- Busch Gardens in Williamsburg Virgina is becoming one of my favorite theme parks. Not only do I think that the new for 2020 Roller Coaster Pantheon is gonna be one of the best new coasters of the year but I also think the park does so many things right that are often overlooked. Its the smaller things to me like the huge focus they have on the appearance of the park. The high level of planning that goes into most of the rides, great food and ticket options just so many things. Im aware that some parks may have a better roller coaster lineup and other parks also do a lot of things right but for me it always seems that Busch Gardens has the winning formula for a great day. Most of this also applies to Busch Gardens Tampa as well. Another near perfect park. If you haven't been to Busch Gardens then what are you waiting for? No better year than 2020 !!! Who is excited about the new for 2020 rides Pantheon and Iron Gwazi ???
This is bascially a love letter to an excellent park, I have this in my top 7 but may put it higher in the years to come. Also, CONGRATS on hitting 1k! You deserve it

Williamsburg I can usually enjoy the whole park in 4-6 hours, but always take 2-3 days to fully enjoy Tampa.
This is my home park and it always warms my heart to hear people talk about it in this way :)

I've been coming to BGW while I was still in my mother's womb. One of my favorite places on earth. This year, after so many years of going, I'm going to be an employee. Seeing behind the scenes just makes you appreciate this amazing park even more. Thank you for your video.

@@Okaycoasters I was a team member there for 6 seasons from 2011-2017. Worked most of the rides you mentioned in your video in both operator and supervisory positions. It was definitely a great experience and while most days I had some sort of crazy experiences (see coasteradio's "cast member stories " episode from last year for some of mine) I was so glad I worked there in HS/college.
This was my home park for many years and while I have only been to a handful of other regional theme parks, Busch Gardens still stands tall in my list and to me even can take on the Juggernauts of Disney and Universal with impressiveness. While Curse of DarKastle is no longer there it showed that these regional parks can play with the big boys. Its been a few years since I have been but I often look back at my photos from Busch Gardens be that on my phone or the ones from my dslr. Great video on an amazing park sir.
As one of my home parks, no matter how many other parks I go to it is always my favorite!

I go to Busch Gardens every year, and let me say that I never leave disappointed. Once I step into England and hear the music, a big smile comes on my face, because I know it will be a great day. The theming is one thing that makes this park amazing. They make it seem like you are in that country, and being just as beautiful.

I've been going to Busch Garden Williamsburg since 1990 now and live about 20 minutes away. I visit with my daughter at least 20 times a year and always have a great time. One thing you didn't cover are the great shows this park has year round as well. Halloween and Christmas shows in particular are very entertaining, however their "regular" season shows are fun as well. Having quality shows in a park is very important, as the weather is not always perfect and it takes thousands of visitors off rides which helps with reducing wait times. Food is pretty amazing also and priced decently, mostly because there are so many fast food and restaurants outside the park within a mile or two away. The Trappers Smoke House & Das Festhaus in particular have some of the best park food I've ever had. Great video and commentary, just wanted to point out that Theme Parks often are much more than just the rides :)
I completely agree with everything you listed. I put most of those on the quick list at the end. I’m probably gonna put out a part 2 to finish some of those thoughts. Thank you for the input and I completely agree it’s so much more than just the rides.

Great video! Busch Gardens/Sea World parks provide some of the best all around theme park experiences in the US. Love the videography of your videos and the more laid back approach to narrating. You, Airtime Thrills and El Toro Ryan are my go to channels for Coasters on You Tube.

This is my home park and has been my favorite park to go to since I was 4 years old. I have been to a few others that don't live up to BG. I also work there so I get to see some crazy things. Love the videos. Keep up the great work. Congrats on making it to 1k.

I love this video 😭 And you reminded me why I love and miss the first theme park I ever visited! Something sad I realized about that fact: Every other park (except Hershey) pales in comparison visually! BGW is absolutely gorgeous!!

Not gonna lie, this might be my favorite video from you. My family went to this park every summer for 9 years straight in the mid 90s to early 2000s, and it only got better and better as time went on. I haven't been back since 2015, but just watching this video gets me hyped up to plan my trip for 2022 (2021 has a trip to disney planned, so thats out, lol)
I"ve come back to watch this video multiple times since you've uploaded it, and every time it reminds me of all the love I have for this park.

4:51 when I went there in 2018 I rode the skyride and I almost got sick 😂 I don’t know why but it must have been that the only thing supporting you above a body of water and a speeding roller coaster is a little cable

Busch Gardens is another one of my top favorite parks, and once again you've perfectly summarized everything that makes it great. My family has gone about every 2-4 years since I was 10; we last went probably about 2 years ago and are already talking about going back for Pantheon when the pandemic is over.
Literally the only negative thing I have to say about Busch Gardens is that I and my parents have been upset about them removing Curse of Darkastle. I understand that rides get old if you don't maintain them enough, but it was an amazing and unique family ride and the park is truly lesser without it.
(And since this is relevant because they use basically the same technology, yes I have been on Universal's Spider-Man and yes I adore that ride too.)
I grew up local to this park, and it will always hold a special place in my heart 💕💕💕

Great content! I love Busch Gardens! Definitely gonna try to go on Pantheon's opening day. However, and I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I actually prefer Kings Dominion. I like the coasters and the atmosphere better. It looks like SeaWorld is going crazy with coasters though, and I'm living for it haha. So my opinion may change!

