks. They tore down Vortex which was the only coaster you could really see in its entirety. The rest are blocked in some way.
@@bechtoea Come to think of it, it was one of the few coasters there that you could say any part of it (excluding the lift hill) from the pathway. Makes sense to some extent why they built the park this way. The Beast was such a success that they attuned to that kind of ride, though with a few exceptions.

I live about an hour and 45 minutes away. It’s awesome.
I also live about 10 minutes it’s literally awesome having an annual pass
I just want to say thank you for showing my home park some love. BGT sometimes gets overlooked due to WDW and Universal studios down the road in Orlando, but slowly over time Busch Gardens Tampa has become the thrill park of Florida.
It is such a good park! My 3 trips have been some of my best trips ever when I think about all my trips to parks

Gotta say, I was excited to see Scorpion got a new paint job. It's actually a good coaster that gets overshadowed. As it is my home park, I am glad to know it is not going anywhere. 40 years strong now.
I've been going to Busch Gardens regularly since 1978. It's been a great coaster since 1980, but now that Busch Gardens has a relationship with RMC, I would love to see Scorpion removed and replaced with an RMC Raptor. A Raptor would be an amazing addition to the Timbuktu section of the park and would probably still fit in the footprint of the antiquated Scorpion.
@@rollergoalie16 As long as Scorpion is relocated and not removed. Schwarzkopf Loopers are getting rare, but seem to last forever. Hopefully it lives on, either at BGT or in a new park. I would worry about the Raptor being too low capacity for BG though.
@@rollergoalie16 It would fit there but might seem kind of out of place. Although with Falcons Fury over it maybe not. Either way, they could relocate Scorpion to further back and I would still be happy.

These rides were all first of it’s Kind when it opened. The park likes to have some sort of record for it!! That’s what makes the park so special.
Sorry but Iron Gwazi is a copy cat of a coaster named Twisted Colossus at Six Flags Magic Mountain(CA)
@@m42walker09 Iron Gwazi is not a copy of any ride. None of the hybrids or wooden RMCs can be copies because they are customized to the old wooden coaster it's replacing. Gwazi's original lay out was nothing like Colossus was.

Six Flags Magic Mountain(CA) has had the new steel Twisted Colossus for some time now... this Iron Gwazi is a copycat or made my the same company but Twisted Colossus has all that Iron Gwazi has but x2!! Thats right, side by side double the ride and you get to ride both sides of the track all in one ride. East Coast is just trying to catch up lol 😉
@@m42walker09 Let me see the west coast version of Fury, Lightning Rod, Apollo's Chariot, Afterburn and Montu, Intimidator 305, Kingda Ka (Even though it's not great), Wicked Cyclone, Skyrush, Goliath (SFOG), And hell, even the Hulk. What matches those huh?

@@Miscraft This dude..... the east coast has the best rides in the country. Almost nothing on the west coast can compare. The west has no gigas, the east has 3 now. LOL. I think I heard about a 4th one being planned. It may be a launch though so it may not count
One thing that has me curious about the future of BGT is during an interview with Midway Mayhem, the park president said Iron Gwazi sets the bar a little higher for the future. The way it was said sounded like they already have plans for something that could be coming more sooner than later (in a couple of years maybe). But what sets the bar higher than an RMC? Really makes me excited to see what's next. But for now, I'm beyond excited for Iron Gwazi.
I think they should build a Giga themed after a lion.
If Pantheon works out, I'm thinking they go for it and get the big one, an Intamin giga. Which would be awesome.

