Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together. We also do a lot of epoxy projects as well as woodturning. Хобби

Very nice piece, love the inlay!
Thank you! Cheers!
If the hardener is a little orange, it just makes 2 shades of wood...which I think would be a fabulous contrast and makes the humming bird pop even more.
Yes I think it turned out great!
That is Beautiful 😍
The possibilities are Endless with that stuff 👍🏻
Thank you so much Connie! It's a lot of fun to work with!

I hadn't seen any of your videos recently and checked to see if you'd posted any. Lo and behold, RUclips somehow unsubscribed me from your channel at least 2 months ago. I'm glad I checked, I missed seeing your videos.
Thank you Bruce, glad to have you back :)
It's only easy if you have a CNC lol . Cool box inlay looks great take care .

Ditto! 💪💪💪
Great video! The inlay adds a nice touch. I don't have a CNC, I wonder if a desktop laser would cut the inlay material?
Thank you Jesse! I'm not sure about that, but Scott Grove would be the person to ask. Sounds pretty cool if it works.
Nice job Carl! Are you coming to SWAT this August? Hope to see you there!
Thank you Robert! Yes we'll be there, looking forward to it!
Carl, I swear I don't think that there is anything that you can't do on a lathe. Awesome job with this box! Are you still a Robust dealer? If so I may be interested in getting a small one from you. If I do I'll email you and let you know for sure.
Thanks for sharing and God bless
Thank you so much Roy 🙂 Yes I'm still a dealer if you have any questions just let me know jacobson68@yahoo.com
Beautiful little box, Carl...love the inlay! What is the tubing that is on your dust collection? It seems to be rigid and stay in place...I could use some.
Thank you Carol!! Here's a link, I just bought the hose not the fittings.it works really well, www.woodcraft.com/products/4-dust-source-rigid-flex-set
As always, beautiful work! Could you tell me the brand of your chuck? Thanks
Thank you Harry!! It's an Easy Wood chuck. Take care
Great job. At what rpm do you turn when sanding with the walnut oil? Thanks
Thank you Glenn! I turned it down to about 300rpm
That's really cute Carl! Is the Easy Wood rougher a square carbide or the radius one? Do you think a clear 2 part epoxy would work with a pour that shallow or would it mess with the sticker?
Thank you! Yes the rougher is the square one. I used a 2 part epoxy for this one, I just didn't show it. It didn't effect it at all.
@@CarlJacobson Thanks for the reply
What is the chuck you have?
It's an Easy Wood chuck, here's a link www.easywoodtools.com/easy-chuck-1
Can you cut the inlay material with scissors or something other than a cnc?
I'm sure you can cut it, but I would check out Scott Grove's channel. I'm sure he'll give you some tips on how to do it. ruclips.net/channel/UCRSUIlle6P49snsndDOpdzwvideos
yes, scissors, exacto knife, I use a scroll or jewelers saw with 2/0 blade most times. Cuts like butta!