I have season passes to both parks and love both for different reasons. Kings Dominion has a much better Halloween event IMO and some of the best coasters on the east coast. Busch has better shows and is easier on the eyes by far. Kings is getting better over the years, however a lot of rides need to be discontinued like Grizzly & Anaconda which are way past their prime and just beats the hell out of you. Still sad they took out Volcano as it was one of my favorite launch coasters, hope they replace it with something amazing.
The rides at kings dominion are fun but it’s just so ugly to look at. It’s all flat, concrete, cheap or no theming, and lots of commercial branding. It’s not a bad park, but I much prefer the back in the woods, terrain hugging, waterfally, well themed atmosphere of Busch. Also volcano was the best ride there and I’m gutted they tore it down
@@yeemcgee8149 Curious if you have been it Kings in the last few years. Been going to both parks for over 30 years now and since Cedar Fair acquired Kings Dominion in 2007 it's been slowly improving, especially since 2014. I still prefer the beauty of Busch, however KD is getting better IMO.
I love your videography man. That alone makes this a first-class channel. Add to that some very good writing and you're top-3 material among coaster channels. I can't decide where exactly.

This was my home park back in the mid 70s - late 80s. My first ride on a steel coaster was actually on Nessie a month after it opened. Sadly my last visit to the park was in 1990 but I will hopefully get back again soon.

Busch gardens has always been in my backyard. Rides and gardens are awesome but the one thing that stands out to me unlike most amusement parks is the food!!! No I’m not fat but Busch gardens Williamsburg has awesome food!!! Along with good rides and gardens 😊👍🏻
Definitely agree! Six Flags tends to lack in upkeep and customer service where Busch Gardens exceeds greatly in those areas. I'm approaching my 100th roller coaster and hoping to make Iron Gwazi and/or Pantheon a part of that journey!

Busch Gardens is right between King's Dominion and Disney World in my eyes. It has proper rides for those who want a fun thrill, but also a huge dedication to theming that immerses you in its European motif. (I've only been to Williamsburg so that's at least my take on that park).

I think Busch Gardens Williamsburg is better than Tampa's Busch Gardens. Even though Tampa has more animals. Its a whole different feel for me in Europe. The buildings, flowers, lay out, The rhine river, the forest, the food, the rides. The smell. I can go on and on with this park. I think its better than cedar point. It just needs Giga coaster, a few good unique flat rides and a good 350 ft. drop tower like the ones at Kings Island and Dominion. And it will be better than Cedar point. They are going in the right direction, keep adding new rides every year busch gardens. I know you can do it.

If I walk into Busch gardens Williamsburg one day and don't hear the chain lift clanging away over the bagpipes, long before i can see nessie, it will be a sad day. I get nostalgic every time I enter the park and take a right towards Scotland.

From the first time I set foot in this park (15 years ago) it was instantly my favorite park. It still remains to be that to this day. It's literally like an entirely different world.

another plus is one free admittance per year if you're AD military. I went to Busch Gardens Tampa many times for FREE while stationed in Florida. What an amazing place! Super upset I left Florida before Iron Gwazi was finished. can't wait to visit Williamsburg one day

I've been watching a lot of youtube videos the last couple of years, especially ones relating to theme parks and coasters. I don't typically make comments directly to the producer, but I truly hope you're making some money off of these and are working in some capacity in the entertainment industry. Your videos are smooth, clear and capture more than just the picture...you capture the essence of the subject matter. Your delivery on the narration is funny, intriguing and your little blurbs/comments at the end make me want to binge watch your series. Great job! Now, let me get back to binge watching your vids.

SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment's dedication to quality is absolutely mind blowing. Every coaster is at least of good quality (with the exception of slip-ups like the OG Gwazi, which was even still a good ride before it became unbearable). While a place like Disney may have stellar theming and appearance, and places like the Cedar Fair parks are really good at providing consistent thrills, few achieve the almost zen balance that the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks provide. I'm proud to call Busch Gardens Tampa my home park, and I will always stick by it as one of the best parks in the world.

Thank you. I just enjoy so many different types of coasters that my favorite seem to be any that are built with a lot of planning and follow the natural terrain of a park or have very rare elements. Even tho Verbolten is not one of my favorite rides the way the park had it follow so much of Big Bad Wolf's original layout makes it great to me
My home park! I also work here. I genuinely love this park. I know Disney and Universal are much more important on paper, but this is my favorite work of all time.

Happened to come here the weekend that Big Bad Wolf closed. Got some epic rides there and had a wonderful time in the park. It’s my favorite park, even though it only had a few coasters compared with Cedar Point or Kings Island. Funny how it’s grown so much. I remember reading Guide to Ride in the early 90s and the environment appealed as much as the coasters. Why can’t all parks be like this?

You should have included Big Bad Wolf in Tier 3. It's Verbolten's cooler, badder, older brother. I don't think I'll ever forgive them for taking it down when they could have filled the hole left by Drachen Fire instead.
One of the things i love about Sea World/ Busch Gardens parks is that even though the coaster count for each park is on the low end compared to their competition (not Disney or Universal), they have consistently highly rated mostly entirely original rides, with very few clones. Then they put is some absolutely stunning landscaping around the coaster. Universal and Disney is mostly dark rides or simulator rides of some kind or another, with a very small coaster selection, so i dont place them in the same category as Six Flags or Cedar Fair, or even the smaller family parks across the country.

This is very true I use to go to geauga lake and it was a beautiful park until cedar fair destroyed it now I got to go to cedar point and it's a dull concrete wastland looking park with big rides but it's not a happy looking place scenery makes a difference
