Skyrush - Worlds Best or Most Painful Coaster (Hersheypark)

- Опубликовано: 14 июл 2024
- Skyrush is a hyper roller coaster located at Hersheypark. It was built by Intamin in 2012. Many people that have rode Skyrush consider it to be one of the best coasters in the world. Others feel the restraint design ruins the experience. Personally i'll take the powerful ride experience over an uncomfortable ride any day but I understand why some people feel different.
Special thanks to Airtime Thrills for working with me on his part at the beginning. If you love coasters and taking road trips his channel is a must watch with all the insight he gives from years of experience.
Thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful day!
Most painful restraints I’ve ever experienced, and yet the coaster is still in my top ten. No, I don’t like pain; I just love this coaster that much despite the pain.
couldnt have said it better myself
@Brooks Kirker Reporting spam.
@Kaiser Edward spambot.
Why dont they change the trains on it?
@@spacemilker9093 I’d guess it’s the expense.
This came out SO GOOD! And I was so mesmerized by the presentation that I forgot how overrated Skyrush was for 8 minutes.
Lmao
I think you just have a lose lose relationship with this ride. If it runs slow, the elements don’t really pop, so it will seem overrated. If it’s flying, you’ll get the full leg pain 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks so much Chris!!! Just wouldn't be a Skyrush video without hearing Airtime Thrills thoughts 😀
@Airtime Thrills I feel attacked
@@SkyrushFanboy you should
The music and editing are phenomenal.
Okaycoasters are always must watch.
Thank You!
@@Okaycoasters Cool video! What's the title of the music you used at time marker 0:56 in this video? Did you get it from Epidemic Sound? I love riding Skyrush! I will be at Hersheypark this year on either Saturday April 10 or Saturday April 17. For me, the year was 2001 when my family and I went to Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky. Back then Kentucky Kingdom was under the Six Flags name. They had an inverted coaster at that park (I forgot the name of that coaster), that was the coaster that I decided to ride that broke my fear of looping roller coasters.
@@Okaycoasters by the way, if you ever need original music for some of your videos, just hit me up, lemme know what style you want that you're looking for and I'll fix you something right up, I've got a little home studio, I'm a songwriter, so... Its kinda what I do lol.
@@JerryBEEWeaver-hz5bg I'll be there the 10th
I'm here from that Airtime Thrills shoutout you mentioned, so glad to be able to enjoy your vids!
Thanks so much for the support!

Well Thank You so much for that compliment!
You forget themepark predictions.
Skyrush definitely opened that door for me! 😍 I've never experienced a coaster that gets my adrenaline going more that Skyrush, yes even more than SteVe! Fantastic video as always!
Yes our first Skyrush answer! My first ride on SV was better but now that I've rode them both so many times I think Skyrush gets me just as excited if not more. SV is amazing tho and gives such a complete experience
Nothing in America beats X2 in generating adrenaline.
Just rode SV for the first time since opening season, with ~100 Skyrush rides in between. I can't pick
Came over from Airtime Thrills, your video editing skills are second to none on RUclips.
Thanks so much for the support!
One of the best enthusiast videos I have seen. The music, editing and narration are top notch. The coaster that opened the door for me was DC Rivals, but my current favourite is Superman Escape, complete with amazing ejector airtime. I've never ridden Skyrush, or any thrill coaster outside Australia, but I can say it's up there in my bucket list.
I like to call the first drop in the back the "double ejector" drop, since you get a good amount of ejector to start with, and then halfway down it hits a kink which turns your already strong ejector into pure insanity. When people say they have trouble putting their hands up on Skyrush, this is why I believe.
Wow.... You are making all these other coaster channels look real bad.... Your videos are very polished and engaging , along with excellent narration. You have raised the bar.
Wow, thanks!
Yet another masterpiece by okaycoasters!
Can’t wait to finally get to the US and experience all those awesome machines!
Thank You!
Skyrush is in my top 10 for a reason and yes I-305 may have opened the door for skyrush. I’ve actually met Airtime Thrills Chris at Kentucky Kingdom last August.
For me it was the Super Italian Bobs at Adventureland outside of Chicago many many years ago. I was a child and one ride and I was hooked forever. I lived for those annual trips, and then they opened Marriott’s Great America and it has gone on from there.
I tell ya, it's one thing to have excellent video editing, and it's another thing to have clever writing. But it's ENTIRELY ANOTHER thing to have excellent video editing AND clever writing! Your videos are so, so consistent in delivering both!
Thank you so much!!!!!!
