There’s been a lot of talk about Erdogan’s efforts to make Turkey a leader of the Islamic world. In some ways, it has achieved a lot. But there are also a lot of obstacles. So, what do you think? Could it ever become a Muslim superpower? As ever, let me know your thoughts below.

    • @rursus8354
      @rursus8354 Месяц назад +23

Absolutely not. It could at best become an influential local power among Turkic peoples, such as the Azeri and the Kazakh. The Muslims are much more fragmented and mutually suspicious among themselves than most people imagine, quite something similar to the 16-17th centuries in Europe when Christians were at war with each other. In a hypothetical future with no global warming, it might have become a huge power when they are secularized again. But we have global warming, so probably never.

If the past is the best predictor of the future, Turkey has a long track record of being the most capable Muslim nation to lead the Muslim world once again. Arab nations should stop restricting Turkish influence and allow them to assume the post of leader of the Muslim world

🍎Turks have had the dream of a red apple for centuries. A 3-year-old Turk is raised with this dream. He grows up with this dream everywhere, at school, at home, on the street, in the mosque. Red apple means that all people are considered equal for a fair life in the world. Justice aims to protect the order of the whole world.

The perception of Turkiye in the world is that it is a strong country in terms of military. It has developed a lot, especially in the last 20 years, by making a revolution in the field of defense industry. According to the report of the US-based organization CNAS, Turkiye has become the world's largest UAV-UCAV supplier with its successful performance in recent years. Its market share in the world is 65%. Its geopolitical position is quite important. Turkish TV series are also among the most watched TV series in the world. Despite all these advantages, Turkiye is a country whose economy is perceived as weak. Inflation has increased a lot due to incorrectly implemented economic policies. Despite this, its economy is diverse, developed and has a large manufacturing industry, and its tourism sector is good. It is one of the world's largest tourist destinations. It is ranked 1st in Europe and 10th in the world in agricultural production. It is the 11th largest economy in the world according to purchasing power. @@islammehmeov2334 It is not and it won't be in the future. Because the reason behind the superiority of Turkiye among the Islamic States derives from its faith in positive sciences, democracy and secularism. Islamic states (not Islam) clearly suspends freedom of speech, query and criticism and without these a nation cannot reach the technological advancements of the west. Islam is the belief of people in Turkiye and that belief is between the creator Allah (the almighty) and the believers. It has nothing to do with the state itself. Turkiye treats equally to all religions and to the atheists. However, this policy doesn't mean that Turkiye support the west more than the ummah. Turkiye is by far the most helping country to the Muslim world. Some people criticize Turkiye for just talking and doing nothing to Israel. I want to ask a clear question to the people of the Muslim world. If Turkiye attacks Israel, they will all attack Turkiye including the US and the UK. Who will support us from those Arab states? The answer is none. Why should we do this? Salahaddin saved Jerusalem having the entire Muslim world behind him united. Non-Arab muslims are supporting us and I want to thank them. Turkey has shown itself, regardless of its motives, to be one of the few NATO members upholding international law and acting against Israel. The United States has abdicated such a role. As a Turk 🇹🇷, my opinion about the video: There are some incomplete explanations in the video. Türkiye has the most advanced defense industry among Muslim countries. Türkiye's defense exports are mostly to Muslim countries in Asia and Africa. This even includes Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 and UAE 🇦🇪. Türkiye sells not only advanced drones but also warships with the latest technology. There are many issues in the Turkish-Egyptian normalization, but the main issue for the Egyptian 🇪🇬 side is to have a new ally that can ensure its security against Israel 🇮🇱. Israel has overwhelming air superiority over Egypt with fighter jets such as the F-35. For this reason, it will not be a surprise if Egypt procures the 5th generation KAAN from Türkiye. Coming to the main topic of the video, as a Turk, I do not think that Türkiye aims to be the sole leader of the Islamic World. Türkiye's aim is to see Muslim countries on Türkiye's side in a possible crisis with the West in Greece, the Eastern Mediterranean and North-East Syria. I think if we look at it from this perspective, we can make a more accurate analysis.

I agree with you. I don’t see trying to be the Islamic leader or revive the Ottoman empire as a goal of Turkey. Maybe it looks like that from the outside and I think a lot of these countries in the Balkans and Middle East are willing to cooperate with Turkey, but I see the main goal of the Turkish leadership is just to have a bigger say in world affairs and make Turkey more prosperous and influential by whatever way they can.
Turkey also seems like a country that will take the opportunity and risks to build relationships with many countries. For example, since the early 2000’s the Turkish presence in Africa has increased tremendously. Really this has nothing to
do with Islam or the legacy of Ottoman Empire or something, but just because they saw an opportunity there to profit. A lot of important projects and buildings in Africa were built by Turkey. I think after China and possibly the US, Turkey is the country which does the most construction there now when 20 years ago this was almost nothing.

