Wow, me and my friend were having some real problems creating a bootable windows 10 USB just a couple of days ago 'cause we need it for some school "exam software" which is basically just spyware that doesn't work on Linux. Tried to do it from his already windows laptop as I'd think it would be easiest making something windows from windows, but Windows2go is no longer supported and Rufus just broke halfway through. I guess it could be because his Windows was just ripping itself to shreds for some unknown reason, and it no longer boots into windows. Great to see that Linux is better at Windows than Windows itself. Thanks!
Microsoft has a media creation tool that makes bootable windows 10 usb. I'd suggest using theirs in the future or rufus if you have an ISO.
@@sean7949 Their official one is no longer supported for Windows to go and we were trying it with Rufus which failed.
@@24wherath36 ah gotcha
What "exam software"? If I'm allowed to ask, that is. I'm just curious.
@@nano_dank, it's usually proprietary stuff that monitors webcam and application activity in a feeble attempt to ensure that exam candidates aren't cheating whilst taking the exam.
You missed the chance to call it "Windows 10 Bloatable USB"
Linux is more bloated but sure

Wasn't thinking of running Windows this way after my rig finally committed unlife, but hey.
Always glad to learn of a new tool to get the job done, so even though I won't it was a good watch. Cheers
shocked rufus hasn't gotten a native linux port by now
There's already many alternatives such as UNetBootin and Etcher so I suppose the devs are too lazy to port Rufus on Linux because of it.
It's built on a truckload of proprietary Windows stuff to optimize it's performance when burning a USB image. It's optimized and designed solely and exclusively for Windows, meaning that a Linux port wouldn't fit the niche of Rufus.
That's fine, I guess. There's loads of other apps available on Linux for burning OS images, many of which are reasonably well optimized for Linux.

@@juuamjskn2420 doesn't work for windows images
Thank you so much for saving me from the pain i went through until now
I 100% was not expecting this
As others mentioned, Ventoy is a good tool for booting multiple ISO files off of one USB device. Personally I use Ventoy on an external HDD, it has around 750 GB of total space. I went overkill just for fun, but either way it functions perfectly.
Thanks I needed this to pwn my window using friends with the util man exploit
Thanks every other guide was for ubuntu and was completely useless for me. You'd think microsoft would want to make it easy for people to get windows on their systems but whatever. Appreciated
WoeUSB is the only program that works, but last time I used it it took like 2 hours to create the bootable usb.
I had to do that back in day when I sold my gaymen pc to a coworker. So I had to figure it out because the only machine I have is a linux laptop now. Your video could have been helpful, thanks for sharing!
It worked, thanks. I installed woeusb from pacman and it worked right out of the box
just use lsblk for the fdisk -l thing, however great video; worked for me.
I dual boot w/ Windows 7 because it has features that neither linux nor Windows 10 have or can ever have. Internet Explorer backwards compatibility. TLS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 support, and SSL 2.0 and 3.0 support individually. Also Bitlocker on Ultimate is better than Windows 10 because it doesn't glow nearly as much with full offline functionality
Woeusb is nice though. I would recommend buying seperate usb and flashing windows on it before installing linux on it. But woeusb should work for creating a bootable windows usb.
I have two usb drives for linux and windows.
Edited: Ventoy is a great tool to have seperate linux and windows iso in one usb. You don need to buy seperate usb for each image. Ventoy would have saved by money to do that then, then again usbs are dirt cheap.
Thanks dude!
Day 4. Please make a video about nas and home security system
Bro I love your videos it has inspired me to learn python , thanks alot...
It's out of context but it doesn't matter to me...
You can compile your python programs (with cython) to make them run faster
@flim I personally dislike Python, but to be fair, it has some uses. It’s C/C++ libraries allow it to be a an easy language for ML for many people.