A giga is really the only thing missing from BGT at this point. Adding one, be it Intimin or B&M, would make it the best and most well-rounded park around. There's room for one around the edge of the park in the outskirts of the seregenti plains. I believe that, done right, it could be the ride to finally surpass Fury as best steel coaster and make BGT a worldwide destination

My family and I travel to Florida annually and have began going to Busch Gardens. Busch Gardens is gorgeous and going in the off-season is amazing. The lines are so short, the shows are amazing, and the food is pretty good. This last year, Iron Gwazi stood tall, waiting to be finished. I’m so excited for it to be done.
I almost don’t want to watch a single review as to not spoil the experience but then again I’m so tempted😂

Wow this video is amazing. It's so professional, perfectly put together. Thank you. It's exactly how I feel about Busch Gardens Tampa. I'm from the UK many miles away but I feel I've grown up with this park. I first visited as a 10 year old with my parents back in 1992 and I've been back at least 15 times since then. Every holiday to Florida I make sure to visit Busch Gardens. As soon as I spot Montu as we're pulling into the car park, I get that special excited feeling and can't wait to get through the gates once more. I have so many happy memories and I just can't wait to get back one day to ride Iron Gwazi. It looks a beast of a coaster and definitely an Ace 🎢 🇺🇸
Fun Fact: Scorpion is the last of its kind that is in a permanent location (The other is in a traveling fair in Africa last I heard) There are only 2 of it's kind left so, eventually have to close due to lack of parts but it has maybe 5-10 years left in it!

Scorpion is a real classic. Old-fashioned but suprisingly good.
Let me bring you up to speed there... ;-) The "Silver Arrow", which could be considered the little brother to the Looping Star, was built 3 times. One is Scorpion, one is the one in Africa (from what I know it has become a permanent installation in Johannesburg), and the third one opened in a park in Crotia after a complete refurbishment in 2017.
The good thing about Schwarzkopf is that he used mostly off the shelf parts for parts that may need replacement. So even today they are pretty easy on maintenance. Some owners have gone ahead and purchased new trains, as apparently the steel structure is extremely durable (more so than with let's say Arrow coasters of the same age). I have last ridden the original Looping Star (now Silver Bullet at Frontier City) in 2019, and even at 41 years old by that time, it was still great. Or, being from Germany, I have the big advantage of having the chance to Ride Alpina Bahn every once in a while. This ride has been travelling since 1983. Almost 40 years of constant relocation. And still a really great ride.
I am sure Schwarzkopf coasters will still be around for a long time - even the really run down "Dreier Looping" was not scrapped after the accident in Mexico, but will reopen at Indiana Beach after a major overhaul and repair. (Can you tell how much I love those classics?)

BGT is my home park, and I go there once almost every week with my mom. We always have a great time there seeing the animals and going on rides. I remember first hearing about Iron Gwazi and I had to tell my mom about this. Since then, we’ve been keeping up to date with Iron Gwazi, and we really can’t wait to ride it. I have never been on a wood-steel hybrid coaster, but that’s gonna change when I get the opportunity to ride Iron Gwazi

I was there in January and when I walked through the gate and saw that lift hill, the world's jesus christ literally fell out my mouth, the way its so perfectly placed and the angle of it is just so well thought through it actually looks incredible, I cannot wait to get back there next January. I've never been to any theme parks in Florida. I have been to Bush Gardens Williamsburg. I haven't been there since I was a teen and I am 51 now. I think it's time to go back. You are right about trees and flowers make these park so beautiful. Due to a boatload of illness, I would be going at a slower pace and really soak in the park verses the rides so yeah I could really enjoy the parks.
You make the best videos. I love hearing your unique perspective on the subject of your videos. While I was getting burned out listening to a high schooler parody coasters with his eye-patched friend or a middle aged fat guy complain about Starbucks I found your channel. And it was exactly what I needed in the off season. Keep it up dude. Stay away from the gimmicks and do what you do.
I work howl-o-scream every year and last year when they were building it and had a lot of elements up, it looked so good in the back stage and and element near the restaurant is such an awesome sight to see.

I haven’t been to Busch Gardens since I was a kid. I was already extremely hyped for Iron Gwazi, but you’ve got my anticipation up to a whole new level that no other Iron Gwazi video has gotten me too. Plus, you’ve got me realizing how much I’ve been overlooking Busch Gardens’ other rides and it’s definitely more beautiful than I remember it being. Hopefully, we will be able to make it to Florida by the end of the summer.

