    I have come to expect excellent videography from you, but in this video, I absolutely love your opening commentary! “Why do we ride coasters? Is it for the giga status? The fear of not being in control? Or the air time? Do you prefer floater or ejector, because I love both. Maybe it’s the speed ... or being upside down? Is it the wood structure, popping and shaking under you? Or that insane launch that smashes you into the seat, giving you tunnel vision? Perhaps you’re just looking to have a great day with your friends. But if you’re anything like me, you’re searching for the next coaster that can bring it so hard, all you can do is hold on for your life!” Yepper, I had to write that one down for myself!

    SkyRush is the only ride that I literally thought I was going to fly out of. Made me put my hands down and hold on real quick. So intensely crazy. To this day I hold on when riding it. To put it into perspective, I've been on over 500 coasters. SkyRush is insane.

    I rode the voyage with my dad last year. My dad and I drove 6 hours from Chicago to Santa Clause Indiana just for 3 coasters (legend was closed for early maintence). Once we got close to the park we saw a billboard for Holiday World and I knew My dreams were coming true. A minute later we say the skyline it wasn't as grand as Great America's but I knew I was in for a treat. Once we got to the park and entered the Thanksgiving plaza we saw the lift hill for the legendary Voyage. I thought it looked giant but my dad thought it looked average. We went into the line and may dad pointed out that there were many kids in the line and that it probably is tamer than I think and that I would be disappointed though he would regret those words. Soon we got into the station and waited for the back row. Once we got in the train my dad noted the padding and said it was too squishy. I on the other hand am grateful for it as The Voyage would be unrideable for me without it. Once we got out of the station my dad realized what he walked into. He was absolutely petrified and the higher we got up the lift the more he was. Once we went down the drop I knew I was caught off guard as well. I've ridden the American Eagle and that has a similar speed to the Voyage though I swear that Voyage felt twice as fast. The initial hills offered sustained and strong floater and slammed me back into seat in the valleys, the twister section had great ejector airtime and the best laterals I've experienced, and the return run didn't have a tame element until the brakes. That was the last coaster my dad ever rode. The whole time he was screaming, cursing and telling me to put my arms down while I was having a blast. Still even I needed a break as there was no way my body would let me ride twice in a row. I rode Thunderbird and Raven after that but my dad was fine skipping it. I rode voyage a second time in the front and enjoyed it more cause I knew what to expect though my dad was fine sitting it out as well. I have an on ride photo of my dad and I on the Voyage and you can tell how my dads doing just by looking at it. I also rode Voyage on a 60 degree fall day so there's no doubt it'll be wilder on a hot summer day.
    PS sorry for the long comment.

    I recently went to Kings Island for my very first time ever. I think it's a great park. I rode all the coasters besides the kiddie coaster and family coaster. I absolutely agree with you regarding the beast but unfortunately for me, I didn't get a chance to ride at night due to the park closing at 8pm. Let's get to the point. My comment is about a rollercoaster that caused me to hold on tight. If you haven't guessed by now, the ride I'm talking about is Mystic Timbers!! MT completely took me by surprise. I had a front seat and back seat ride. Both are great but the front seat is absolutely amazing and although it's a relatively short ride, it brings the intensity. Until I'm able to ride I305, MT is probably the most intense ride I've ever ridden along with Maverick and Top Thrill Dragster. Great video as usual. Keep up the good work.

    You gotta ride Intimidator 305 in the dark. It’s amazing. While you’re there ride Grizzly at night too. Kings Dominion is best visited the week before Labor Day. It’s never crowded because teachers are back in school prepping and the sun sets a little earlier so you can get some good rides in at night.

    Jackrabbit at Kennywood still scares me more than anything built in the last 50 years. Hard to believe that's never thrown someone to their death. I305 is ridiculous too. Before they modded the turn it made me grey out hard every time even with the braked drop.

    Just recently found your videos and you by far make the best coaster videos. My home park is Hershey and favorite coaster is skyrush back row wing seat with hands reaching for the sky from the station to the brakes and love it more every time I ride with over 20 rides so far this year

    Ok with the beast the only part that REALLY gets me is that first drop going into that tunnel. I'm gonna conquer that eventually but even past that the night ride on it should definitely be on everyone's bucket list. And if u want real fear on it ride left seat front row. Just seeing that tunnel wall coming at u and how hard u enter that helix makes u feel like ur gonna hit that wall haha

    I have had exactly one ride where I have nearly fallen out: a Boulder Dash run in August 2017. By this point in the day and season, the ops had stopped actually checking restraints (which is a big issue) and were just giving a quick tug to ensure it had actually locked. I'm pretty skinny, and my lap bar on this run was above the position of a normal buzz bar (I was pushing the limits to see how much room I could get away with). The first double-up nearly made me become a statistic.
    Suffice it to say, I was more careful from that point on. (This was also the season that they crashed the BD trains together when trying to add the second train, which would be pretty funny if it didn't mean massive downtime.)

    • @alaeriia01
      @alaeriia01 4 года назад

      Yes, this was a combination of me being stupid and the ops being stupid, and thankfully I had the presence of mind to move the lap bar down a notch after that. I had ridden Dash well over 150 times that year, and this was the only time I felt unsafe on it.

    Im glad you have the opinion about Twister Timbers! Youre first person besides my girlfriend that can at least think it can actually compete with Steel Vengeance. I personally love twisted timber better :p those 3 air hills are to die for.
    --
    Skyrush is the only ride where I was genuinely scared of falling out. Those restraints, yes painful, cause me to have a huge gap between my butt and the back of the seat, or that gap is from my waist to my mid thigh. No matter how much the employees clamp me, it feels like I could fall out.. in addition to the pain lol
    I look for rides that actually scare me.. but with the pain and the wrong type of fear, unfortunately Im not a fan of skyrush.

    My favorite coaster: Millenium Force The best coaster I've ever ridden: Steel Vengeance. Thankfully they are both in the same park. Ironically the worst coaster I've ever ridden was Mean Streak. Funny how that worked out. Oh and I've never met a coaster that made me hold on.