LLNUX
cause hes based and uses caps lock instead of shift
DBAN does a good job of breaking systems too, way less effort to get it onto a usb stick too :p
Thanks a lot, I need to install windows to use some school software, but making a windows bootable device is just a pain. I used dd command like how i create a bootable device for linux, but it doesn't work
literally 2 days ago, i had to get a bootable USB so I could dual boot in order to run destiny 2 and it took me a day and a half to get a working usb
2 hours hm? its takin me a damn day and still havent figured it out awe fuck wrong comment

Hey Mental Outlaw I just wondert if you know about Windows-AME and if yes what do you think about it ? For something like a VM or Boot-USB
I accidentally installed arch, how do I get windows back
good one
the trick is to stick with Arch.
Good luck big man
@@terrorist1750 dude, I just installed arch because I can't boot to Windows 10 unbootable drive
@@fikrirahmatnurhidayat4988 same issue but installed mint which is not booting directly too tried bootup options n all nothing works
Why do linux users make windows out to be so bad, ive literally used it for a day and the bugs are so not worth it, you have to download so many addons and little things just to make it bearable to the point where when it becomes stable, its basically as resource intensive as windows, and if your arguement is oh but i dont want windows stealing all my data or i dont want constant updates with unnecessary things downloading without my permission, well there is a fucking cfg file, literally one file that you run that takes all of that away so why are these people so fucking upset with windows when the problem they have with windows they either have worse problems on linux or the problems can be fixed by running one file in the console
this. the reason im switching back to windows is that every time i want to build something or install a thing, i run an update/upgrade command then the next thing i wake up into is the recovery mode trying to re-enable the ethernet and then assign an ip just to be able to update the nvidia drivers so i can no longer receive the ipmi:dmi error and run a game for once
Can you make a guide on how to do this within Steam OS? Kind of at a loss, I don't think those dependencies exist within Steam OS, and it's an immutable file system so I can't do much outside of Flatpak.
Thanks
Do people who use linux just have an aversion to GUI?
Two days ago, I dd'ed the windows 10 ISO, because I want to try to live without linux for one month.
It didn't work of course. Luckily, I wiped all my flash drive, my external drive to be NTFS or FAT32. And also, before I boot, I accidentally run grub-install because I want to run update-grub, since my grub doesn't detect new kernel, and boom, I couldn't boot to anything.
holy shit theres no videos on this subject yet mental out law has one lets fucking go
Winbloat let's go!
This sadly doesnt work for me i just get an error that woeusb wasnt able to mount my usb
maybe you could do a video on windows 10 AME
Is there any way I can make my pendrive compatible to windows as well as linux for file transfer ?
Is windows 8.1 better than windows 10 with everything striped down?
AME is the best Windows 10 version for privacy
Can you do a Temple OS Bootable USB?
Hey are you psychic because I've been looking how to do this?
why dd utility wouldn't suffice?
I got /dev/sdb2 error when doing with woe
Whenever I have to install windows I run a script from GitHub that disables Cortana one drive and all telemetry and blocks windows telemetry form starting up again. Then I can actually do things in it.

there are no lines on the github page that i can copypaste what a nightmare.
I forgot we the people could do this

there is also a gui version of this program, and is just has easy to use, just in case you are afraid of the terminal or just like guis
Currently the gui version only supports FAT32 even though the gui has a button to select ntfs it does NOT work at this time. See woeusb author wiki github.com/WoeUSB/WoeUSB/wiki/

manjaro, i know it's a terminal lmao but i meant that as in 'you just made me switch to linux, now you makin videos about how to create a windows 10 bootable usb
@@trapccountant there are a small amount of cases where you MAY need windows certain apps, like exam software (you can cloak a VM,but sacrificing an old laptop to botnet slowness is easier.) or you may need to use adobe
@@ananon5771 Honestly, running a Win10 VM would be better than installing it onto bare metal. At least the spying is more contained that way (hypothetically speaking).
@@trapccountant Bro I 'must' switch to windows back because I'm a gaming content creator (not this acc) and I must use some specific tools and features that is only available in windows. Also fricking nvidia doesn't allow gpu voltage control on linux, so I can't make gpu undervolt. Unfortunately I'm switching back to windows now :/
Yes.
the unnecessary updates, how to get rid?
Yall can say whatever you want about windows, but atleast booting a linux iso img is easier on windows than booting a windows usb iso image on linux. I hate this...
Mental outlaw? More like my metal in-laws.
There is a gui version of woeusb. isn't there?
yep, there is gui version of woeusb.
Is that Mint or a Mint theme? What happened to Gentoo?
I run both, Gentoo is installed on my 1tb ssd
whats the difference between using this program and dd?
dd copies the image exactly byte for byte onto the usb which works fine for linux, but it doesn't make partitions, etc that you need for windows to work
Yeah but sometimes (at least for me) when I used the live ubuntu cd running ubuntu not installed I installed etcher and woe usb couldn't be installed (running the live cd because ubuntu installation crashed and grub didn't install. Tried to go back to windows regretting installing linux but I'm all fine with manjaro now) And I successfully flashed it but it showed an error at the start. I had to do a pretty interesting experiment and it worked and I could install windows
It is only for gaming! Kenny take that gun away from me!
I've never been able to get WoeUSB to work. I just format as fat, drop the files on myself, and use whatever that app is called that compresses this one file that's over 4gb. I'm pretty sure it only works for UEFI though.
Given Bottles is incomprehensible .. I'm a masocist
dd, nuff said.
Edit: Oh, I get it, this was a sophisticated rick-roll
dd doesn't work with Windows 10 ISOs
@@hermannpaschulke1583 Really? I didn't know that. I've been a 100% Linux (and FreeBSD) user the last 20 years here, besides a virtual machine here and there.
dd bloat, according to arch wiki at least
@@behradh No, dd is not bloat. 75K and no dependencies is hardly bloat, and it belongs to coreutils, hence almost always installed on your system anyway.
What do you suggest instead of dd? You should always tell what is better if you complain on something.
@@DrZingo_ I was not complaining about dd perse, I was mostly making a joke, but if you're curious I can direct you to said arch wiki that generally advises against dd but doesn't prohibit it

