    In the US, at least where I live, it is also illegal to film or photograph inside the polling place. I believe the rule is to help ensure privacy for those who are voting. @@StrigoiVampire correct, the burning of something is a human tradition that predates religions, when people only believed in symbolism. A fire indicates transition and renewal, simply because that's exactly what it does. So burning something that symbolizes a time period, means that people are transitioning to the next time. In my city, we do it at the end of the 40 darkest days of the year (so we don't need actual winters or spring, hahaha) and we too burn a doll. In Germany they burn Christmas trees in huge organized bonfires. It's amazing to be in Bavaria on that night and see the fires of dozens of villages around from a hilltop.

  • @romanzavsegolov4925

    The problem is that there is no really good alternative. We, who lived through shitstorm of 90-s with all the "liberal democrats" wreaking havoc around the country, with economy falling apart, fantastic hyperinflation speeding up, a lot of street crime, gangs of gopniks and nazis in the streets - we don't want it back. Those kids who were born since 1999 believe that we - people who think conservatively and who are not fond of pro-western opposition - so we are somehow braiwashed, afraid or just narrow-minded. But we also were young and had great ideas on how world should be organized. Once you've grown older though, you start to realize how naive and shallow were opinions back in your youth.
    My family is experiencing third war as a result of USSR collapse. First one was the Tajikistan civil war - where from we fled after collapse of Soviet Union, orcestrated by "Liberal Democrats". We fled from the local nationalist forces who were advancing and killing everyone, especially ethnical Russians. Then my uncle got conscripted to Chechnia war. Now I live near the Ukraine border and experience for last 10 years the more and more outcomes of a ethnical civil war going there. There is also a never-ending ongoing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaidjan, and growing nationalist contradictions in the Baltic countries. All of mentioned - the direct results of "progressive and liberal policies" of late 80-s and 90-s.
    Therefore, we, adult and senior Russians, will not even think about voting for the “opposition” unless we are forced to do so by violence.

      Почему вы в этом видите проблему? Пресловутая "сменяемость власти" нужна для того, чтобы неэффективный руководитель передавал управление более эффективному. Кто будет менять в здравом уме директора быстрорастущего завода? Когда появится человек, который будет предлагать что-то более интересное для народа, чем Путин народ начнет голосовать за него. Оппозиция же а-ля Навальный представляет только одну программу - скинуть Путина, а там посмотрим. Россия уже насмотрелась в 90-е и ей хватило надолго...

    • @romanzavsegolov4925
      @romanzavsegolov4925 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@КайгородовВасилий Именно. Сменить работающее на "любое другое" потому что "сменяемость важнее" - это какой-то культово-религиозный фетиш, а не демократический подход. Если народ хочет кого-то видеть президентом, то кто ему может это запретить? Конституция? Большинство населения в 60-80% могут своим голосованием изменить конституцию. Она у нас принята населением, а не написана отцами-основателями 300 лет назад.
      Странно, что в США президент с 45% поддержки, а в Европе премьер с 25-35% поддержки - демократы, а в России президент с 60-80% - диктатор. В США безальтернативный выбор между двумя кандидатами от парламентских партий, в России - между четырьмя кандидатами от парламентских партий. Но первое - демократия, а второе - тоталитаризм. Что?!🙄

    • @КайгородовВасилий
      @КайгородовВасилий 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@romanzavsegolov4925 Да у нас и в целом в мире привыкли считать эталоном демократии то, что принято на западе. Хотя на проверку на западе власть захватили транснациональные корпорации и предлагают на выбор своих разных представителей, программа которых ничем по сути не отличается, а если отличается, то сразу меняется после выборов. В итоге представителя с программой, отражающего желания большинства в принципе появиться не может. И печальнее всего, что этой транснациональной элите абсолютно плевать на народ и если они принимают решение уничтожить ту или иную страну, то руководители этих стран моментально это радостно делают. Вот и вся демократия.