I don't believe that most Muslim countries view Turkey as a leader, and the concept of neo-Ottomanism is not welcomed in North Africa or the Middle East. In Algeria, we have never forgotten the betrayal by the Ottomans when we were attacked by France. Nor have we forgotten Turkey siding with France against us and voting against Algeria’s independence in an effort to appease the West.
Turkey, being a NATO member, is also occupying land illegally in northern Iraq and Syria. While some countries in Asia may be influenced by Turkish TV shows and are more open to Turkey, nations in North Africa and the Middle East are well aware of the Turkish mindset.
It's not that I hate Turkey-I see them as fellow Muslims, just like us-but I believe it’s best for everyone to stay in their own place. We’ve also seen how tourists from the Middle East are often treated poorly by Turks in Turkey.
And don't forget Turkey Saudi Arabia Egypt Jordan UAE Bahrain are members of same club serving Israel and Western Interests.

I read with great pleasure and yet with disappointment the sincere and trust-filled comments written by Muslims from various countries about Turkey. As someone who shares the same values, lives in Turkey, and has close ties to this country's past, I must say that we have many leaders who act as if Turkey were the backyard of Israel, and they are seriously altering the spiritual and intellectual fabric of society for the future. A new generation has emerged, one that denies-or has already begun to deny-its cultural and religious values. There is a saying from a scholar who was raised on these lands, spoken about 70-80 years ago: "Turkey is pregnant with Europe, and Europe is pregnant with Islam."

Dear people, I would like to share a few facts about the Turks. Please forgive me for taking up your time. First and foremost, the Turks are unlike any other nation. Throughout history, they have been hardworking, compassionate, always standing by the oppressed, and striving to advance in science and technology. The greatest examples of these qualities are our leaders, Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. As the Turkish nation, we have never had the aim of occupying a country, causing them pain, or creating chaos. In general, we are a nation that stands by the oppressed, just as we have done for years. Please do not compare us to Arabs or associate us with them simply because we share the Muslim faith, as the Turkish people are of a different ethnicity and are a nation that works for the peaceful coexistence of the entire world. Unlike other countries, of course, due to our geographical position, we perceive those who are envious of us and have ambitions on our land as threats and take necessary precautions accordingly. However, I must make it clear that as long as no bullet is fired at us, we will never declare war on any state or country. To quote our great leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: "Peace at Home, Peace in the World." Thank you for listening. If you have any questions or uncertainties about Turkey, please research Turkey and the Turkish people from unbiased media sources. Stay with love and in good health.

As a Turkish and living board, my opinion is Türkiye will come to a military powerhouse in the next 5 to 10 years for sure. They will be ahead of many European countries. So, questions are what will Türkiye do with all that power ? The answer is pretty simple, play the Muslim leadership as a military arm sales to Muslim countries and African nations, including South America and countries like Indonesia and Malaysia, to support them as strong Muslim nations. They can't get the arms and advanced military equipment and air defense systems from the west. Now Türkiye will do happily and maintain a counterbalance between the good ,bad, and ugly 😅 but Türkiye will NOT play a religious role power. especially our Central Asian Turkic brothers won't like it to. We will let everyone free will religion practice, but full support to our religious way of life at the same time sounds complicated, but in the end, Islam and Türk can't be separated this is the way our grandfather's has excepted and will be remain forever.

What a great analysis. I always believed that Islamic word is divided between three power. Saudi Arabia due to it being home of Islamic places of worship. Pakistan because of it being the only Islamic nuclear state. And Turkey because of its overall military and historical power stemming from it being hone to Khalifa etc.

There is a proverb in Turkish: "Whatever the origin of a person is, so will his progeny." When you look at Turkey's past, you can see that there are grandchildren of Atilla, Seljuks and Ottomans. These are only 3 powerful Turkish states that I have listed. No matter how you look at it, Turks have a history of at least 2000 years. I'm not even counting the small ones that established 16 big states. Turkey's genetics have the ability to become a global power. This will happen, but it will not happen immediately, it will take at least another 50 years.

Turkey's role in various geographies like Cyprus, Karabakh, Libya, N.Syria might be followed by a greater Eurasian project involving the Turkic/Sunni muslim populations of declining Russia. Arabs brought West's intervention into Middle East, especially British, due to warring tribes, the result is constant turmoil in the region.
Muslims all over the world are also wary of Arab Regimes who are totally under Western influence when massacres are happening in Gaza.
Turkey has suffered lots of interference from the West, even ostracised for being a Muslim Nation. What choice Islamic countries have from the animosity of the West, the only choice left is to emerge independent from the chains of the West slowly n steadly,if they can.
Who can forget Islamphobia, of which ordinary Muslims are suffering on daily basis?
Now, West calls itself Followers of Christianity, When Jesus never preached violence against Humanity.
Western Wars have killed millions, destroyed countries in the name of Imperialism, so much blood shed from past to present.
How much countries.will put up with, time appears to be over with 'shut up'.....
