That's a nice tutorial. You forgot to mention, that the slipknot doesn't count and is discarded, so we don't have the bump in our first row

I love your knitting videos... I think THIS technique is just a fantastic looking cast on for double knitting!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your clear, and slow, instructions, I didn't feel rushed and anxious at all :)
Do you think at some point you could do a video on increasing the width on both sides? I've tried several ways and it doesn't really look that hot :/
Thanks again and blessings to you and yours! :)

I'll add that to my on-going and ever growing idea list. It's always helpful to know what knitters want to learn more about.

As always, such a nice verbal lesson. Ellen, how do you like these squared needles? I'm thinking about purchasing them to help with evening tension.

Hi Nadine. I've only used the smaller sizes (2.75 mm and less) of the square needles. I like them and they do help make neat, evenly sized sts. That being said, if you are an excessively loose knitter, I don't know how much they would help even out tension issues. Hope that helps. Happy knitting!

    Thank you so much!
Quick question, do we unravel the slip knot at the end or do we just disregard it once we start double knitting?

There's no need to unravel the slip knot. When you pull the first loop through (2:37) the slip knot tightens up and is below your knitting needles. Hope that makes sense.

I am wondering if it is possible use this method with a long tail cast on. I would really like to try it!