    We have a much better system here in the US.
    We have counties where 110% of the registered voters voted. We have dead people voting In both Michigan and Illinois - thousands of them climbed out of the grave for the election . In Pennsylvania, the ex-world boxing champion George Fraiser's father voted twice and he's been dead for over 20 years.
    If you were in California as a top secret Russian agent , you get a drivers license and vote for Biden and then go to the consulate and vote for Putin. Now that's something you cannot do in Russia, even if you are in the FSB with a red star hero medal and matching fur hat . Mark Twain said it best over 100 years ago; "If voting mattered, they won't let you do it"

Знающих "что было до" - просто больше. Продолжай голосовать, твой голос значит очень многое для страны. Вскоре твоих станет больше. I've been working at the polling station since 2015 and at school since 2009. From my own experience, I can assure you that no one forces you to vote for Putin or any specific candidate. While your “bosses” may encourage voting, for example to come to the polling stations, you can always say that it’s none of anyone’s business, and it’s against the law. Also, I participate in vote counting at the end of election days, and our school's results have consistently mirrored the general outcome. And as for taking photos and videos at our polling station, people freely take photos and videos without any issues, Maybe it varies from place to place. I'm from Saint Petersburg, by the way. And yeah, I voted for Putin, no surprises there. Born in '86, I lived through the '90s, so I've seen the progress firsthand. Nesty, on the other hand, didn't experience the '90s, so she might not get just how lucky she is. Even with all the sanctions and the situation in Ukraine, I gotta say, I haven't felt any problems or seen crime and chaos like back in the '90s. At least, that's been my personal experience. And you know what? Everything the West did just encouraged a lot of people to vote for Putin (with all the sanctions, double standards, russophobia). It's so strange - the EU and the US loved Yeltsin, who almost destroyed Russia (what an embarrassing first president and a drunkard), but for some reason, they can't stand Putin, who made Russia stronger and more united. Plus, he brought Crimea and its people back to the historic homeland. Very strange! Yet another reason to vote for Putin 😂

    I am an American who is very anti-communist to the point that I joined the USMC to fight against the Soviet influence in the world. I think your grandparents are correct about Putin and that he is truly making Russia much better as since 1993 I have watched the USA become more authoritarian and Russia become much freer. Progress takes time, if it is rushed very often wrong paths that are regressive are taken much like the western world has been doing since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Our leaders saw their rival as beaten and decided it was time to remake our countries which have become aggressively worse with societal fragmentation and lower wealth in the middle and lower classes, and huge increase in drug addiction and mental disease. Slow and steady may seem to be stagnant to the young but the collapses that follow wrong paths taken by a society are much more painful. Putin appears to have rebuilt Russia as much as Peter the Great did, and he seems like he may have thwarted the World Economic Forums efforts to rule the world and break Russia into small easy to manipulate regions. As crazy as it sounds Putin may have saved the world from very bad people. So he is not nearly as bad as the western media would have you believe!

      There are no elections in Russia, the authorities create the appearance of democracy in Russia for the world community, numbers are drawn for the dictator Putin, so he has been in power for 25 years, so every year millions of Russians leave Russia from the dictatorial regime

    • @hansandersen2524
      @hansandersen2524 6 месяцев назад

      all parties also serve for appearances, they receive money from Putin for their clownery, the real opposition and those media that criticized the government are banned in Russia, Putin sent some to prison on fabricated political charges, and those who managed to were forced to leave Russia

      Fun fact, none of other candidates at Russia don't really want to win, they state this openly at debates before election. ))

      what this guy @@tpynpec said is true, also in Russia (so as in my country) they prevented the two anti war candidates to run (like Navalny before) and in the 4 only one proposed a cease fire and negotiation (in favor of keeping the annexed Ukraina), the other is a commie clown, he promised to bring socialism back with a red flag waving on Kremlin totally crazy, the other he is a no one, a Doma (parliament) member (liberal party LDPR), known to public for 2 alleged sexual harassment allegations against him, just a ghost of the former leader of the party, and finally the guy who has people that change the ballots in his favor, nevertheless US' system isn't fair either, I just like to clarify to westerners who might get allured by Putinizm and didn't experience an ounce of political repression as Russians would if they dare criticize Putin, same in every dictatorship like Gaza.

    People in almost every western country wish they had a leader like Putin who cares about his people. Russians income is up 15x what it was, pensions are up 15x what they were, GDP is up 11x. In fact Russia has just joined the list of High Income countries according to the World Bank.