I have been to this park 5 times, yet the Skyrush credit has eluded me each and every time 😭😭😭
I could not imagine that! Hopefully next trip you will get a ride
Something that impresses me in every video of yours I’ve watched is just the overall quality of everything. Those off ride shots slap.
Thank You!!!
Awesome! As always. Great to have your narration back too.
you dont get airtime like this without your thighs being absolutely stapled to the track
also the quality of this video is top notch skyrush needed the love 🙌
Thank You!!!
I've been impatiently patiently waiting for another OkayCoasters video! Once again great job!! Keep up the great work and please keep the videos coming! Thanks!
Thanks so much for all the support!!!
Bro you’re the best! I watched Chris video when he did the shout out. I literally crave watching you videos with that sick as music and editing! I was so upset when you didn’t post for a few days! Keep it up!
Thank you so much for the support!
I love this love letter to Skyrush. When the park opened a couple weeks ago, I wasn't leaving that park until I got a ride om Skyrush. After getting off, and giggling, I remember why it's my number 1.
Thanks! Yeah its hard for me to leave that park without a few rides on Skyrush
as usual, amazing work! Your videos always make me fall in love with whatever coaster or park you’re talking about
this thing has the strongest forces. strongest airtime. strongest positives. and strongest laterals
You just keep getting better and better with the editing. Stellar job, keep it up!
Thank You!!!
It’s said ride ops can give the “Skyrush special” which involves ride ops taking turns pushing down your bar while they circle you causing a mega staple and a MEGA CRUSH. (P.S. do not bring it up while your in the station, or else they will do it to you!)
@Zacheroni NOOO! ITS NOT WORTH YOUR THEIGHS
@Zacheroni NOOOOOOOO!!!!
Ouch
@@Okaycoasters IKR
Golaith SFGAm opened that door for me! I was nervous at first, but after that first drop I was ready to travel the world to experience something else just as good
I saved this video for two weeks because I knew it was going to be that good. I wasn't wrong. Thanks for all the high quality content. The coaster that hooked me was Wild One at Six Flags America. It showed me that newer isn't always better. I haven't forgotten that lesson.
Can't help but like and comment before even watching haha. Love your content man. You always manage to hit a string with your content. Can't wait to make it over to Hershey one day and decide for myself!
I appreciate that! Im sure you will really enjoy the park!
To a 10 year old, the magnum opening year was the call to the void. Everyone knew they had to ride it but no one expected to survive. It made me obsessed
I love how much you put into producing and editing your vids. Keep up the good work :)
Also I hope I get to ride skyrush one day.
Great work, sir. Love the slow-motion. Love the ride! It's among my favorite coasters at HP (and it has never crushed my thighs).
Shoutout to Phantom’s Revenge for showing me the world of coasters!
For me, it was Taz's Texas Tornado (formerly Thriller), an incredibly intense 4 loop Schwarzkopf that briefly operated at Astroworld. It was exactly the same deal: an intense ride that never seemed to have a line, and was very divisive.
I so wish I could've ridden that. It was SBNO on my visit. It looked so amazing, but all I could do was look at it. I'm happy to have ridden an Ultra Twister, but Texas Tornado is an even more painful SBNO miss for me than Volcano.
@@OklahomaCoasterFan Ultra Twister is a great get, though! Really rare credit, especially these days, and a great ride. Too bad on Taz, though, it really was something special.
(And Volcano... Honestly, thought it was really overrated. Awesome launch, then it just crawled back to the station.)
@@clarinetJWD Thank you for saying that about Volcano. That's exactly what it looked like to me. The Impulse coasters do basically the same launch, just not sending you out the top of a volcano. I still wish I could've ridden it, but I'm pretty sure I would've ranked Taz higher.
LOVE your editing style and content. new subscriber over from Theme Park Media’s Giga Pantheon vid. keep it up!
Thank you so much!!!
You've got a sub from me. Loved this ode to Skyrush; it's my favorite coaster at Hersheypark!
I love your videos!!! Thank you for being the BEST out there!!!
Thanks for the kind words!
Phenomenal video!!! Sooper Dooper Looper at Hersheypark was my first coaster. I was 4 years old. I've been a coaster junkie ever since.
I still can't get over how great your videos are. Amazing camera work, excellent storytelling. 👍
Thank you very much!
The way you edit your videos is very unique. I love it!
Thank You so much I really appreciate it!
Truly an amazing upload.
I305 definitely opened the door to extreme, airtime filled coasters for me. Love the vid.
When you go skydiving and you pull the ripcord, the chute opens and you get yanked upwards painfully. That doesn’t take away the thrill, the rush, you feel.
