Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together. We also do a lot of epoxy projects as well as woodturning. Хобби
Simple, yet elegant.
Thank you Mark!
Carl you've made wood turning look so easy again.... and love the vessel, such a creative space (lucky to have Maple - don't have any of that in my workshop)

Hello Carl glad to see your RUclips channel doing so well this is Tim I'm living in Phoenix now so if your ever down this way look me up
Hey buddy!! I hope everything is going well. We might be down that way next year.
Awesome hollow form Carl. And you managed to toss in some juggling to boot. Take care my friend.
lol Thank you buddy!!
Wonderful!!! :)
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing piece Carl. I think a similar piece would look cool with two-four evenly spaced holes that were on the same angle or plane. Another beautiful piece. I love your videos. I have been subscribed to your channel since before you got your Powermatic lathe, like 2010 actually. You were one of the people that got me into turning and I have learned a ton from you over the years.
Thank you so much Scott! I really appreciate that! That does sound really cool! Have a great weekend
0:00 Good grab!
lol Thank You!
Seems like every video you do I learn something new, thanks for putting out these videos. Would you consider doing a video on off axis turning salt and pepper grinders. I have tried three times and failed three times so far lol.
lol First of all, I'm glad I can help and Thank you very much! Second, I've never done one, so let me do a little research and we'll see :)
Great. Liked and Subbed!
Thank you very much!!
интересный метод, использую его в своих проектах
Благодарю вас!

This is great Carl! I love the illusion of being hollowed from that little hole. I just may have to do one of these. I like do turnings that are illusions.
Not sure if you remember but I bought your old Delta from you a number of years ago. I have to admit I ended up getting something else and sold it.
Take care,
Gary
Thank you so much Gary! I love doing projects like this too.
WOW blast from the past!! What lathe did you end up getting?
Take care buddy,
Carl
So I found a Jet 1442 used in perfect shape but that did not last long before I bought the Laguna 1836.
I do remember you showing me your Robust. A real dream.
Since I watched this video of yours I have posted an Illusion turning as well. Check it out if you get a chance. I have to say it turned out really nice.
Stay cool I guess it is getting hot again soon.
Gary
Very cool project Carl! I don't know how that would sound if you tap it with a stick. I was thinking that you could make a few of them with different sized holes and perhaps use them like drums. Anyway, hope that all is well on your end. 👍👍😉😉
Thank you Steve!! That's a cool idea!
All is great here, hope the same for you!
Very clever Carl , a joy to watch, may be some day I might surprise myself and try something like that 😉 cheers 🍻 n regards John Humphries, Dunedin New Zealand..
@@johnhumphries868 Thank you John!!
Very curious. This week both you and Alan Stratton do hollow forms and you both hollow from the bottom. How is that for coincidence? Your forms were quite different though. Yours is very interesting with the off center opening at the top. That will make for some interesting conversation. 😃😃 Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.
I was going to note the same thing but you beat me to it!
Thank you so much Glen!! It's definitely a conversation piece!! This is an easy way to hollow something out. Have a great day and stay safe.
Awesome piece, Carl!
'Wondering if you could you share the RPM range you recommend for achieving similar results?
Particularly when using the #1 hollowing carbide tool.
Thanks in advance.
❤
Beautifu
Thank you Jay!!
Noice!!!
Thanks brother!
Very cool! Sneaky.....but cool.
Thank you :)
I wonder if Ellsworth did this in some of his forms that seem impossible
I don't think so, I've seen the man turn in person....He's a wizard! :)
Really nice, Carl. Did you burn the lines in the bottom? Once again, you made something just a little (actually a lot) outside the box (lol). Take care.
Bill
Thank you Bill!! I didn't burn the lines, but you could do that too. Take care.
Sneaky!!! When people ask how just say "Trained Termites"!
lol Thank you buddy!