It’s awesome living about 15 minutes away from this park! I’ve been seeing iron gwazi since they first started retracking. I’ve seen most of their newer rides being built and opening. In fact, before I was into roller coasters I went to this park so much I didn’t want to go anymore lol. But I’m just thrilled for this one I can’t wait any longer!

So I live literally 2 minutes away from Magic Mountain and I've been to BGT quite a few times. My first time in 2002. I took my 8 year old son for the first time to BGT in October 2019 and he has not stopped speaking about it. He is so pissed that we have Magic Mountain and not BGT....haha! He tells me at least once a week we need to move to Tampa. Lol! The park is so pretty and so unique that the experience is unmatched. Cant wait to ride Iron Gwazi this year!

I love how thos video focuses on how BGT was prepping for years to get everything JUST RIGHT for this coaster and then you realize they chose "Iron Gwazi" as the name and themed it to a robotic crocodile. Like there was one dude who didnt get the memo and totally half assed his part.

Living within 10 minutes and having both Busch gardens and adventure island passes is the best part about living in Tampa. If you get to go to this park your whole life like me it's the best get away when you have a free day.

Thanks for showing my home park some love. I grew up visiting BGT (actually went to elementary school right across the street, believe it or not) and it ignited my love for theme parks and made me the enthusiast I am today (Scorpion and Kumba were my first coasters). Busch Gardens is the HOME of Roller coasters.. I'm proud to be just an hour away. Been watching Gwazi from the ground up, these videos are great.. but nothing can compare to how frightening and awe-inspiring Gwazi is. Cheetah Hunt and Montu are the best coasters I've ever been on except Hulk at Universal, but Gwazi will be the trifecta to Busch Gardens. I'm dying for them to drop the open date!!
Also Kumba just got done with update maintenance... So I'm hoping for a refined ride!!

I'm a die hard Intamin fan. I may not have ridden a lot of Intamin coasters, but I haven't ridden one I've hated. I also love Arrow Dynamics. There's just something about that company that makes me appreciate their contributions to the coaster community.

I've been to Williamsburg, and it definitely punches _very_ high above most other parks. Cedar Point is my #1 for attractions, but honestly I'm super tempted to check out Tampa, and have been for a couple years now. This is a great overview, much appreciated!

I rode the old gwazi when it was about to close. They were selling the pictures of the ride with discount. Incluse my mom that it's elderly was there too. Now it will be much better, no shakes and back pain.

Great video, bgt is an hour away. Go there often. It’s been amazing watching iron gwazi go up. It’s amazing to go there and the parking lot is full and you can walk around and not be overly crowded. Sea world is nice too, but it is way more touristy. Way more expensive also

I'm hopefully going to bush gardens for my birthday. I went one time in 2016 and omg BEST PARK EVER! It is like rollercoasters coaster heaven. And I live in Virginia so not that far. I'm praying COVID is hopefully not bad.
@okaycoasters great video of BG Tampa. As a Tampa resident I can’t be more happy that BG is in our backyard and I would rather go to it than any other park. Two quick facts the head BG engineer told my USF class 1. Falcon’s Fury was designed to be like parachuting. 2. Cheetah Hunt was started and designed as an idea to be like riding a Speeder from Star Wars Return of the Jedi. Marketing just rebranded it for obvious reasons.

Sir...you offer the best videos on theme parks out there. HANDS DOWN! Not sure how many park execs have seen your vids but they need to. Your cinematography is killer and the scripts compliment the parks in a manner that just make you have to get out and see it for yourself. My gosh the off season really has sucked this year. The wait for Cedar Point's opening day is always just agonizing. I also have a trip planned for Busch Gardens Williamsburg at the end of April pending that Coronavirus doesn't shut everything down.
BGT is such a wonderful park. I'm about to start working for Busch Gardens Williamsburg as a Verbolten operator and I'm excited for the future of not only both Busch Gardens, but also the SeaWorld chain.