Same for Skyrush! The most intense, scary, fun coaster I’ve been on. Thanks for the video.
Another solid video!
I never been on Skyrush or to Hersheypark, I had planned on it last summer before everything went nuts. But I'm planning a coaster road trip as soon as I get vaccinated and it's on the list. Keep up the great work. Your videos always make my day.
You are really gonna enjoy HersheyPark. Its a wonderful park. Thanks so much!
Love your videos, brother! Keep it up!
Appreciate it!
I look forward to riding this next year.
Great video and audio quality on this vid. 👍
Thank You!
Another fantastic video as always
Thanks for another beautiful video! I loved the intro and the shout out to Chris. I hope to ride Skyrush for the first time this year. I'm in Canada and I was going to go last year, but that didn't happen. As soon as the border opens I'm there!
Thank You so much!!! Hopefully you will have some good luck riding this year!
Were lucky to have you bro!! You need to do voice over work!!! Thanks airtime for sending me this way!!
Agree with your every word! New you’d love I305! I305 and Maverick did the trick for me!!
Big thighs and I’m good with the crush. The speed lift adds much to first drops 😈🤘
Thank You so much!!!!! Im glad Airtime Thrills sent you!
You just reminded me I haven't ridden I305 in over a year and a half now, that's about to change in May, but anyways, awesome video as always, you're the best coaster editor I know.
Thanks so much Angelo! Its been a long time for me as well but shouldn't be too much longer
The presentation on this channel always surprises me. Ever since I got recommended for it being a "small channel," I've watched every single video that shows up in my recommended. This is a small channel with big channel presentation and it's one that doesn't come off as amateur.
Thank You so much!!!
This is like the skyrush hype video! Makes me want to ride again so bad! Well done! SUBSCRIBED!
Thank You for the support!!!
please..keep the videos coming bro. stellar work
ANOTHER GREAT PRODUCTION.
This coaster is amazing!!! No pain no game!!!! The restraints do hurt a tad, but the awesomeness of this ride makes up for it in every way!
Well said
@@Okaycoasters Thanks!
I find it very ironic that okaycoasters chose the SkyRush review video to be the one where he shouted out Airtime Thrills lol.
I think it was El Toro that opened that door for me. It's been my #1 woodie (even over old Lightning Rod) ever since I started ranking coasters, it always blows me away. Also, I loved AirTimeThrills' involvement in the beginning!
Thank You! Yeah he is great! El Toro is incredible I agree
4:47 All it needs is a contour, which will reduce the thigh crushing. It helped on flying aces, which is as of now the best coaster I have been on alongside Twisted Colossus. Intamin perfected their lap bar design with Flying Aces, but not enough credit is given to them for that.
BTW, this video looks incredible! The editing is wonderful and some amazing shots!
Thanks so much!!!
Wasn’t even going to watch til I saw it was okaycoasters. Mad love to you and Airtime thrills for helping you get where you are!
Thank You!!!!
Great video bro, they get better and better. Maverick was that coaster for me
Thank You and what a great coaster!
Amazing video, I was hooked from the opening 🤤 but for me Iron Rattler was what opened the door.
This video is awesome! Skyrush is my number one and the ejector the speed everything is amazing on this coaster!
Amazing video again🔥
Another of ur vids that give me chills. Nemesis is the coaster that did it for me, I was six ( tall ) and rode on the front row for my first ride, as soon as the helix after the first corkscrew was over something in my brain clicked
Thank You! I cannot wait to ride Nemesis
Wow phenomenal review!!!!
If you see Theme Park Crazy’s last video, you will see that it is indeed ThighCrush. Great video! Keep up the great work!
So happy to finally see a proper love letter to what I personally think is the best roller coaster in the United States.
Awesome video and description of the ride, and how good it is at what it does. The haters had better not have their way. Skyrush is one of the greatest coasters ever made, and no other coaster delivers ejector time like this one. I honestly feel like it's trying to throw me across the park. Too much for some? Hey... sorry it didn't work out for you, but do not change this coaster for 'them'. Do not change a thing. Not the restraints, not the seats, not the color, not the speed of the lift, not anything. ANYTHING. There are other coasters in the park for those who can't handle Skyrush. It's not the ride's fault. It's theirs. Haters stay away.
I like your style dude. Keep up the good work 😊
This was amazing! Love the passion it really made me wanna head to the states and ride this! Love from the UK 👊🏼
Thank You!
Love your vids! Original Lightning Rod opened the door for me
I lied. Third comment. You make some of the best coaster content out there. I always light up when I see that you put something out. You make awesome shit dude. The editing always top notch and you got the VOICE for this
Thank You so much!!!!
