    Well that's cool! All these years, I've never thought about putting drawers under my shelves. I really like that idea! Thanks Shara for thinking outside the box! Actually, I guess that's a box within a box. Have a great weekend!

      Haha i always say drawers are just boxes inside boxes 🤣 it’s a simple concept haha. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and the project! Maybe it will inspire the addition of drawers in more unexpected places 😉 have a great weekend!

    Shara, I love this design! I purchased and downloaded the plans and made this bookcase. One thing I added was to place cleats on the second drawer from the top to hold a removable sheet of then plywood flush with the top edge of the draw box. This allows me to use this drawer as a standing work surface for looking at books or albums from the shelves. Thank you for inspiring me to build these shelves!

    I love it! I need to build a shelf for all of our games and puzzles and love the idea of adding drawers. You must be fast because it looks like you were wearing the same shorts and shirt through most of the project. Also, please wear some knee pads when you're on the concrete. I'm sure you're not on your knees a lot but it still worries me. Now I need to check out your drawer videos. I've never built one. Thanks for the great video!

    I've had people ask me for built-ins with beefy looking shelves, and I've never even thought about putting a drawer there. What a great idea! The visual heft added by the thick shelves is really impactful. I love it!

    • @christophermckinney984

      @@WoodshopDiaries I would offer to help you make it three weeks in a row by offering motivational speeches, words of wisdom, examples of what not to do, and things like that, but you’d have to spill the beans on what the next project is! Actually, you could always cut down on production time by not editing out your “words are hard” moments, which I haven’t caught any lately, and strangely, I kind of miss. This could really be a time saver, especially if, like me, you get more tongue tied the more serious you try to be! 😉 😂
      Anyway, love the last two projects of this guest room furniture, and I’m really curious to see what else you have in store for us. This is mostly because you make the projects look so good while still keeping them straightforward and simple enough for us, less talented people than yourself, to not just try, but to reasonably expect to mimic.
      Keep up the good work Shara, and keep sharing! (sorry, I couldn’t refuse the pun!). You rock!

    That turned out super nice Shara! I love the idea of the hidden drawers. I bet Lucy will use the bottom drawers to hide her doggie treats in! Had to chuckle at your comment about it being too hot there. It's 112 degrees here today (Scottsdale, AZ) but we don't have the humidity and that makes a huge difference. Thanks for another great video!

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  2 года назад

      Lucy would hide all the things in the drawers. She likes to hide her half-chewed bones in the dirt in the yard 🙃 They'd stay a little cleaner in a drawer haha. 112 degrees is CRAZY! Ours has been getting up to about 100, but that humidity has been pretty bad some days. Stay cool out there! Hopefully fall comes quickly :)

    Hey Shara, that piece of wood you cover the back of your cabinet with. You said it was a 3/4" sheet of plywood. Just so you know. Also, impressive build, I love how your projects are so outside the box. Or outside the cabinet box, I should say! Lol. Nice work, Thanks for another great video. Take care.

      @@WoodshopDiaries ah lol. I guess it would help if I read those descriptions. Lol I look it the descriptions all the time. However I generally don't read through all of them. But I'm gonna start trying to. Thanks and sorry about that. I just pointed it out, in case you wanted to add a tag in the video correcting yourself.. not for any other reason.. but you've got it. I'll be quiet now. Lol

    I love how this turned out! How long did it take altogether to build this?

      About a day and a half…filming makes everything take ten times as long as it should.
