I was trying so many ways to get something working with a .iso, but it seems like everyone was going the route of using a Windows to Go image and I feel like people aren't understanding the risks to that. So I was able to make a tutorial vid based on the information you provided here. thank you man I installed arch over windows, new to linux and I was LOST. all the other videos I found it felt like it was just an excuse to show off how customized their Arch is like it was a dick size competition, never ending rambling etc. I was worried when you used neofetch to show off your specs and such I was like, Oh great another guy. then seconds later you just get down to it, so thanks a lot. Ridiculous I can't play Destiny 2 on linux yet, otherwise I would probably stay on Arch fully, I'm liking it so far.

for those getting confused with the sda1/sdb1 etc you need to flash it in sda or sdb not sda1 or sdb1 as those are sub volumes and woeusb wont flash windows on subvolumes.
@@isouravgopet is saying the same for me except sdc1 Solved: Make sure you format your drive so that there is no partitions just free space (Im a newb but this may help other newbs)
I had windows installed on my laptop then I installed Arch. I want to make a Dual Boot now. Do you know if my windows key is signed to my BIOS still? Also, will I be able to shrink Arch partition so I can add Win11?
From what I understand you should just be able to install Windows 11 just fine because of that, If you want to duel boot I suggest using gparted to make the partition of your arch install smaller so you have free space and use the free space to install windows but I would be careful because I haven't tried this and I don't want to brick your install lol.
If you still get any issue then download the wimlib from pkgs.org archlinux.pkgs.org/rolling/archlinux-community-x86_64/wimlib-1.13.6-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst.html And install it using, "sudo pacman -U wimlib-*.zst"

sda is for hard drive are you trying to flash the windows iso in harddisk instead of usb drive ?

I had the same problem too. Try/dev/sda
Probably because your USB drive is mounted. Unmount it before you use woeusb.
It is telling me cannot find the fakeroot binary when i type makepkg -si
You are using arch ?

What I do normally is first install windows then in windows make the partition smaller then install Linux and that works fine.