I was able to experience skyrush for the first time last year and lets just say i’ll be going all opening weekend to get as many rides on skyrush as I can! It’s truly a gem!!
Manta at seaworld Orlando got me into roller coasters, and this channel is incredible!
Thank You so much! What a great ride!
Another good video you are the man hersheypark is my home park and skyrush is my best coaster
A coaster never really opened that door for me, instead it was a simple curiosity about a meme I saw, I wondered where it came from. Just the simple line "A Powerful Rat, Charles Entertainment Cheese" was enough to bring me to Defunctlands channel. Before that, I always loved theme parks, but never got the chance to go to many as my parents didn't like coasters. I got fascinated by the planning and engineering that goes into these rides, and so now here I am, a born-again thoosie.
The planning and engineering is very interesting I agree!
Can’t wait to see this
I’m telling you, that first drop is one of the best! I’m not sure if it beats toro’s tho! Awesome vid!!
Toro's is so good back seat
@@Okaycoasters it’s insane!
Man this is good I am subbing
Thanks for the support!
Imagine a young gp kid, the anti enthusiast type, stepping in line to one of the great steel giants. The intense music. The blue track. The front row. The fast lift. The 310 foot view. The 300 foot drop. And pure bliss, thereafter. I owe my entire coaster career to Millennium Force
I loved it. First time front left wing seat, hands in the air and i slided a little bit downwards in my chair. I will never forget it. Experience top ten, coaster not but it's a intamin.
Glad to see another fabulous video...even if it’s about “thigh”crush.
Thx for the awesome video. Skyrush is my #1. Hands up the entire time eyes wide open🎢🙌And the restraints don’t bother me at all❤️
Thank You so much!
Rode it a bunch of times today in the back row wing seats and my thighs are fine.. I love it more every time I ride it so much so that i come home and watch videos of it lol... I like the restraints and everything about that ride
Skyrush is life
Fury 325 was the door for me, Carowinds was the first park I visited outside of my HP of SFOG and when I saw Fury in person I couldn’t believe it and that day I rode that incredible ride over 30 times, that drop is to die for and it has so much speed, Fury got me over my fear of coasters for good and set me on a path I’m so glad I started and will keep traveling til the day I die.
Fury is soooo good!
Your edits are fire🔥
Thank You!!!
Getting closer to home.. still waiting on the full Knoebels video and more from Knoebels coasters
Between you and El Toro Ryan I can’t figure out who is better. I mean your intro alone was crazy and how Chris head popped out of the monitor. Really enjoyed this video yet again!
The effects I don’t know how you do yours. You deserve 50k subscribers man
And of course Chris videos are great too. I strive to one day be as good at editing as you guys!

@@Okaycoasters no problem man and you seem like a humble guy! Hope to meet you one day! Take care!
Thank You so much! Hopefully we can get some rides one day! I spent a year trying to get my first 100 subs and will never forget that feeling of releasing a video and getting almost zero views. I’m so thankful for every view, comment, suggestion and person that supports my channel.
The coaster that opens the doors for my love of all coasters is Big Apple in Vegas. Then I rode Sky rush and I was hooked.
The intro is so good! 0:16
Amazing video! Love your vids! :D
Thank you so much!
Artime thrills in the beginning 👏
I305 is my breakthrough coaster, I will always love it
super video, never rode skyrush but after watching im pumped. Unfortunately its down now because of the lift cable and it might be running by the end of the year, best case scenario, from what i hear
I haven’t ridden Skyrush yet but man I finally will at the end of April when I travel to Hershey for the time. Skyrush has been on my bucket list for so long.
Update- So I’ve finally ridden skyrush in April 2021 and man let me tell you, it’s probably the greatest experience I’ve ever had. I personally love the restraints. It’s definitely my #1 coaster.
You really showed the truth to this ride! I just love being tossed around like a ragdoll
By far one of the most polarizing coasters ever. I fall in the middle, but I can see where you're coming from on all your points. I just wish the lapbars didn't crush me like they did. I did like your 'don't @ me' before the lapbar segment🤣
Haha Thank You! I know my opinion is not a very popular one when it comes to the restraints
Ill be there for opening day! So excited
Nice! I know your excited! What a wonderful park
@@Okaycoasters It'll be my first visit too, so there's that😂
Skyrush does one thing and one thing only, violently ejects you from your seat over and over again. It has one of the best drops on Earth. That twist is awesome. I love Skyrush most of the time but when it decides to ratchet down, it can be pretty brutal.