Balena Etcher is also wonderful
I just want my internet working again
You can actually just straight up make a USB partition as NTFS then copy the ISO files.
Just make sure you boot it in BIOS mode and not EFI or it'll shit itself and not load any drivers.
step 1: don't
Window sucks, I've just recently set up a Linux laptop and I go out everyday and turn it on just to look at it because it's not Windows.
Ventoy brother
After you linux users wouldn't shut up about it, i tried it and it was ok, but anything went wrong ive gotta spend 1-2hours looking through forums and youtube vids finding out how to do something thats so basic in windows. At least windows users use the computer, not spending half the time troubleshooting

do you really have to learn every fucking mouse click in linux?
why isn't there just a tool like wintousb where I only have to click next 3 times? there is simply no simple tool
If I'm in a hurry and need a stick NOW, I don't have any nerves to sit with the console for half an hour. this sucks so hard... i dont want to lern that shit i need my stick NOW

haha the windows-shaming is so funny
I have multiple pcs can i just nuke the fuck out of linux with some kind of formatting the main boot drive i already have a windows 10 system made on another windows system
heresy
Here before any dislikes.
just use "sudo dd if=win10.iso of=/dev/sdb" whatever your iso is called and whatever device your usbdrive is
earlier that wasn't possible, but last 2 times it worked with windows 10 isos
Btw, if you happen to have Linux Mint, there already is the USB Image Writer program (with GUI) available in the Accessories menu.
doesn't work for making windows usbs

How to create Linux bootable USB from Windows 10
But wait! There's a problem in your video:
The Official Windows 10 image comes in a .exe file, not an image file, as it's an auto-installer that creates a bootable Windows 10 USB. Unless you're able to extract the image file from the .exe file (which could be possible), you'll need to run Wine.
This isn't true. Microsoft's page for downloading an ISO will serve you different versions depending on if you're currently running Windows or not. If you're not running Windows you'll be given a download link for their mediacreationtool (which you've found), if not, you'll be able to request a download link for the image as demonstrated.
@@Matthewnop_
Oh... That's interesting. It must have been one of those hidden in plain sight links that a bunch of companies keep doing.
Some AAA games works even better on linux Wine/Proton then Windows :D
Linux makes me want to rip my own face off. Just merely installing programs is a damn nightmare.
Copy ISO contents to fat32 formatted drive, copy contents of /efi/microsoft/boot to /efi/boot. Drive is now UEFI bootable.
but the install.wim is too large (more than 4gb)
@@notbdour Yeah, this was when the install.wim for Windows 10 was just under 4GBs. I'm not sure if it works with earlier versions of windows, but with Windows 11 you can do the same process with an NTFS formatted drive.
second
This is a nightmare. I should never have been install linux
Agreed
I’m probably not going to be your favorite person with this comment. Linux is great and there is a version for every one. Most people that don’t like it are either way to lazy to learn something new and how it works or majority is that you heard about one of the major distributions only and not one of the beginner versions and got that instead of doing research. Worst of all is the third reason, which is you think you know everything so you just knew you could run the big boy Linux first try with no issues😂🤷🏼♂️ with that being said I run both bc gaming is possible on Linux but easier on Windows, that’s the only thing I run Windows for is gaming
